WOLF’S MASK
Caleb blinked at his sister giving a perplexing look.
“Someone stole my diary. I wrote everything that happened yesterday,” Care told with regret.
“You are insane. How can you do something like that? Did we go to some carnival to note it in the diary as a memory? It’s a murder case. Seriously, I don’t understand why you did something like that.” Caleb questioned her with a little bit less anger. He knows nothing is going to change after this. They can’t live a normal life after this incident. All they need to do is survive.
9:00 pm
There’s a bang on the room door before Caroline could answer Caleb.
“It’s nine o’clock,” Caleb glanced at his watch. The banging is getting louder and louder.
“Did you lock the door before getting in?” Care questioned him. When Caleb nodded, Care moved towards the door. She looked outside through the hole. She could see anyone outside except the sound. Suddenly something showed up in front of their eyes, scaring her to death. She stumbled and Caleb caught her.
“Someone is standing. I can’t tell it’s a person or not. I can only spot a wolf's face. It looked so horrible.” She explained in a trembling voice. Caleb moved to see it. When he looked at it with one eye open, an axe came cutting through the door. It’s just a few inches away from Caleb’s eye. He jerked back from it. If it got one inch nearer, Caleb’s eye would be stabbed.
“Goddamn, are you okay?” Care looked at him.
“We should go out of here. Someone outside is going to kill us. Grab the diary,” He ignored her concerned question.
“We have nowhere to go,” Care said with impatience, taking her diary-keeping it near her chest. Something stuck in Caleb’s mind. He glanced at the window.
“Whatever you are thinking, just drop it, Caleb,” Care can’t take some risk by jumping from the window. Although there is in the stairs, one misstep they are sure as hell as dead.
“Call our sisters. We are going to jump,” Caleb confirmed and run towards it. They need to break the glass to jump.
“Iam calling.” Care dialled Chloe’s number since it’s the number she spotted at the top.
“Hey, sis,”
“Caleb and I got stuck in the abandoned house no.13 near the graveyard. Come, there fast or we will be killed,” Care spoke fast while on the other side the wolf shaped person or something cut off the door with another axe. Their action is so fast than an ultra-speed jet.
“I don’t understand, Caroline. why are...” Care cut her off by hanging up. She hurried to get the only table in the room. She moved it towards the door to stop the person from entering. Caleb took a rod from the room and shattered the glass with heavy force and speed.
“It’s nearly done. Come on,”
‘No," Care blankly stared in fear. Her arm is already injured, she can’t risk it again.
“Do you want to escape with less injury than being dead?” Caleb shouted. Care looked at the door and Caleb. This is her last chance. She fixed her mind of doing whatever to escape, not only today but in her life. being strong is the only choice.
“Incoming,” she muttered, rushing to his side. Caleb jumped over the window and stood on the edge, holding one hand on the edge of the window and the other to help Care to take the first step. She slowly jumped next to him, clutching her diary tightly. Before they could take another careful step, the table was knocked down, the door was half-opened. Both of them saw a person fully dressed in black, like a spy and having an awful wolf mask. The wolf's mask looked like a real wolf's skin more than a mask. They can’t tell whether it’s men or women. That person is holding two axes in each hand. They can’t stare at it for more than a minute.
“Fast,” Caleb motioned to jump her on the below pipeline two steps below the window. Closing her eyes for a second, Care jumped on it with Caleb carefully. It’s difficult to do something like this with an injured arm and also protecting a diary.
“We can make it. Follow my lead,” Caleb ordered. Before Care can nod, an axe came through, cutting on the edge of the window. Care stumbled by the sudden fear, lost her balance. She fell, in sudden reaction Caleb fell next to her sister. Fortunately, they landed on bushes. Care can only see the dark view in front of her. The backside of her body hurts like hell. She doesn’t know Caleb jumped to save her. He grabbed her hands and ran without turning back. She ran with pain in her legs.
“Caroline, Caleb,” Charlotte came a little late.
“Don’t turn back?” Caleb said breathlessly.
....
“I don’t know why you called us and running like seeing a ghost.” Charlotte desperately looked for answers when they reached home safely.
“You said, you are going to Clary’s house. What are you doing near the graveyard,” Chloe raised a question, silently.
“Someone is tracking us, and they know we killed Becca. I don’t know whether to say they or he or she, but that stupid bastard or bitch is sending threatening messages. I know you will all be angry with me, but it’s all because of my diary. That unknown person stole my diary and now I got it back. But Iam sure something’s going wrong,” Care frustratedly explained after catching her breath.
“Okay, okay. I need more time to catch up on what’s happening,” Charlotte kept her hands on her head.
“It’s not over. I don’t know who’s doing this, but it’s calling them as M.W. Do you know what the hell is M.W? It sounds stupid. It’s having Ruby’s phone. Who permitted him/her to steal something that belonged to my girlfriend? I went to get it back, but its motive is to kill us for not giving Ruby’s phone. Except for Care, she got her goddamn dangerous diary back,” Caleb anxiously explained, running his hand on his hair.
Caroline looked at her diary when he mentioned it. Soon her reactions turned like she’s seeing some extinct species in front of her eyes. “You are wrong. It doesn’t give my diary back in one piece. All my writings are gone, vanished. What the hell?”
BLAME “What do you mean by ‘what the hell’, Care? You are holding the diary right now,” Charlotte snapped. “There’s nothing written in my diary. All my writings are gone. It’s gone. How’s that possible? Are we dealing with some devil?” Caroline babbled, pacing back and forth in the hall. “Give it to me,” Charlotte snatched it. Her face became pale by seeing it. She believed in Care. Soon she flipped each page to find two written pages that remain the same. “The day we killed Becca remains in this diary. All other things have vanished,” Charlotte threw the Diary to Care, acting like it’s some kind of poison. “You are right. But there’s a message on the last page,” Caroline carefully opened it. Finally, you noticed it. Phew. It’s good. I know everything has vanished and you don’t need to worry because everything will reappear, eventually. It's my secret trick. Now don’t think everything is over. You all need to do
SCOTT’S BEST FRIEND “My sister, she did this?” Chloe can’t able to accept what she’s hearing. “Indeed, yes. I should leave now. The detectives going to ask me some questions.” Tiffany broke the hug, washed her face, and walked out of Chloe’s sight. Chloe ran straight into Charlotte’s class. Every student left except Charlotte, who is talking with Scott. “I need to talk with you alone,” Chloe makes her words clear by interrupting their conversation. Charlotte uncomfortably smiled at Scott, who walked out of the class politely. “What’s going on, sis?” she smiled like everything is fine in her life. “Did you blame Tiffany for the footage?” Chloe commanded. Charlotte’s eyes widened, but she remained calm after a breath. “Yes, I did. Can I go now?” “Not yet, sis. Why did you do that? You know the truth that she doesn’t involve in it,” “So, what. I don’t need to explain this to you. I got to go.” Charlotte ta
SOMEONE’S BLUSHING “What?” “Yes, she needs a funeral. So, it will be after two days after Friday. Come with your sisters,” “I will,” Caleb responded and was about to turn away. But something worried his mind. He can’t let his girlfriend’s mother grieve alone. Ruby’s father is going to work. Being alone will bring more sadness to her for sure. “Can I come inside?” Caleb asked her. She brightened a little and invited him. ..... “You keep on pacing around the hall for one hour. What’s wrong with you,” Chloe asked Caroline with irritation. Chloe is seated on the couch eating popcorn and distracting herself from the thought of Charlotte. She doesn’t want to think about her. “Today Daniel is leaving Roshord. He called me once, but I didn’t pick up. I was busy at work. Now he’s not attending. Hereafter, I can’t able to talk with me,” she told Chloe, who’s still distracted by Charlotte’s thoughts. Care is glancing at her phone
MW IS HERE Caroline is lying on her bed with her phone. She remembered that she once had a fan account for Daniel Evans. When she opened it again on I*******m, there were more than 1000 followers. Who will follow an account without an update? Well, they did. She scrolled through her posts. Most of it is Daniel’s hot and sexy pics. Some photoshoots, billboards pictures, movie posters and also kissing scenes with the actress. She doesn’t like those pictures right now. She deleted some of it and posted her first picture with him. Surely, there will be more comments on it. She likes him a lot, but she can’t accept it. She doesn’t know whether she likes him or is just a fangirl like others. Caroline kept her phone done and slept the moment she closed her eyes. While Caleb entered the house, everyone’s door is locked. “Seriously, my sisters slept without cooking me dinner.” Caleb wondered, walking towards the kitchen hoping to find something to eat
ARGUMENTS The next moment, Caleb fell on the floor. The glass pierced all over his skin. No one is injured more than Caleb. The empty coffin fell down widely opened up. Caroline reached him and tried to wake him up. He’s closed, but he’s not unconscious. He tried to clear the blur vision. He can’t even see his sister's face clearly. “Oh my god, Caleb. We need to go to the hospital,” Caroline’s voice rang in his ears. There are more screams and noise made by the people. Finally, Caleb concentrated his vision and his eyes wandered over the coffin. When he focused his vision on it, still lying on the floor. He can see some words written on it. Told you not to come. Your loss - MW He gasped, grabbing Care’s hand. “Close the coffin, please,” he pleaded. Charlotte is standing near Care ran to close it. He deeply exhaled after knowing the coffin is closed. No one should see it. The message is for him. “Everybody go to your ho
BACK TO ROSHORD “First of all, Ruby’s death is not an accident. After much research, we came to know there’s a bomb fixed on the work in progress house on purpose. First, everyone thought there’s a leakage in the gas which is obviously not possible. It’s just an excuse that made my Roshord school to stop their school from sealing it. This made it clear, Roshord high is a careless school. We still don’t know who did this on purpose to hurt the students from Roshord high school.” the report stopped and the image shifted to the burning house on the day when the lacrosse match happened. Caleb looked down from seeing it again. Care kept her hand on his shoulder to make him relax. Her touch gave him a relaxation that their sisters were here for him. “Now about Becca’s disappearance.” the reporter started. The tension in the hall increased hearing Becca’s name. “It’s confirmed that she’s been murdered. There’s enough evidence of her blood in the sch
BILL’S WEIRD BEHAVIOR “That’s what I wanted to hear. Now we can go to school,” Jason wrapped his arms around her shoulder, hugging. They both made their way back to school. Charlotte seemed so happy to see Jason today. While at the school, Caroline walked into the kitchen crossing all the students and people who were already eating their breakfast in Roshord cafe. Today there’s more crowd in the cafe. Even detectives, reporters are eating here. Suddenly, Caroline spotted Becca’s mother angrily pointing hands at someone and acting harshly just like her daughter. Care took her wandering eyes and walked straight. “Hey Care, baby,” Care heard some familiar voice while bumping into someone. But who will call her like that? She’s never been called that. She took some steps back to notice the person. “Bill.” “Yep. It’s me.” He looked brighter than the last time. Last time she lied to him about being involved in a car accident after hav
IT’S NOT A MATCH A formal woman dressed in a coat suit motioned Chloe to step inside. She wearing specs and looked like not slept for many days. She’s with a notebook and pen. Chloe worried more about seeing Becca’s mother, who is watching her like she’s some kind of serial killer. There’s another man standing holding an object that looks like an iPad. But it’s quite different from it. Its length is enormous and a wide-breadth. “Keep your hands on it.” the woman ordered. Chloe slowly kept her hoping nothing bad happens even though she’s not the one who killed Becca. “Now take a seat.” Chloe felt more uncomfortable near Becca’s mother. Her look is so fierce. There are more wrinkles on her face and looked sleepless, just like the investigated woman. Chloe felt guilty about seeing her. But Becca’s mother won’t even know Chloe. Maybe she’s just looking furiously at everyone. “So, where have you been from seven to nine on homecoming day, Chloe?” t
