Chapter Six - Trouble for me

It had been a couple of days since I first met Scarlett, and to be honest, she has crossed my mind a lot. I have had a couple of days off, so my mind has not been as preoccupied as it would be if I were at work. But today, I was back at it, working eight a.m. to six p.m., but we would be kept busy. As today is Wednesday, it was me to open, and as always, Nate was standing waiting for me. I’m not sure if he is always early or if I always run late.

“Late as always,” Nate said, laughing.

“I can’t be late if it’s not past 8 a.m.” I replied, laughing back.

I opened up, and we got straight into the morning set-up. We know that Wednesdays are busy as we do a coffee and cake deal which always brings in many customers, especially the regulars. Who wouldn’t want coffee and cake for £1.50!
