Missing Homecoming Queen

MISSING HOMECOMING QUEEN

“It’s nice to finally get a chance to dance with you,” Ian stated, keeping one hand on Chloe’s wrist and the other hand intertwined with her hands.

“Are you blushing?” Ian asked again, seeing her face.

“No, I’m not,” Chloe looked up at Ian. Being with Ian somewhat made her forget about the murder. Within a few minutes’ gap, Becca’s face popped up in her vision.

“You seem so distracted. Aren’t you?” Ian brought her back to the present. She nodded her head “I don't know, I can’t get my mind off being locked in the locker.”

Roshord school is rich enough to have everything. Even the locker is enough for a person to be entered, which becomes a disadvantage.

“You should try to forget that. Now see me, Iam here, everyone here happily dancing. Take a deep breath and relax. Iam here for you,” He assured her. Chloe took a deep breath to let go of Becca’s face out of her vision. She’s regretting that she can’t able to tell this to her closest friend Ian. ‘What if I told this to Ian’ this thought suddenly entered her mind, making her shiver? When she’s back in the world, she noticed Ian’s eyes on her.

“What’s wrong?” she widened her eyes. He just shook his head. Both are close enough to feel their breath. At the moment, Ian did something he never thought of all these years. He kissed her. Chloe doesn’t want to break it. Nobody kissed her. She doesn’t know how to kiss a guy, she just let him kiss her. When he looked up, she is unable to ask any questions.

“What does this mean?” She questioned innocently.

“I...” Ian can’t able to figure out what he feels about her.

“I will go get some drink. Wait here.” He changed the topic and walked to get some drink. "Attention students. It’s time to tell who’s the homecoming queen,” a young lady announced in mike. Everyone’s eagerly ready to hear it.

“Here, have it” Ian gave a glass of champagne to Chloe.

“The homecoming queen is...”

“Becca Sparks,” she finished.

Chloe dropped the glass after hearing her name. It’s shattered into many pieces. Everyone’s eyes watched Chloe.

“Iam sorry. I will clean it up,” Chloe bent down in panic. Caleb’s eyes watched her younger sister from afar.

“Where is Becca?” the lady asked again.

“She’s not here for a while,” Tiffany shouted.

“Maybe we will get her,” Wes volunteered and walked out of the hall with tiffany.

“Are you okay? Did you got injured by the glass,” Ian stared at her legs.

“Iam fine. The glass slipped out of the hands,” she lied, looked at her fine legs. Still, after an hour, there’s no sign of Homecoming queen Becca. Even after calling her parents, there’s no sign of her. Everyone wondered a lot. The students were sent home. Charlotte, Chloe, Caleb, entered the house. Care is waiting for them seated on the couch.

“What happened today?” She nervously asked no one in particular.

“Becca is the homecoming queen, and they sent us home when they can’t able to find her. Her parents don’t know about anything. The last call on her phone is Tiffany and Wes. So, they are still searching for her in school,” Charlotte explained, taking a seat next to Care, throwing her handbag on the floor in frustration.

“Oh, my god. We did a big mistake,” Care shouted.

“We forgot to destroy her phone. It’s still with her. What if they found it?”

“Shit.” Caleb kicked the nearby table with his foot.

“What can we do now?” Chloe panicked.

“Nothing to do. We are going to get caught. Maybe I should go back and...”

“Stop it, Caleb. We already took more risks. We can’t give more evidence. Iam not going to jail, neither you,” Charlotte shouted from her throat.

“We should go to our rooms. We can’t keep up shouting at each other. We are making more noise,” Care told and slammed her door shut without waiting for another’s reply. She can’t able to sleep. No one can able to sleep peacefully. She took her diary to write about today. Her hands trembled when taking the pen. This is her personal diary. Not even her sisters dare to open it.

Dear diary,

Today something happened which I can’t even believe. It’s haunting me. It’s killing me. I can’t live my life happily. Charlotte killed Becca. Actually, it can be called self-defence. Becca shot me first, so my sister killed her. She only knocked her, but Becca died in a flash of seconds. We four buried her in the school’s backyard in a gap. We cleaned up all the evidence, but Becca’s face is still in my mind. What if we were all caught and sent to jail? I don’t know how many years we will stay in jail. No one had the intention to kill her. I wish I could go back to the day’s beginning and chance everything. If I could do that, I wouldn’t have mentioned Daniel to Bill. Bill wouldn’t have proposed to me, he wouldn’t have been angry with me. I won’t be able to know that Bill sent that footage. Becca won’t even pay attention to me. She may not steal Chloe’s phone and locked her. I will get some air outside. I might have been talking normally with Bill and clary and giving cupcakes to students. Becca will be the homecoming queen. There’s a chance of having some problems because of Becca, but nothing worse than being a murderer. Iam relaxed that she’s dead but because of her we are all going to live a nightmare. Many questions going through my mind.

With that, Care was about to sleep. Whatever happens, she can’t stop herself from sleeping. Then she widened her eyes and took the diary kept in her bag. She can’t risk it by having an open diary near her when she’s sleeping. After she felt her diary is safe in the bag, finally she can able to sleep.
