5. What If?

Author's POV

"Take your position and attack..."

Rose ordered. 

Rosetta hesitated, she knows that she can't win against her mother. She is far more experienced than her and whenever she fights with her mother, always ends up injured. Rosetta realized that she has done something wrong because that's when Her mother enters the fighting ground and shows her where she was wrong, her way of showing is not gentle. 

Rosetta attacked her but Rose simply blocked her attack and Threw Rosetta on the ground with loud thud. Jackson closed his eyes in pity while Rosetta tried not to cry out loud in pain as her back hit the hard ground.

"Get up..."

Rose ordered in firm tone and Rosetta did. Her mother isn't someone who will show mercy at this moment. 

"What is the rule no.1?"

Rose questioned.

Rosetta dusted her clothes and took her position with straight face, refusing to show her pain and ready to accept her mistakes. 

"Never show fear to your opponent... And I did. I was scared when you stood in front of me..."

She replied honestly. 

Rosetta attacked again but within seconds she was on the ground again.

"Rule no 6?"

Rose questioned, unfazed by her daughter's pain. She knows this pain will make her strong.

Rosetta stood up, taking her position she replied.

"When you are fighting keep your emotions aside... And I was Angry when I fought with them..."

Rose nodded in agreement.

"And Rule no 11?"

"Never mock anyone for their strength. Keep your pride and ego aside when you are in the battle ground... And I mocked them..."

Rosetta confessed honestly. 

"Good..."

Rose replied and looked at her sons. 

"You two will practice for extra 4 hours. Jackson you will Increase the difficulty level for them. They are not ready..."

She said and Jackson nodded. Three of them walked away leaving Rosetta with Rose. 

"Why were you angry?"

Rose questioned while wearing her jacket. 

"Because they were mocking me..."

Rosetta replied nonchalantly. 

"It won't happen again..."

She lied.

"Do you really love Skyler?... Or your father is feeding your mind with nonsense..."

Rose questioned firmly. 

Rosetta looked at her for a second nd replied.

"I love him... Dad is not forcing me..."

She was thinking about this agreement and she is aware that if she wants to marry Skyler then she have to lie to her mother like her father said. 

Rose narrowed her eyes at her.

"I don't believe you Rosa... I am your mother. I haven't trained you this hard to compromise in things like marriage. Love is important in life. If you are lying then you will regret it later..."

Rose warned. 

"I don't have to prove my love to anyone... You love dad too but you never showcase it and I am doing the same... I know you care about my future and I am grateful. Trust me, I love him... This marriage is not an agreement..."

Rosetta stated.

"You don't have to marry at this age... You are only 23..."

Rose's voice softened. She wasn't expecting marriage this early and let go her precious daughter. 

"I want to mom... I have my own plans..."

Rosetta mumbled.

"Can you give me a hug?"

Rose smiled sadly. 

"Come here"

Rose hugged Rosetta tightly.

"I will be always there for you Rosa, no matter what... Never think that you are alone..."

Rose kissed her forehead.

Rosetta was quite surprised by Rose's behavior, they hardly express their feelings to each other. But Rosetta felt relieved, she hugged Rose back. 

Damian was watching it with huge smile on his face. 

"Rosa, Skyler will be here to meet you in few minutes... Go, get ready..."

He said and Rosetta walked away with nod. 

"Why he is coming here?"

Rose asked. 

"They need to talk, I have some things to discuss too, baby... Don't worry..."

Damian pulled her closer by waist. 

"I don't know why but I don't trust any of this... I don't believe that Rosa can love someone..."

Rose shook her head. Damian closed his eyes and released a big sigh. 

"Rose, you were just like her still you fell for me... There is nothing unbelievable..."

Damian tried to make her believe. 

Rose scrunched her nose.

"I didn't fell for you... You made me. You are a cheater. I was drugged and you took advantage of me... You are evil man..."

She teased and Damian Smirked. 

"Because you were Playing hard to get... I had to do that..."

He chuckled making her smile.

"Are you fucking serious?"

Roy, skyler's younger brother yelled in disbelief. Skyler, max and Roy were in car, driving towards knight mansion.

""Who the fuck marry like this... Oh no, shit... Don't tell me you are seriously considering this shit... Arrange marriage? Bro you are fucked up..."

Roy shook his head. 

"Lower your voice Roy, it's irritating and keep your mouth shut in front of mom..."

Skyler said boringly leaning against his seat. 

"But how can you marry some random chick... Do you know how hard it is to get a perfect girl..."

Roy exaggerated. 

"He is not going to marry her Roy... Skyler has plan"

Max replied while driving the car.

"Really, what plan?"

Roy asked curiously. 

"He will put certain conditions in front of her which are really hard to accept for a girl... If she denies then well and good, the marriage will be automatically cancelled and if she accepted then it's fine, because then it won't affect skyler's life... Don't worry, we got this..."

Max assured. 

"But what if she is characterless, well I know many girls like that and trust me you don't want to deal with that... What if she tries to seduce you, I mean she is a daughter of Damian knight, She must be arrogant and manipulative. Skyler is powerful, he is smart and handsome, she must be waiting for the apportunity to throw herself at him..."

Roy said.

"Roy control your tongue... She is Rose's daughter and I am sure she is nothing like you described her... Relax, I know what I am doing... And you are just 22, how do you know these kind of girls... I never gave you permission to enter our casinos or clubs. Focus on your studies..."

Skyler said in bossy tone and Roy went silent making max chuckle. 

Max parked the car in front of the mansion and they got out of the car. Rose and damian was standing there to welcome him. 

Skyler smiled when he looked at Rose. Rose smiled too, it felt like it was just yesterday when she was holding little Skyler and today he is a big man. 

Skyler took her hand and kissed it.

"Good morning, Beautiful"

He gave his naughty smile and Rose chuckled. 

"Good morning, Skyler..."

Rose replied.

Damian snatched her hand away from skyler's hold. 

"Behave young man... You are not 5 years old anymore."

He sneered.

Skyler smirked at Damian.

"Still jealous uncle Damian... Come on..."

Skyler teased, he knows how much he irritates Damian. 

"You can Wait in the garden, Rosetta is coming in few minutes..."

Damian said. He took Rose, Roy and max inside the mansion so they can talk privately. 

Skyler sat on the chair in the garden. Small table was arranged in front of him, which has snacks and drinks. It was pleasant weather so he sat there patiently waiting for Rosetta to come.

Skyler was aware that Rose has One daughter but he never gets to see her. He was in abroad from last few years. Few doubts ran in his mind, He Scolded Roy few minutes ago but what if he is right. What if Rosetta is not good for him. What if things doesn't go like he has planned. 

He has come with the intention to reject the proposal, he was not ready for commitment. He was ready to face Sarah for it. He was ready to deal with his father too.

But only if he knew that things always doesn't go as we have planned.
