I'm just fine!

I wore a seductive dress to impress him but I guess my plan did not work. He got pissed rather than being seduced and I felt awful about it. That was bizarre!

The first thing I did after that conversation was served his coffee. Then I checked all the emails, appointments and compiled the necessary documents for his signature. I made sure to sort all the pending of Lauren. I didn't want to pile up errands on my plate.

I was so busy finishing other documents when Kate, the senior finance officer came in holding a folder with a contagious smile on her face.

"Hi, Kelsie," she winked and I smiled at her in return.

“Is Mr. Davis in his office? Can you give this to him?" she handed me the documents which I politely accepted. She said it's the additional documents related to the financial records of the company and Mr. Davis requested to see it for review.

“Sure Miss Kate, no problem,” I responded and she turned her back after thanking me.

I knocked two times at the devil's office before turning the knob. “Mr. Davis, these documents are from finance,” I delivered my words calmly. He stared at me and nodded with his stoic face.

But before I could turn my back, I opted to talk something about my studies. I faked a cough “Mr. Davis, I just want to ask if Mr. Harris informed you that I’m still studying?" I spoke nervously but enough for him to hear.

“Yes, he did," He replied and disclosed that he was able to check my class schedules. "I'm certain it won't affect your classes," he added with a straight face. Also, he reminded me to finish my work on time so that it would be favorable for me to leave the office early and won't get late.

I checked tons of documents for hours and sorted them before wrapping for university.  I left an hour before my class to make sure I'll reach my class on time. However, the rain poured when I was about to go out of the building.

I sighed when I couldn't find my umbrella inside my bag. Such an unlucky day!. I only had enough money for my allowance and taking a cab wasn't included on my budget list. I was hoping for the rain to stop so that I could head towards the bus station because, surely, I'll get late if I choose to walk.

I hugged the coat that the devil lent me and I felt warm and comfortable.  I had my cardigan but it's kind of thin and wearing his coat was enough to sustain the cold. I looked at my watch and the time was twenty minutes before six. I hissed because I knew that I won't be able to catch my first subject.

"Why is the time runs so fast when you’re in a hurry?" the question popped on my mind before I heard the beeping of horns. A grey SUV stopped in front of me and I saw the devil as soon as the window was opened.

“Let’s go, Kelsie, I’ll drive you to the University," he called but I was reluctant to go with him.

“It's fine Mr. Davis, I’ll just wait for the rain to stop,” I refused his offer but in my mind, I wanted to accept because obviously, I needed a ride.

I saw him stepped out of his car with an umbrella and walked towards me. "Shit!" I murmured an expletive. With what he did, I had no strength to defy since he wasn't planning to back down.

I found myself seated in the shotgun seat in no time. “It's good that you're wearing the coat,” he muttered and diverted his focus on the road. I didn’t know what happened but I could remember that he held my hand when he assisted me into his car. I didn't know but every time we're close, there's an effect that I couldn't explain. Damn!

I kept silent on our way to the university because I had nothing to say either. The funny thing was,  I could hear my heartbeat because of too much silence. From my peripheral vision, I could tell that he was taking a glance at me from time to time but I focused my attention outside the window to avoid being distracted by his stares.

After 10 minutes, we were able to reach the University. I took off my seatbelt and shyly bid goodbye. “Thank you for the ride, Mr. Davis” he nodded before I hurried to my class.

Thankfully, I got on time before the professor started his lesson for the night. Not long, I felt my phone quivered and I was curious to know who it would be.

"I'm just around the area checking on something. I can drop you home later - Brent," he wrote and my heart pounded fast in disbelief. "He will what? Drop me home? My goodness!" A lot of questions ran through my mind. Honesty, his message affected me because I wasn't able to concentrate in my class.

When my class was about to end, my phone quivered again and I knew it was him.  "I'm outside. Will just wait for you," my lips parted in bewilderment because he was really serious about it.

"Mr. Davis, no need to wait for me. I'm just fine," I replied because it wasn't really necessary. But a part of me wanted to because it would be of help for my revenge if we stay close together. But I was thinking that I should not be easy to get and a little refusal is good.

"I'm at the gate. No need to defy," he responded quickly.

I right away gathered all my things and rushed outside. I saw him leaning on his SUV looking up at the sky while his hands were in his pocket. He was changed to his white long sleeve folded up until it reached his elbow. His Rolex watch was eye-catching and it looked good on him. It couldn't deny that he's attractive and could catch bypassers' attention.

"Mr. Davis, thank you for waiting but you don't have to," the first thing I said. He stared at me and I noticed a hint of a smile.

"No worries, Kelsie. I'm just around the area," he opened the car door and I jumped in before he ran to the driver seat.

Inside the car, I was stunned when I saw him leaning towards me. "F***!" Our faces were inches away from each other. His luxury perfume infiltrated my nose and it was like heaven. I closed my eyes and heard something click. That's when I realized that he buckled my seatbelt. Damn! To say I was embarrassed is an understatement.
