Flashes Of Past

After hearing what Alexander said, Everyone understood his motive. They also nodded at Joanna like they also wanted her to have some rest.

"Ok", Joanna nodded obediently. She already felt like her head was about to burst and couldn't anymore hold on to the excruciating pain. She decided to listen to Alexander's words for now. He was at least the person she still remembers as her companion in those one-month long darkness. If it were not for his voice encouraging her, she would have given up her struggles a long ago and succumbed to the darkness.

Even though Alexander knew Joanna was now completely forgotten about their relationship, at least she was willing to hear his advice made Alexander very happy and contented. He tried not to become disheartened just because she had a memory loss. He will stay on her side and help her through this phase too. If she lost memories permanently, then they can always make new ones.

Even though it was the best thing that she lost those painful memories of the past, that will only have her immense pain and disappointment, along with those who have their beautiful love story that Alex didn't want her to forget. He was afraid of this outcome, and that was why he arranged a particular doctor for her, but his efforts became futile.

"If miss White wants to have a rest, we should let her rest for a while." The doctor advised. If Alexander tells her to rest, he indirectly tells others to get lost. Abel was a wise man, and he was really aware of Alexander Smith's anger. He didn't want to tick him off and be in danger. He and others should leave now, leaving this couple alone.

Just like Abel knows what is cooking inside Alexander's mind, others also know it. The Alexander Smith may not show himself often in public, but once someone offends him, they will surely get a taste of his anger. He is a person who could destroy anyone with a simple wave of his hand. No one with the right mindset wouldn't be suicidal and provoke Alexander Smith.

"Then we should leave," Charles said. He also got the hint and nudged his crying wife. Natasha looked at him and got his signal too. She wiped her tears and tried to stop her sobbing, and nodded. Her tears kept on falling even after she wiped them a few times. She looked at the frail figure lying on the bed and moved towards the door to leave the room, but she kept looking back to glance at Joanna. Even though they are her parents, they know Alexander wouldn't like them staying there because he was too possessive towards Joanna, especially after the accident. Even though Natasha couldn't digest this at first, now she became accustomed to her soon-to-be son-in-law's attitude.

Everyone in the room started to leave. Alexander stood there for some seconds but seeing Joanna not reacting and not intending to make him stay, he decided to leave too. Once everyone left the ward, Alexander also decided to leave to give Joanna some space. He started to move out, but as soon as he moved, Joanna asked,

"You.... Leaving???" Her voice was filled with anxiousness, and she didn't want to stay alone. But, moreover, she didn't want him to leave her. She was alone all these times. She didn't want to be alone anymore. The only person she had at least a little recognition of in her mind was this man, even though what she remembered was just his voice.

Apart from the fear of being alone, An image of him abandoning her flashed in her mind for a second, combined with a heart-wrenching pain. For a second, she felt like she went through that pain, and those images frightened her for no reason. But, before she could grab anything from those flashes, it ended like never occurred. Joanna was too tired to contemplate this matter, so she let it slide for now. At present, she wants Alexander to stay so that she will have some company.

"Do you want me to stay?" He asked her. He couldn't suppress the joy after hearing those words. This shows at least she is noticing him. He felt contented. As long as there is a little gesture from her, he will be over the moon. She didn't even ask her parents to stop, but she asked him. Her face shows how much she wants him to stay. Also, there was fear of being alone too. Alexander didn't have any clue what happened with her at this moment and why she had that expression on her.

"Hmm", She replied very fast, like if she waited for a second, he would walk away. Seeing this, Alexander smiled and said.

"Okay I will stay if you want". Then he went to the chair next to her bed and sat on it. Actually, he wanted to jump in joy after she asked him to stay, but it would be too childish to do that for a man like him, so he stopped that thought.

Charles and Natasha, who left after the doctors noticed Alexander didn't come out with them, and Joanna stopped him. Charles's eyes showed a deep pain, While Natasha was stunned seeing it.

'Just because of my careless actions in the past, today, you subconsciously rejected me from staying by your side. It is natural, though. After all, you never liked to have any connection with me in the first place.' So Charles thought in his mind and moved forward without looking back.

.............

Inside the room, Joanna fell asleep after confirming Alexander would stay there with her. Alex watched her sleeping and thought about their first meeting.

Alex was walking in a hurry to catch the train when he was at his friend's village. He came there for some charity work and was about to head towards the school in that area. However, because of his father's call, he fell behind his friends and hurried to catch up to them. He noticed a girl coming from the other side with many books in her hand and tried to avoid bumping into her, but she came directly towards him. Losing balance because of the collision, both fell and books scattered on the floor.

"Don't you have eyes? Idiot," That girl scolded Alex with an angry face even though it was purely her mistake. She got up and moved her long hair to a side before squatting down to gather her books. Once her face came into his view, Alex got stunned by her looks. He never gets to see a beauty like her; it wasn't because of her face but her eyes he got attracted towards.

She was busy gathering things, while Alex kept starting her because of her beautiful face and electric blue eyes. She was a beauty that could capture anyone's attention. He wanted to retort in a harsh way but couldn't say anything because of that captivating eyes. His silence only made her furious, and she scolded him even more.

"It was you who bumped into me". Alex mumbled, seeing her kept on scolding him and got up from the floor with a few books in his hands that he picked up.

"How rude. Insensitive." She said with anger and stood up with her things and snatched the books in his hands.

"Jo. Come on. We are getting late" A group of girls called for her.

"Idiot", she mumbled before running towards her friends, but there was a smile on her face seeing his confused face that she tried to hide.

She ran away without looking back. Alex shook his head and walked towards the train where his friends were waiting for him. It was their first meeting, and from that day onwards, fate made them meet every now and then until that day which made them apart for a long time. A sigh left his lips, thinking about the past.....
