Chapter Forty

It has been several months since the guys and I reported the individuals responsible for capturing and killing dolphins to the police. We have been through a lot during this time. First, Stella was kidnapped but eventually returned to us. However, she and Kai were kidnapped again and shot before the police were able to apprehend and kill the perpetrator.

Now that we have graduated from high school and are heading off to college, we are spending tonight hanging out with our girlfriend. We plan to cook some tacos and watch movies together.

As I am in the kitchen preparing the meat, Dakoda walks in and offers to help. I playfully grab her waist and pull her closer to me, suggesting that she can assist with the meat. I give her a kiss on the neck, but she reminds me that she can't concentrate with me distracting her. We exchange some banter, and she playfully elbows me in the ribs. I laugh at her response.
