We had spent the rest of the day not talking. He told me about his library and I buried my head in a book till he reminded me about the date.

Standing in front of the mirror, I stared at my reflection and ran my hands down the dress one more time. No make-up. And a too tight dress. What was I meant to wear on my feet? Finally, I turned and walked out of the bathroom. No one was in the room but there were two shoe boxes sitting on the bed. Reaching for the first one, I found a pair of rather tall black heels. That’s a solid nope unless he really wanted to see me fall on my face. Turning my attention to the second box, I found a pair of ballet flats in black with rhinestones in the shape of a butterfly on them. They were beautiful. Pulling them on, they fit my feet like a glove.

Looking around, I gave myself a minute to find my strength to go on with this. I walked out the door and found Aziel standing at the front of the stairs. He had on a button down top, in red to match my dress. So
