Emily was relieved that the trip back to the valley was uneventful for her and Rica. She felt bad that she had scolded Rica earlier for their adventure last night once she could feel just how happy she was being out and able to run. Rica almost seemed like a kid in a candy shop. There were a few times that they would startle a deer or rabbit, and Emily would have to force Rica to focus on getting back to the valley. Once all of this was over she would make sure that she let Rica run free more.
Rica? Emily asked.
Hmm? Rica replied.
What was it like when you were locked away all of those years?
Sighing Rica took a minute to respond. Do you remember whe
“Yes, I was able to make the trip a lot quicker than anticipated,” her grandmother replied. “I see that you have met Rica,” she said with her eyes flashing purple for a second. “Yes,” Emily said walking the rest of the way to her grandmother. “We introduced ourselves yesterday, but I guess we met officially this morning,” Emily said with a rueful grin. Chuckling her grandmother replied, “I bet she was eager to get out and stretch her legs. I heard that you had a little adventure last night. That is what helped me get here so much quicker. Agatha had Breanna here aparate and bring me here. I might have to learn how to do that one day.” “Will I e
“This means that there wouldn’t even be much of a war at this point, right,” Breanna asked.“Honestly, I do not want to jinx us, but it does seem like that,” Agatha said. “Gabriel, how about your side? WHat are we looking at with just shifters versus hunters?”“Our biggest issues would be them using weapons. Even our best warriors would be taken down for a while if they took a bullet to the head. Assuming that they would not have time to detach heads, we would not have many casualties,” Gabriel said.“Agatha,” Emily asked, “what about the visions that you shared with me yesterday? Have they changed or do you have a way of seeing if they have changed?”“I would need to go and s
“Well, that’s not all there is to completing the mate bond,” her grandmother said with a chuckle. “But that is part of it.” Emily groaned and covered her face to help hide her blush. She peaked through her fingers and looked up at her mate. He was grinning down at her and gave a little shrug. “I mean Conri, and I are willing to make the sacrifice since it will help with a war and all,” he said with a wink. “Oh my gosh,” she groaned and covered her face. Just kill me now she thought to herself. They do have a point. Rica said.
Emily was pretty sure that she broke a couple records while rushing to get ready. The whole time her stomach was growling and grumbling urging her to move faster so she could get something to eat. Within her forty five minute time frame she was able to take a much needed shower. She was still embarrassed thinking about how she had been walking around with so much blood still all over her. Emily really thought in her mind that more of it had been removed with her shifting and everything. She saw how bad she actually looked when she looked in the mirror in the bathroom before hurrying into the shower. Once in the shower, she had cringed at how quickly the water had turned dark. Seeing how bad her appearance had been, made her even more glad that she had thought to shower and change before going into town. How in the world had Gabriel still thought she looked attractive in any way was a mystery to her. Figuring that she was getting close to her time limit, Emily quickly finished blow
After lunch the majority of their group went their separate ways. Samuel went back to helping with training, and Marcus returned to work. Emily’s grandmother went to rest and then had plans to meet up with Agatha later. Sarah took Sebastian back home since he was starting to tire, and needed to rest. Breanna had self-appointed herself as Emily’s personal tour guide and shopping partner, so they headed to the nearest store to begin their damage. Gabriel followed behind at a slower pace since he was making some phone calls on a cell phone that Marcus had given him before he went back. “Do you need to go back,” Emily asked as they reached the first store and Gabriel had just wrapped up his second phone call. “No,” Gabriel said with a quick smile. “I’m fine right now. I can go to the first few stores with you, and then take any bags back with me so you don’t have to haul them.” “The first few stores? How many stores are we going to today,” Emily asked worriedly looking between Breanna
Emily really enjoyed the rest of her afternoon that she got to spend shopping with Breanna. She was glad that Gabriel had left though. The fourth store that they went to had been a lingerie store. While she did need to pick up underwear and bras, Emily could only imagine what Gabriel would have thought or started picking up while they were in there. She was used to more simple and functional underwear. The lingerie store that they went to did not have much, well anything, along the lines of just simple and functional. They ended up leaving that shore with four bags alone. Most of the items in the bags Breanna had picked out saying that they were necessities and carried up to the counter before Emily could even see them. Shrugging, she figured that she would end up seeing what all Breanna had put in the bags when they got back to the castle. After their stop at the second, fourth, and sixth store each, Breanna had apparated to the castle and back to drop off their bags. Emily could on
As soon as Emily and Rica passed through the main entrance they were shocked by the site that greeted them on the other side of the mountain. Everywhere that they looked there were hunters and wolves fighting. Rica quickly ran over and pulled two hunters off of an older looking large wolf that had several big gashes on his right side. As the hunters were tossed one of her claws quickly went across their neck to make sure that they would not attack anymore wolves. Go through the barrier. Emily told the large wolf indicating back over her shoulder the way that she had come. Help is coming. I won’t leave my men. Emily sighed in frustration. Stupid stubborn males. Looking at the proud set of the older wolf’s shoulder and posture she said, Stay on my left. I will try to cover your right side. Emily thought she saw a slight relaxation in his posture for a split second before he gave a single nod and came over to her left. Let’s go, she said as they began to make their way over to ano
Emily! Gabriel roared through their link. Emily barely heard as she felt her blood rushing and saw the hunter pull out the knife and bring his arm back to plunge it in again. In less than two seconds Rica had tossed the injured cub so that he was out of the way over her right shoulder and she swung her left arm with claws extended. She knocked the knife from the hunter’s hands and left long bleeding claw marks like the ones left on the cub across the hunter’s chest. Rica went to pull out his throat when Emily cried out, Wait! Rica had her hand wrapped around the hunter’s throat and Emily could see the fear in his eyes. He should be afraid. He wasn’t afraid a minute ago when he was plunging that knife into her side. Why? Rica snarled. Maybe we can take him in for questioning. Maybe he will tell us why the hunters attacked now. How many there are and any other plans, Emily said. Emily, are you okay? Gabriel yelled through their link again. Looking up she saw him running in her di
