Chapter 1

At the pack's corporate meeting, the new finance intern flashed a financial report onto the projector screen.

"Alpha, I'm reporting Aurora for embezzlement! She used her position to wire massive amounts of company funds into her private account. I demand she be banished immediately!"

That girl, Lily, tipped her chin up and slammed a stack of files onto the conference table.

Alpha Jasper and the elders locked their eyes on me. Their glares felt like claws.

I almost laughed out loud.

Jasper’s company had been on the verge of bankruptcy. To save it, I secretly dumped millions of my own dollars to fill the hole.

The "embezzled funds" she was barking about? That was my own money.

And now? I need this pack of ungrateful mutts to approve me moving my own money?

...

Dead silence filled the room.

On the screen, bright red arrows pointed to an anonymous offshore account. Lily’s masterpiece.

She leaned on the table, looking like a fanatic ready to cleanse the pack of scum.

"Alpha, the Red Peak Pack has ironclad rules. Theft and betrayal are unforgivable. As COO, Aurora stole millions for herself. Think of how many pack members that money could feed!"

Lily sounded so damn righteous.

She clicked to the next slide—a massive sheet.

"I tracked it. Over the last few months, she transferred five million dollars under fake project names. Jasper, my Alpha, our pack is growing. Every penny matters. If we don't weed out this parasite, how can you lead us?"

All eyes turned to the head of the table. To Jasper.

My Alpha. The leader of the Red Peak Pack. And the man I had secretly been with for five years.

Years ago, he broke off to start his own pack. He had nothing.

I tapped into the hidden wealth of my mother’s bloodline—the ancient, aristocratic Arkin family—to build Thorne Industries for him.

To protect his pride, I dropped my prestigious last name.

I played the role of a lone wolf with zero background.

I was his secret lover for five years and his right hand in the company for two.

But right now, Jasper’s handsome face showed zero intention of defending me.

His jaw clenched. His long fingers tapped the table. He was weighing his options.

"Aurora." He finally spoke. His voice was a cold Alpha command. "Do you admit to Lily’s claims?"

I stared at him.

My heart just stopped.

He was interrogating me?

Two years ago, he held me close, panting in my ear: "Aurora, I’m sorry you have to hide. Once I’m on top, the whole world will know you are my mate. My Luna."

A year ago, when the company almost went under, I sold my private collections to save him. He told me: "Aurora, you are the true foundation of this pack."

And now, he was asking if I plead guilty?

I scanned the room.

Kane, the Marketing Director, was staring at his teacup. Just last week, he used my approved budget to buy his mistress a new car.

Jenny, the HR Manager, looked at me with pure disgust. This was the same woman who begged me for cash advances every month for her "sick mother."

I finally got it. Next to power, my money and love meant absolutely nothing.

"What do you think?" I asked. My voice was dead calm.

Jasper looked away.

"The evidence is clear. Aurora, you are a founding member. You are my... partner. But rules are rules. The pack comes first."

He paused and gave his verdict.

"Effective immediately, you are suspended as COO. I am taking back all your financial access."

He stood up, walked over, and held out his hand.

He wanted the black-gold corporate card.

A nasty smirk crept onto Lily’s face. "A wise choice, Alpha! I also demand she face the Elders for a trial!"

Jasper hesitated. He looked at me and shook his head. "No trial. A pack-wide announcement is enough."

A pack-wide announcement. Suspended. Stripped of power.

I looked at his handsome, unfamiliar face.

That card was backed by my family trust. But I didn't say a word.

I saw the blind ambition in Lily’s eyes. I saw the wounded Alpha pride in Jasper’s eyes.

He wanted to prove he didn't need me to be king. He wanted to prove he controlled everything. Including me.

Two years of my silence gave him the delusion that he owned me.

"Fine."

I stood up, pulled the heavy black card from my purse, and dropped it into his palm.

The cold metal hit his skin.

"Here is the access. Make your announcement." I smiled at him. It felt toxic. "My Alpha, I hope the company... runs smoothly."

Jasper froze. He didn't expect me to surrender so easily. A flash of guilt crossed his eyes. "Aurora, I'm glad you understand. It’s... for the pack."

Lily snatched the card from his hand. She gripped it like a queen's scepter.

"See, Aurora? Why make it so ugly when you could just hand it over?"

I looked at her with pity.

The idiot had no clue. That card was tied to the credit of the Arkin Family Trust.

She didn't steal power. She stole a ticking time bomb that would blow Thorne Industries to dust.

But I didn't expect one last epilogue. That night, I was heading home from a charity gala. The car drove past a run-down neighborhood.I was about to close my eyes to rest when I spotted a figure under a highway overpass.A homeless man in rags squatted by a trash can, his shaking hands digging for something. His hair was a mess, his beard overgrown. His clothes were torn, reeking of garbage. But that back... that once proud and broad silhouette..."Pull over," I said suddenly."Miss?" James was a bit confused."Stop the car. Right here."The luxury sedan slowly rolled to a stop.I rolled down my window, and the freezing night wind rushed in.The homeless man seemed to feel something. He snapped his head back.It was Jasper. After six months, he was completely emaciated. Hollow cheeks, dark eyes. His once handsome face was weathered and broken, making him look a decade older. But the most shocking part was his aura. That dominant Alpha energy was entirely gone. When Jasper saw me, shoc

Six months later.I sat in my chair as Silver Moon's Northern President, reviewing the quarterly financial reports. The numbers looked beautiful. Twenty percent higher than projected."Miss Aurora," my assistant Amy knocked and walked in. "You have an inspection at the newly acquired mall this afternoon. The car is ready.""Alright." I closed the file and grabbed my purse. "Let's go."This luxury mall, sitting dead center in downtown, was an asset the Arkin family bought last month. Total value: eight hundred million dollars.I needed to see how it was running myself. At 3 PM, the black town car pulled up to the main entrance. The mall manager was already waiting, bowing respectfully to lead the way."Miss Aurora, welcome." He reported carefully. "Sales for all major luxury brands are climbing steadily. A few top-tier boutiques are doing exceptionally well."I nodded, walking slowly down the marble corridors. The mall was lavish. Crystal chandeliers sparkled overhead. Every detail was

A few days later, Thorne Industries declared bankruptcy. They didn't have to, really. But he crossed Marcus and me. His name was toxic in the werewolf world; no one dared to work with him.Add in my massive lawsuit, and he was completely finished.Lily was banished.I heard she looked pathetic when she left, pelted with garbage by furious pack members. She tried to find Jasper, but he beat her mercilessly."It's all because of you, you bitch! I lost everything because of you!"That beating shattered her dreams of ever becoming a Luna.A month later, I saw Jasper downstairs at the Silver Moon building. He was skin and bones, unshaven, wearing a cheap jacket. He came to beg."Aurora, for the sake of the love we used to have, please drop the lawsuit." He kept his head down, his voice raspy. "I have nothing now. I'm drowning in debt. If you keep suing me, my life is over."I sat in the backseat of my custom bulletproof car, twirling the Arkin family signet ring on my finger."Jasper, did y

I didn't rush to reply.I let the storm brew all night. The next morning, Jasper and Lily were hosting a "tell-all" livestream for the entire werewolf nation, broadcasting from their trashed former office. They wanted to play the victim card, win sympathy, and force me to drop the lawsuit.Lily went makeup-free. Her eyes were red and swollen, looking absolutely pitiful.Jasper stood beside her, looking haggard. He seemed to have aged ten years overnight."Fellow wolves," Lily choked out. "I only did what was loyal to the pack. I didn't know the price of upholding the rules would be this high...""Aurora... she didn't just embezzle our funds. She partnered with outsiders to destroy the Red Peak pack, to destroy our future!"Cameras flashed. The livestream chat was flooded with sympathy.[Support Red Peak Pack!][Down with capital bullies!]I sat in my bright, spacious corner office, sipping premium roast coffee while watching the circus. The timing was perfect.I texted my PR Director:

My new life began at Silver Moon.Marcus made me President of the Northern Region and gave me a top-tier legal team.My first move? Suing Thorne Industries and Lily personally.By afternoon, every wolf on Wall Street knew my name. Thorne Industries' cash flow was dead. They lost the Silver Moon deal. They were on the verge of bankruptcy.Jasper called.I stared at the familiar name on the screen. I let it ring for a long time before slowly picking up."Hello?""Aurora! What do you want from me?!" Jasper's voice was hoarse and desperate. "Are you trying to kill me? We're mates!""Jasper, you forgot we were mates when you humiliated me in public.""It was a misunderstanding! Come back, and I'll give everything back to you!""The building's new owner terminated the lease. The reason cited? A tenant of questionable moral character.""Jasper, you ruined everything. You did this to yourself.""Aurora, we were in love once..." He switched tactics, his voice softening as he played the guilt ca

All the air left the room.Marcus Sterling’s silver-grey eyes flicked slowly between Jasper and me.Sweat beaded on Jasper’s forehead. He opened his mouth to explain, but Marcus raised a hand, cutting him off."Alpha Jasper." Marcus’s voice was low and commanding, dripping with the power of an ancient bloodline. "I agreed to this meeting two years ago purely out of respect for the Arkin family heir."Marcus paused. His gaze landed on the panicking Jasper."A parasite," Marcus continued, his eyes fixed on Jasper. "A leech who uses his mate to climb, only to turn on her, has no right to work with Silver Moon."The words were a hammer blow to his fragile Alpha ego.His face flushed red, then drained bone-white."Mr. Sterling, please let me explain—" Jasper’s voice trembled. "There’s a misunderstanding—""A misunderstanding?" Marcus sneered. "I just heard you accuse the Arkin heir of embezzling company funds with my own ears."Lily finally snapped out of it. She stepped forward to defend h
