Sleepless night

I yawned lazily and stretched myself, before rolling onto my stomach, but it wasn't comfortable enough. No matter how much I tossed and turned, I couldn't find the right angle to sleep in, so I finally gave up as I rolled onto my back, staring at the ceiling with my eyes wide open.

I was sleep-deprived as my eyelids had refused to close. Every vital in my body was refusing to grant me this simple wish, but how could I? When all my thoughts were occupied with the thought of my handsome boss. I knew it was going to be hard for me to get him off my mind after the call from him, but I never knew it would be this bad.  It was as if the time had stopped, and all I could imagine was him as a vivid image of his stern and enchanting face kept flashing in my head. Just the thought of him alone was enough to keep me up the whole night. Not just that, I could feel myself feeling somehow, making me blush, as my body heated up. I kept giggling to myself like a fool, thus, sleep seems like the last thing on my mind at this moment.

"I'm in big trouble!" I sighed to myself, feeling frustrated as I slowly sat up and turned on the bed lamp. I walked over to my dressing table, sitting down gently, I glanced at my reflection in the mirror. And just I had imagined, my face was as red as tomatoes.

I know this is wrong, it's very wrong to be this excited about my Boss! But, I can't help it.

 I really need to pull myself away from this secret passion that's slowly taking all of me. This abominable thoughts about my boss was eating me up! How can I be so much absorbed to the extent that I can't even sleep? Sometimes, I wonder if loving him was a curse  to me. It seems so! If not, why am I getting punished this way?

But, I really need to sleep. No, I have to sleep if I don't want to start dozing off tomorrow at work, especially during the meeting.

With this thought in mind, I thought I have convinced myself as I walked back to my comfy bed and slowly lied back down hoping to finally get some sleep before morning. But that proved otherwise, because the moment my body touched the bed, the thoughts of him flooded into my brain once again, sending signal to all my body and I knew that I was in for a long night. 

But being a watchman this night mustn't  be allowed as there's important task that needs to be executed perfectly tomorrow. So I just buried myself under the quilt while shutting my eyes tightly. I will just embrace him in my mind while I slowly will myself to sleep.

Although it took like ages to achieve, but I finally did it.

"Wake up, sleeping beauty!" A loud voice followed by a disturbing shaking on my shoulders left me with no choice but to grudgingly prey my heavy eyelids open. I could barely see anything, my eyes felt like it was simmered with pepper and I knew this was the result of my sleepless night.

I rubbed my eyes blearily as I adjusted my vision which landed on Hannah's face. I eyed her smiling face angrily, with my brows furrowed confusedly.

"What could be funny when you're disturbing my beauty sleep?" I asked, while glaring annoyingly at her. She better have a good explanation for this unwelcomed act.

To my surprise, the smile on her face widened as she began to laugh out loud, ignoring the curious gaze on my face.

"What's so funny? You better have a good explanation for this unwanted disturbance!" I barked angrily, as I shot up from the bed, resting my back against the headboard with my arms folded to my chest, a demanding look on my face whilst trying my best to stop my painful eyes from closing.

"Sorry, your highness. I didn't mean to interrupt your sleep, but I wouldn't want my friend to lose her job as she might not get to see her charming prince again!" She threw me another amused look before heading for the door. 

With an irritated hiss, I pulled myself back under the duvet, covering my whole body properly with it as I was set to go back to sleep. . 

But then, I heard her footsteps pause, followed by a reminding yell.  "You will be late, Kat!."  She announced as she closed the door behind her.

Those words were like a waking pill to my sleepy head, as I scrambled for my phone, and upon getting a glimpse of the time, I needed no seer to remind me to move my dreamy ass up.

 I quickly threw the phone on the bed and hurriedly climbed down from the bed, staggering towards the door. I know I looked like a mess as there must be dark circles under my eyes.

Rock has killed me. Last night, I couldn't sleep because I was busy fantasizing about him. Now, look where it had gotten me. It's almost 7am and I'm yet to bathe.

Although he's the owner of the company, that doesn't stop him from coming to work early, and I hate when he gets there before me. It's best that I get there before him to avoid  getting an earful.

"Mehn... looked at you. Still staggering like a drunkard by this time? Well, I'm sure his scolding must sound like the sweetest melody in your ears by now" Hannah chuckled while shaking her head as she walked over to me with two cups of hot coffee in her hand.

"I couldn't help it, Hannah. The call from him was too much to handle" I pouted, while she laughed out loud. 

"Here, take this. It will help to awaken you from slumber" She offered me a cup of hot coffee, while winking mischievously at me. I rolled my eyes at her before collecting the cup from her hand.

"Thanks" I appreciated.

 By the time I was done bathing, Hannah was already set to go to work, but she'd to wait for me to get dressed so we could leave house together. Of course, I had to plead to get her to do so. 

"Good luck" Hannah whispered to me, as she stepped out of the elevator and headed towards her office.

I sighed once again. With her gone, I felt loneliness wash over me. I just hope that my Boss doesn't get there before me.

Today, I will be joining him in a meeting. So, I made sure to as always, dress properly and neatly. I was putting on a black V-Neck bodycon pencil dress, my hair was neatly tied in a ponytail making my glasses to appear more obvious than usual. I made sure to cover the dark circles under my eyes with make up, adding a red lipstick on my lips, making sure not to go overboard with it. I kind of look different from my normal self, but I had to do it since I will be leaving this premises with my boss. Not that I am doing it to impress him or get his attention, but I just don't want to spoil the meeting with my face looking like a zombie's. I'm looking forward to events of today, and I hope everything goes smoothly...
