Goodbye

GOODBYE

He took her to the Balcony through the stairs. It’s the best view to see the night sky, stars.

“I will come here regularly to find some peace,” he breathed slowly. She nodded and was lost in thoughts.

“So, what do you think of me?” He asked her still looking at the sky.

“You are a celebrity and I always admired your movies,” he stopped her by telling “Whoa, stop. Iam not asking about the past when I don’t even know you. Tell me, what do you think of me after we met?” He explained.

“I... I was disappointed at first seeing you with a Becca. Then I fixed something in my mind. You are rude and mean in real life just like her. Soon, I didn’t feel like you were bad. Iam still regretting slapping you in front of everyone.”

“Iam so over it. I didn’t feel embarrassed,”

“Why you didn’t get angry with me? You can even make my life miserable for slapping you. Why you didn’t do that?” she widened her eyes waiting for answers.

"You ask too many questions. I can’t answer." He turned away. He wants to answer her that he likes her since she slapped him. There are no girls who can able to ignore him. But she seems to be a different woman, which made him wonder a lot about her.

“What about changing the questions? What do you think of me when I met you for the first time? Why did you come to see me again? Just two questions, then we can leave to party,” Care demanded.

“Hmm... Iam shocked that someone dares to slap me. I want to make you resign your job then I came to hear your apology. That’s it,” Daniel lied.

“Really. I don’t believe it. Why did you get my number?”

“You are annoying. No more questions,” Dan closed her mouth with his hands, making her silent.

“Okay, one last thing I want to take a photo with you,” Care blurted without hesitation, taking his hands off her mouth. When every girl got his autograph and selfie in front of her. She didn’t even ask one for her.

“I wonder why you are asking me this after all these days.” He smirked.

“No need. We can go now,” Daniel grabbed her wrist, stopping her from walking away.

“It’s okay. Take it,” He ordered. She fumbled to take her phone and hesitated.

“What now? Is your phone charge's dead?”

“No, Iam short in front of you. I can’t cover your face.”

“That’s a simple problem.” He took the phone. Daniel tried to cover the whole night sky view with them. Care smiled nervously, standing next to him. But he didn’t feel satisfied by the distance. He wrapped his arms around her shoulder, standing closer to her. When he clicked, Care was staring at him instead of posing to the selfie. 'I wish I could know what you are thinking,' Dan thought to himself, looking at her.

“Um... It’s getting late,” Ian appeared in front of them.

“I know that,” He replied and soon they all are on the limo. When they arrived at school, Daniel motioned them to go inside.

“Aren’t you coming?” Caroline wondered.

“No, I got some work, and…” Daniel trialled off, looking at his phone.

“Iam going to New York within three days. I won’t be returning for at least a year,” He informed her with difficulty in his voice,

“It’s...” Care went speechless. A look of disappointment can be seen in her eyes.

“It seems like this is our last time to talk,”

“Nope, I will be coming back,” he assured her by smiling and not showing any reaction on his face. Before Care can tell her goodbye, Charlotte grabbed her by her arms and got out of the limo. Care just walked without paying attention to anyone. Soon the limo took off.

“Come here,” Clary waved at Care with excitement. She has a plate full of cupcakes.

“Yummy. Is this for me?” Care distracted herself by the tasty cupcakes in front of her

“Definitely not,” Clary shoved away." It’s for the students. Now we should give it to everyone. Let’s start working," Clary said cheerfully, making her way through the crowded hall. Neon lights are brighter, girls and boys are in amazing dresses.

“Hey. What are you doing?” someone touched Care shoulder. Care jerked and lost her balance.

“Bill” she let out a sign and got hold of the plate of cupcakes tightly.

“You scared me,”

“I just called you. Is something wrong?” Care hesitated to tell him about Daniel.

“Danie is going to New York in a few days”

“What? When did you start talking with him?” Bill suddenly shouted by getting some of the student’s attention on him. They both are standing in a corner of the hall where they arranged all the snacks and food items for students.

“Lower your voice. I have been talking with him for a while. What’s the matter with you?”

“Nothing. You shouldn’t be talking to him. He’s an ex-boyfriend of Becca, and you shouldn’t talk to people who are connected with Becca,” Bill snapped.

“You don’t know about Daniel. He’s not like Becca and he called me to his mansion on the day he broke up with Becca to…” she stupidly let out the thing, which has to be a secret. Bill doesn’t know that she is involved somehow in the reason for Daniel and Becca’s break-up.

“So, he called you on purpose. What for? Was it for the footage?” Bill shouted again.

“How do you know that?” Care asked, raising her eyebrow. How does Bill know about the footage? She didn’t tell him.

“Everyone in the school knows about the footage.” Bill calmly answered, but his hands trembled when Care looked at him suspiciously.

“Yes. But how are you saying that Daniel called me to his mansion to talk about the footage?” she firmly asked, making him look at her. Eyes always tell the truth.

“I mean that he called you to tell that someone took the footage and he finally broke up with Becca. Am I not clear? I should get to work,” sweat dripping off his face, Bill turned away.

“Bill,” she got hold of his arm “Why are you acting weird? Are you hiding something from me?” Care asked him slowly, with patience.

“Is there anything to tell, do it now, or else I won’t talk with you again,” she warned and make herself clear. She can easily spot the difference when her closest friend is lying or hiding something.

“I sent that footage to him,” Bill made himself loud and clear.
