Isabella's pov

“Aren't you excited?’ Linda asked with concern as my smile disappeared without a trace.

“I am,” I lied right through my teeth, not only was I unexcited I was pissed off. To her the Blue Moon banquet was a magical experience filled with sparkling dresses, rare delicacies and there should be at the center of it all holding everyone's attention.

For me it was a grueling experience, and now knowing that the Royal triplets were going to be in attendance everything would have to be done to absolute perfection meaning more work on my hands. So no, I wasn't excited, but I couldn't tell her that.

Didn't want to be ‘wet blanket’ especially since Linda had this obsession with the Lycan princes, she had gone to the palace regularly since she was a child and never really shut up about them.

“Ella, I have to start getting ready, this is the only chance I have to make them admit their feelings for me,”

“Admit?” I said with a raised eyebrow as I stuffed her dirty clothes into the laundry basket.

“Yes, silly! I've seen the way all three of them look at me. I've got them whipped but they I probably scared of ruining their brotherly bond by approaching me. Oh just thinking about it makes me squeal!”

My eyes remained on my hopeless best friend for a moment or two, she really put the D in delusion, but I didn't need to be the one to tell her that.

After that talk she went to request that her Uncle take me and some other maids from the preparation of the banquet so that we could focus on helping her.

“The more hands on deck, the better,” she said, and I was hit with a naive wave of relief, thinking that I was getting the better end of the stick, especially since there would be other maids but I couldn't have been more wrong.

“No, not that dress, it makes me look fat!”

“Can't you see this foundation is two shades lighter? Do you want me going out looking like a ghost?”

“Who brought me this nasty dish? Are they planning to give me pimples before my big day?!”

“Ella, you are the only one I can trust. The rest of them are trying to sabotage me! I know it!” She would say something along those lines before she dismissed another maid. In the end I was carrying the lionshare of the work, secretly wishing I could beg the Alpha to let me go back to banquet preparations. Anything–anything would be better than this!

Finally, the night of the banquet came, Linda had already promised me a small vacation, which was just a nice way of saying that I could curl up in my bed for a day or two before coming back to serve her hand and foot. I was wearing a simple black and white outfit just like the other maids waiting for her hair stylist who was carefully placing delicate flowers in Linda's hair.

I've been here for hours, maybe I could have slept and rested my aching muscles during that time but Linda needed someone to chat with so she wouldn't be bored.

“Ella, I hope you've started preparing…” she said with a giggle, “... After tonight we will be heading to the palace. I'll convince them to even pay you more than the regular maid, aren't you happy?”

“I’ll still be a maid?” I asked the surprise slipping out of my voice faster than I could catch it.

Linda held up her hand then in a thick voice dismissed the hair stylist, “come back in about 5 minutes,” then without looking at me just straight that time mirror she said; “Ella, do you ever remember your time on the streets?”

Her words hit me like a slap on the face, “I do–”

“Sometimes I think you forget,” she cut me off, “... It's funny because I still remember how you used to thank me everyday for saving you from that life; eating rotten food from the garbage can, wearing filthy rags…oh just thinking about it gives me goosebumps,”

She finally turned around to face me, my eyes couldn't meet hers because they were heavy with shame.

“Tell me the truth, Ella, have you forgotten?”

And with those simple words, she talked me back into knowing my place as pitiful and pathetic, as it was to know I'd probably be dead, or insane if she hadn’t taken pity on me all those years back.

“I'm sorry, I–”

“It's okay, I'll forgive you…after all, what are friends for?”

The hair stylist came back into an awkward silence but finished up her work anyways. Linda twirled in front of the mirror wearing a satisfied smile before she approached me.

“Before we go there's something remember what I told you before,”

I nodded, “Yes, for tonight I should forget that we are friends and only act as your maid.”

“Good job, I hope you're not hurt by that. It's just the standard of the capital. I don't really see the point of it but I wouldn't want my loving princes to think that I am classless,”

I wish tonight would end already.

“Of course, lady Linda,”

The banquet hall was beautifully decorated as always, and also plumped up with a larger turnout of guests, just as I had expected. I guess even if it's made no difference to me, members of The Royal family coming here was a big deal.

The presence of the first prince was announced with much flair just as the double doors were thrown open and he stepped in his hair stylishly messy, his frame tall built and elegant and there was this overwhelming charismatic air that permeated the air around him like thick perfume.

He smells nice too, really nice.

Suddenly he paused in the middle of the hall, then he made intentional steps towards the Alpha's table, which was not a surprise, since naturally that was where he was meant to sit.

His steps slowly but steadily grew more hurried, grew more hurried and frantic, like he was worried the Alpha's table would dissipate into thin air. As for Linda she was smiling from ear to ear but her smile sunk the moment the first prince, Ralph Blackwood walked past her cupped my cheeks with both hands and said with raspily; “Mate,”

Isabella Pov “Alpha Harold please slow down!” I begged for the millions of times as a thorn scratched the side of my face leaving a thin trail of blood rolling it down and mixing with my sweats. He growled, ignoring my place and running even faster than before, picking up pace, his paws tearing through the ground. I clenched harder to the fur on his back regretting now in this moment more than ever that I let Linda have her way. As the only living relative of the Alpha, she had learned of the word “No” really late in her young life and was still visibly struggling to understand it. It's always plays out the same, Linda wants something and the question was never ‘if’ she could have it but ‘when’ Of all the reckless decisions she had made in her life, choosing the Alpha triplets was the only one that benefited her uncle and yet he was running to find her like she had been kidnapped by savage rogues. The closer we came to the old Woods, the more my mind opened up to a chillin

Isabella's POV I had a bad feeling about Linda's ‘master plan’ but she was so fixated on it that I ended up caving anyway. If it all goes south at least I told her so. “The plan is simple…” I recalled Linda's scheming voice, “the prince triplets have not seen you in your wolf form yet, so invite them to the old woods I'll pretend to be you,” “Then what?” I had asked her, naturally curious. “Then…” her eyes fell into slits, “... Just mind your business, you don't need to know what happens after that.” “Well there goes nothing,” I said, coming back to the present and knocking on Raphael's door, compared to the rest he was more approachable. “Damien for the last time I told you to put a sock in it–” Raphael froze at the door, now slightly ajar exposing half of his face. It took a second or two for full recognition to flood into those eyes and as they did he pushed the door open completely pulled me in and before I knew it it was locked with me inside of the room my back presse

Isabella's POV I waited for someone to speak and break the awkward silence that followed after my declaration. Nothing, all of them just exchanged looks with each other. “I mean…” I began, trying to make myself more clear, “our pack isn't all that influential and I'm just an adopted daughter of the Beta family. There is nothing special about me, right?” I wish one of them would just speak instead of letting me ramble on like this. Raphael's sudden chipped from the tense air. “We already know about this,” he smiled, “it doesn't change anything, you are still our mate.” It was like talking to three brick walls, honestly! Was that the only person hearing what was coming out of my mouth? These three men could have anyone they wanted, literally any She Wolf that they fancied, was the mate bond really a big deal for them? It hadn't been for Mark. All the years we spent together and he rejected me without blinking an eye. I didn't care anymore but it hurt more than a stab wound

Isabella's pov Linda's anger eventually sizzled out, but she was still red all over like I had snatched away the princes from her. “Did you plan for this?” She asked me, I looked between her and her uncle who was groaning in the background and still trying to pull her away, but she resisted fervently. “How could I have planned for this?” I said with a helpless gesture of my hands. “I had no idea that I was going to be mated to them…” “Stop saying that!” She yelled out emotionally slapping her palms over her ears. “Do you think that the moon goddess would make a mistake like that? Choosing somebody like you to be the next Queen Luna?” I wasn't hoping for anything anyways, but the way she slapped me with another dose of reality hurt. Things had changed between us, but I still like to believe that deep down inside we were still friends, weren't we? “Linda, the princes want to see her,” Alpha Harold said then adjusted his eyes until they were looking at me, “they would like t

  • Sacrificial Bride For The Possessive Triplet Lycan Princes    chapter 5

Isabella's pov My eyelids peeled open and I found myself in bed, a wave of relief crashed against me. It had all been a dream, well more accurately a nightmare. Of course, it's only in my imagination that such a thing could possibly happen– “You're finally awake,” A cold, sharp voice pierced through my ear. I turned around to see a silver haired stranger, seated and staring right at me. With a clenched fist I rubbed my eyes hard, but when I was done he was still there coolly observing me with his scrutinizing gaze. “W-who are you?” “Someone who would be sleeping right now, if it wasn't for you…” he breezily stepped towards me and placed his large palm over my forehead faster than I could react. “Your temperature seems to be normal now…oh wait, it's going up again…” I bolted away from him to the corner of my bed. “Don't touch me!” I screamed, breathing heavily. He looked unphased and just went back to the chair. Offering nothing, no explanation as to what happened last ni

Isabella’s pov “Mate,” He said it again as it was not mortifying enough the first time, and to make matters worse my wolf was also leaping inside of me screaming out that same word “Mate! Mate!” His deep eyes pierced into mine and the touch of his fingers on my skin was electrifying. After what happened to me in the past, my skin feels different anytime a man would touch me but that aversion was not present with him. Rather, I wanted to lean into his touch, to burrow myself into his embrace and rest my tired head on his broad chest–what kind of thought was I entertaining? I must be out of my mind! This couldn't be right, how could I…a mere maid be the fated mate of one of the Lycan princes? Surely there had to be a mistake somewhere, somehow. “I think you've got the wrong per–” halfway through my sentence Linda started choking on her drink, and all attention fell on her again, as the entire banquet hall was thrown into panic. I grabbed this opportunity with both hands and r
