Chapter 18 - Therapy

Alpha Edward POV

I step up to the podium and look out across the training field at my pack members. Curious eyes stare back at me. My gaze stops on my son and my new son-in-law at the front of the crowd. Neither of them is curious, but they both have questions swirling around in their eyes. My son-in-law fidgets with the seam of his pants.

The Lycan King’s word rush back to me, along with the council woman I talked to yesterday. Someone from within my pack did this to my daughter. It was an inside job. Who would have the guts to do something like that to my daughter, the pack, and me?

Then my eyes drift to my daughter’s best friend, standing beside my son-in-law. Why is she there? She should be back with her family.

A council member from behind me clears her throat and grunts, “It is time.”

I quickly clear my mind and focus on the matter at hand, the investigation. Using my alpha voice, I roar, “Quiet! The meeting has begun.”
