MARK

I awoke to the sounds of birds chirping outside. I noted how it had been a bit since I had been on a morning run. But I felt like the reason I hadn’t was absolutely worth it. I looked over at my mate sleeping soundly. kissing her forehead gently so as not to wake her, I slipped out of bed and went to the bathroom. After relieving myself and brushing my teeth I went to the balcony. Sitting in one of the chairs I remembered what had happened the night before, before my mate went into her heat. When the rogues demanded they speak to me. I didn’t want to worry my mate but I knew I needed to tell her what had happened. How they demanded I turn her over to them or they would attack. Of course I had no intentions of handing her over. I knew that we would be able to come out of an attack against them with minimal damage but if they had vampires on their side then it would be harder. I was so lost in my thoughts that I didn’t hear my mate approaching.

“what’s wrong? I can feel your troubled through the mate bond.” She questioned. She stood in front of me wrapped in a bed sheet and I guessed she had nothing underneath it.

“It’s nothing we need to discuss right now my angel. We will talk about it when I call a meeting of the higher ranks of the pack later this afternoon. you will need to be there. But for now we will need to see off those who came for the ceremony.” i said, trying to push away the troubled feelings so as not to worry her more then necessary.

“Hmm. Well clearly it is important since we’re so lost in your thoughts that you came to sit out here without any clothes on.” She smirked. I looked down at myself to see that I was, in fact, completely naked. I looked back up at her to see her smirking still. Then she opened the bed sheet to reveal her naked body and climbed onto my lap straddling me. I could feel her warm core against my member and it was beginning to make me hard.

“Be careful my angel, don’t start something you can’t finish.” I warned her. She grinned at me and then kissed me. It started out as an innocent kiss but then turned passionate. I felt her getting wet and could smell her arousal and I had become so hard that I wanted to take her right then. She pulled back and started kissing my jaw, making her way down to the mate mark, she kissed and nibbled it, making me moan and grind myself against her with need and desire. She pulled her fangs out and licked the mark. I was shocked for a moment that she could even do that and looked at her to see her smirking again. then she move her hips so she was grinding herself against my member. I didn’t think I could get hard again that quickly but something about her made it happen. I pulled her close, ran my nose against her jaw and then bit into her mate mark. she moaned and squirmed and I felt her juices dripping from her core as she climaxed.

“That’s for doing it to me.” I smirked after I pulled back. She just grinned at me and then started to grind herself against my member again. “As much as I want to stay here with you like this we need to get cleaned up and go see off the visitors.” I whispered to her. She groaned and then slowly moved herself up and off of me. She wrapped the bed sheet around her body and then made her way inside and towards the bathroom. I followed her and started the shower. We got in and cleaned ourselves. I had gotten a mind link from my beta and my parents about seeing off the visitors and making sure her heat was over so they knew if they needed to take care of it for me or not. I assured them all was well and we would be down shortly. I knew a breakfast buffet was arranged so the visitors could leave with full bellies.

We got out of the shower and went to the walk in closet. Getting dressed we then made our way out of the room and down to the dining hall. There was quite a few people in there already eating. We got our breakfast and joined a few of the other alphas. Many wolves approached us and apologized for their behaviors the previous evening. No one blamed them for how they acted. Once a female is in heat the unmated males cannot control how their wolves cause them to behave. They react to the chemicals the females release. We ate and chatted with everyone and after breakfast we went to the front of the pack house so we could individually say goodbye to everyone who came. We got a lot of congratulations and goodbyes. Eventually everyone had left and it was finally just our pack.

“We need to have a meeting.” I told beta Jack.

“Alright. I’ll get the head warrior and gamma.” He said.

“My dad and mom as well please.” I replied. He nodded and then walked off. I took Oakleys hand and we headed to my office. I grabbed a few items that would be needed for the meeting and then made my way out the door.

“Where are we going?” Oakley asked.

“One of the meeting rooms. It’s bigger and can accommodate us all better.” I replied. We reached a room down the hallway a little further and I opened the door. There was a big round table in the center with chairs all around it. I made sure they were comfortable chairs. I put all the materials I had gathered onto the table and then we sat down to wait for everyone else to join us.
