Petal’s POV

The morning sun streamed through my window as I stirred in bed, the fatigue from yesterday’s shopping trip still lingering in my body. I had slept earlier than usual the previous night, worn out from walking through countless shops with my best friend, Samy. It felt like the pillows and blanket had conspired to keep me in bed longer today, and when I finally glanced at my clock, my eyes widened in horror.

I’m late!

Throwing off the covers, I scrambled to get ready, skipping the usual leisurely pace of my mornings. My dad, noticing my rush, decided to drop me off at the university to save time.

“Eat something before you leave!” Mom called after me.

“I will!” I replied hurriedly, grabbing a piece of toast and some juice as I dashed out the door.

The car ride felt both too fast and too slow; I couldn’t shake the anxiety of being late for my first class. As we reached the university gates, I jumped out, thanking my dad quickly before rushing toward the English lecture hal

  • Sebastian's Obsession   107

Author’s POVDays slipped into weeks, and the calendar pages turned quietly as Petal sat for her final graduation examinations. The exam hall, with its long wooden desks and murmuring silence, became her world for those few hours each day. Her pen moved steadily across the paper, answering questions she had prepared for with sleepless nights and silent prayers. To everyone watching her from the outside, she looked calm, focused, and composed. But inside, Petal was balancing an entire universe of fear, hope, and carefully hidden plans.Sebastian did not miss a single day.No matter how busy his schedule was, no matter how many enemies he was crushing or how many meetings stretched late into the night, Petal always found a message from him waiting for her. A good morning before she left for college. A did you eat? in between exams. A call me when you reach home that she never dared to ignore. His voice, deep and commanding, wrapped around her like invisible chains—chains that were somet

  • Sebastian's Obsession   106

The heavy wooden door of the cabin closed softly behind Mark, sealing the room in silence. Sebastian D’Angelo didn’t turn immediately. He remained standing near the tall glass windows, one hand resting in his pocket, the city sprawled beneath him like a living chessboard. Every light, every moving car, every shadow felt deliberate tonight—as if the world itself was waiting for a single move. “Take your seat, Mark.” His voice was calm. Too calm. Mark obeyed without question, straightening his coat as he sat across the massive desk. Years of working under Sebastian had trained him to recognize that tone. This wasn’t a routine discussion. This was the kind of meeting that changed trajectories. “Sir,” Mark began cautiously, “is there anything I can help you with? Did something go wrong with the project?” Sebastian finally turned, his sharp gaze locking onto Mark’s face. “Nothing is wrong with the project.” That should have been reassuring. It wasn’t. “Yes,” Sebastian continued, w

  • Sebastian's Obsession   105

author's POV After talking with her mom, Petal quietly walked back to her room. Her heart felt heavy, her eyes swollen from holding back tears. The moment she closed the door, the silence around her grew louder than ever. She took her drawing book from the shelf and sat down near the window where the evening light gently touched her face. Petal opened the sketchbook to a blank white page.Petal’s hands shook as she clutched her pencil, tracing trembling lines across the untouched white sheet of her drawing book. Each stroke was uncertain, blurred by the endless stream of tears falling from her reddened eyes. The salty drops trickled down her cheeks, wetting the paper in scattered, translucent blotches that threatened to ruin her art—but she drew anyway, desperate for distraction, for release. The dim lamplight in her room cast gentle shadows over the page, reflecting the turmoil inside her. Why did she feel so lost? Why did Sebastian’s words sting more than usual tonight? Petal

  • Sebastian's Obsession   104

Author’s POVAfter hurting Petal with those hateful words that cut deeper than any wound could, Sebastian pressed a brief, almost guilty kiss on her forehead. It wasn’t out of affection—it felt more like a punishment wrapped in tenderness, the kind that left her heart more confused than before. Without saying another word, he turned away and left her house. The sound of the door closing echoed through the silent hall like a final judgment. It was already 9:00 p.m. The night outside was quiet, but inside Petal’s heart, a storm raged.Tears slid down her cheeks, silent and uncontrollable. She sat on the edge of her bed, her hands trembling, her mind replaying Sebastian’s voice again and again, as if his words were branded into her soul.“Listen, flower,” he had said, his tone low yet commanding, the warmth in his eyes gone cold. “Don’t test me again. Don’t even think about staying away from me.”Petal blinked at him in disbelief back then, not recognizing the man who had once held her w

  • Sebastian's Obsession   103

Author’s POVHer pulse fluttered violently beneath his fingers as Sebastian’s hand tightened around her jaw. The room felt smaller—air thick with the weight of his anger and the storm brewing in his dark eyes. Her lips puckered from the force, trembling slightly, and she could barely breathe. Fear and shock collided inside her chest, freezing her in place.“Think before screaming at me,” he growled, his breath hot against her skin. The sharpness in his tone sliced through the silence, leaving her paralyzed. His fingers dug deeper into her soft skin, and for a fleeting moment, Petal thought she saw something flicker in his gaze—something raw and unspoken behind that rage. But then, as suddenly as it had come, the fire in his eyes dimmed.Sebastian blinked. The world around him shifted. The reality of what he was doing slowly crashed down. The pressure of his grip. The pain in her tearful eyes. The way her body trembled beneath his touch. He froze. For a moment, the room spun in silence

  • Sebastian's Obsession   102

author's POV The air in the room was thick—so dense with Sebastian’s rage that even the silence trembled under its weight. The low hum of the evening outside did nothing to lighten the tension that clung to every molecule around them. The storm in his eyes burned hotter than the dusk’s dying sun. “You can’t get away from me. You are mine,” he roared, his voice breaking through the air with thunderous force. “Why are you not understanding this, *you are mine!*” Petal flinched. Her body trembled as his words crashed down upon her. Tears streamed down her cheeks, cutting through the softness of her face like wet trails of defeat. His hand gripped her jaw so tightly that she could feel her pulse fluttering beneath his fingers. Her lips puckered from the pressure, her breath caught somewhere between fear and shock. “Think before screaming at me,” he growled, his breath hot on her skin. For a moment, time seemed to stop. The reality before her was suffocating—Sebastian, the man sh
