Chapter 5

Braden

   The grand ball started but I can't smell my mate. But Atticus feels she's here. Many she-wolves throw themselves on me, I just smiled at them. I took the glass of red wine to my mouth.

My eyes roamed around the hall, I saw my unmated warriors finally find their mates.

Our pack is growing in numbers, it's because of my mother's strategic plan. I wish my Luna could be like her beautiful and smart.

"Did you find her?" Jaxon said through the mind link.

"Not yet. But Atticus feel our mate here," I replied. 

"Oh, so the Luna was around. I hope you can find her soon," he replied.

"Yeah, but her scent was just a faint, so weird!" I told him. 

"Oh, the Luna is something," he chuckled.

I groaned and cut off our link.  I saw mom and dad talking to a couple. I walk towards them.

"Hi," I greeted them with a smile. The four of them look at me. My parents have a loving smile on their faces.

"Hey, son! my dad greeted and tap my shoulder. 

"You're finally here," my mom said. 

"meet the alpha and Luna of the dark wolf pack from the south?" She added. My face furrowed. 

The dark wolf pack,  I look at the luna and the alpha unintimidated. They have something in their personality that is unexplainable.

And Atticus felt that. A strange and powerful aura. 

I smiled at them. "It's nice to finally meet the elusive Alpha and Luna of the Dark Wolf oac," I greeted them. I heard them laugh.

"We're not elusive Alpha, we're just living by the mountains," Alpha Arkin said and laugh.

"You have a very handsome son. Amelia."Luna Heidi said. 

"of course, he has a handsome father," Alpha Brandon said, which made us laugh.

"Where's Allison by the way?" My mother asked?

"Oh, that young lady was still in her room," Luna Heidi groaned.

"There she is!" Alpha Arkin announced while looking on the other side of  Grand hall.

Our eyes followed his gaze, then I saw the most beautiful girl I ever laid my eyes on.

She had an hourly glass body figure, standing tall with confidence, had a beautiful, pair of oceanic blue eyes, rounded with thick and black eyelashes, she had cherry red lips that to inviting to taste, her blonde hair that framed her beautiful features. 

My heart trembles while looking at her. Then our eyes meet. Atticus howled in joy and said.

'Mate'

I saw how her body stiffened just like mine. I smiled at her.

I have a very beautiful mate, but my smile fade when I saw the worry on her face. Then she step back and turned away.

'Mate, she doesn't like us, she runs away,' Atticus said in my head.

"No!" I let a powerful growl that made everyone in the party submit.

"Allison, come back here," I heard Luna Heidi's voice doomed in the Grandball, but my mate ignore it and run away. 

"Follow mate, talk to her, " Atticus said, then I found myself running after her. 

I went outside the packhouse. 

I sniff the air to familiarize myself with her scent but I smell nothing. Then a realization hit me, she smells like a human. 

I saw some she-wolfs staring at me with lust. I ignore them and continue walking. Then from afar behind the fountain, I saw a silhouette of her, she had her hand in her chest and panting.

I just look at her for a while, she has the softest and snow-white skin, her gown accentuated her elegance and ethereal beauty, she's an epitome of a living barbie doll.

"Go to mate, I feel her distress," Atticus said in my head. I took a deep breath and silently walk towards her.

I cleared my throat to get her attention. She slowly turns her head on me.

I give her my most handsome smile. I heard her deep breathe. She smiles awkwardly

"Hi!" I greeted her to cut the silence between us. 

"Hi!' she replied in a sweet voice. It sounds like a beautiful melody ringing in my head.

Atticus howled again in my head, like a lovesick puppy.

"I'm sorry about earlier," she said. I just smile and nodded my head at her. 

I run my eyes on her face, she's really lovely and beautiful. 

"My name is Braden, Alpha of this pack," I said and offer my hand.

She cleared her throat.

"Allison, " she said and took my hand. As our skin touches each other, the tingling sensation and bolts of electricity rundowns to my body.

I feel the warmth from her soft hands. I look at her and locked my eyes, those oceanic blue yes that brings calms into my heart like a deep blue sea.

"My hands," she suddenly said. I awkwardly smile and rub the back of my head. I'm acting like a teenager in front of my mate.

"I'm sorry, I was captivated by my mate's beauty," I told her.

I saw how her face reddened then a shy smile appear.

"Thank you! You are very handsome too, she replied that made me smile.

"really? why did you run away then?" I ask but with a smile on my face.

"it's just an unthinkable move, I just can't believe that you're in front of me now," She explained.

"I wasn't expecting that I will be mated with an Alpha, Moreover, the alpha of the strongest and largest pack in the continent," she added.

I look at her when I feel fear in her voice. 

I understand what's she's having through, taking over as a Luna of the strongest pack is very difficult. She looks young and soft.

"It's fine, I will always be at your back and mother will teach you about the Luna duties," I said. 

She nodded her head. 

"Are you okay?"I asked. 

She nodded her head, she's more ease and calm now.

"Shall we go back to the ball?" I told her.

"Okay," she replied. I grab her hands and gently squeeze them.

"You're perfect to be my Luna," I said and kissed the back of her hands.
