Chapter 22: After Everything

Returning home, I start to see the morning sunlight peak over the tree line, as I glance over at Dominic who hasn’t said a word to me since the minute we left.  Matter of fact, it was so quiet that I could hear myself think clearly for once and that doesn’t usually ever happen.  The only thing that was louder was the constant glares and stares from him when I would slow down, and he wanted to run.

I can’t believe that he was just about to take me just a few hours earlier, but then the reality of the situation came crashing down and interrupted it all.  Not wanting to anger him worse than he already is, I choose to stay silent until we get back.  The minute we step in the door however, I feel relieved and let out a loud sigh before he glances over at me and realizes just how much this has taken out of me.
