Chapter 19: The Love Triangle

I can not believe my ears. He said it. He has finally said it. I thought he didn't care. After what happened in the morning, I thought he just wanted to use me like all the other men. But he is different. He cares about me. I like how it makes me feel warm inside. My tummy feels like a big pot of squishy goo and the butterflies won't stop fluttering. I feel alive right now.

I kiss him back. Nikolai. I kiss him with such frenzy that I forget that I am standing before him stark naked. He does not seem to mind my state of undress. He kisses me back with such fervor that we end up on the floor. He cups my face gently and kisses my forehead. It is sweet and gentle, nothing like I have ever felt before. In this moment, I feel all my walls crumble. My defenses are broken right now and I don't think they will ever go up again.

I look at him with my night vision and I can see the desire in his eyes. My breath hitches and emotion wells up in my throat as I look up at him.
