CHAPTER 60

ADRIANNA’S POV

The following day, Eric left after breakfast to go to town to get some foodstuffs and supplies, as the ones in the house were almost finished. I wanted to go with him, but he insisted he go alone because it could get dangerous.

He locked the door on his way out. I didn’t mind. As long as it was for my safety, I was okay with it. It’s not like I would ever run away and leave him again.

I spent the whole day doing the little things I never thought I could find happiness in. I washed, cleaned the entire house, sang, and even daydreamed while at it.

Even though our lives were in danger, we weren’t living in wealth and luxury, and were tucked away in the middle of nowhere, away from everyone else, I have never felt so happy in my life.

I guess people’s definition of happiness was different. To most, it was living in wealth and luxury and being able to afford every material thing. This was mine. I don't care what anybody will say or think if they find out how odd

CHAPTER 61ERIC’S POVFuck…! Fuck…!! Fuck…!!!I can’t believe they’d found us. I thought this house was the safest place for us to hide until this Alpha Nolan’s murder mystery died down. We hadn’t even been here for up to a week, and they’ve already caught up with us. This wasn't good. How was it possible they found us? What do I do now? Where do we go from here? I had no one else. I had nothing else. And I hated being in a position where I was helpless and couldn’t do anything to make things better.Having gotten all the stuff we needed for the house and without anything else to do, I decided to return early. I didn’t want to leave Adrianna alone for long. She had wanted to come with me but I didn’t agree because of the risk of anyone recognizing us, and she just might slow me down. She must be feeling very bored and lonely, and that made me move faster. However, a few feet from the house, I spotted someone on top of the roof. He was clad in a plain black professional-looking suit.

  • Saved By The Hidden Alpha King   Consoling him

CHAPTER 59ADRIANNA’S POVNow, I understood the real reason Coach Steele said he was like a son to him and Eric also said he was like a father to him.Growing up, I used to think I was the only child in the world with a painful past because all my age mates I saw at that time seemed to be living a fairytale. I never knew some children suffered twice as much as I. I knew that feeling all too well. That feeling of being neglected, of being abandoned and denied the love you deserve by someone who you desperately yearned for that love from. It cut deeper than anything.Eric's expression was tight. He looked like he was battling within himself to keep that intense anger surging inside him at bay.I knew if he could right now, he’d punch a hole through something, and he avoided looking at me even though I was a few inches away from him as if ashamed of feeling that way in front of me.But he shouldn’t be. It was my fault he was feeling that way. I still felt guilty for bringing up the topic

  • Saved By The Hidden Alpha King   His Past

CHAPTER 58ADRIANNA’S POVInstead of the dining room, we settled on the bed in the bedroom, eating the pancakes he made despite knowing how messy it could get.I suggested the idea because I wanted to spend more time close to him in a cozy place, clinging to his protective body like a fortress. At first, he wasn’t okay with it because he was worried about the mattress getting stained but I managed to convince him. Convincing him wasn’t hard at all.We topped the pancakes with berries and a little bit of jam, and it tasted like heaven. I wouldn’t stop teasing and praising him. During his time as a fighter, he lived alone like a bachelor. That was how he was able to learn how to cook this well.He had reclined against the headboard of the bed while I nuzzled in between his legs, resting my back against his torso. He played with my hair with his left hand and ate with his right. At some point, I felt his member growing as it pressed against my lower back.More than anything, I wanted to

CHAPTER 57 ADRIANNA’S POV He stared at me in relentless expectation, hoping for a positive response. My eyes locked onto his, my lips parting involuntarily in stunned disbelief, wondering how that thought had even crossed his mind. I never knew he had it in him to want revenge on my father for what he did. I was even more shocked he remembered my father. Yes, my father had hurt me—deeply. And maybe it would’ve been natural to crave revenge. But that wasn’t me. Getting back at him was never the plan. I couldn’t lower myself to his level. I wouldn’t be the one to destroy him. Life would. Karma always does. Glancing away and letting out a breath, I snapped out of the shock. “No, Eric,” I said softly, my voice laced with a quiet regret as I felt a bit sorry for him because that wasn’t the reply he had hoped for. “I appreciate your efforts to help me but it was never my intention to get back at my father. The only reason I decided to make a stop back home was to get the money

  • Saved By The Hidden Alpha King   When Silence Hurts

CHAPTER 56 ADRIANNA’S POV The next day, I woke up quite early in the morning to the sweet aroma of pancakes streaming into my nose. Enticed by the aroma, I got up from bed and quietly made my way to the kitchen to see Eric flipping a pancake on a pan with a spatula. I rested my head against the edge of the kitchen door, and couldn't help watching him with a dreamy smile on my face. He was shirtless, dressed only in a pair of grey sweatpants that hung low on his hips, accentuating the lean cut of his narrow waist and the powerful expanse of his broad back. The muscles of his back and triceps bulged, straining relentlessly under the tanned thick cover of his skin with the slightest movement he made. He looked sexy and hot, so irresistible that I couldn’t look away for even a second. He looked like something straight out of a dream and I couldn’t help but wonder if he was real. If I were really deserving of a man like him. I knew that most men hated cooking and housework, bu
