Secretly In Love with My Highschool Bully

The first time I laid eyes on Ryan, I was seven. We had just moved into a new neighborhood since dad had been promoted at work and was his family had to of course follow him. I was not told of the move till the day we had to move and that irked me since I quite liked Wolf peak. I even had my own tree house and all. I tried telling them I could stay with grandma Heg but they refused. Now that I think on it, the idea of staying with grandma Heg was indeed not appropriate but at the time I had no qualms since she was the nicest old lady I had ever known.

On the day we reached Saber Hills, I left them to their unpacking, picked my Peter Rabbit book and made off to look for a quiet spot I could read in peace.

"Gavin, be careful and don't be back late." Mom says when she notices me leaving the house.

"Ok mom." I say waving at her .

I trudge uphill for a while and just as I think I should just go back home, I spot a little path that seems to lead somewhere. Curiosity gets the best of me and I follow it only to change upon the most beautiful sight my little eyes had even had the pleasure of seeing. It was a lake that seemed man made with flowers sorrounding it. It even had a bench to the side and to top it all of, it was quiet.

I immediately squealed in pleasure and made for the bench. I made my self comfortable and made a point to remind my self that next I came , I should carry a blanket since the bench wasn't very warm.

I immediately opened my book and got so absorbed reading it that I didn't notice footsteps approaching me till my book was yanked out of my hands.

"Hey." I say protesting looking up. That looking up however let me see the most beautiful sight I had ever had the pleasure of seeing.The little boy that had yanked the book out of my hands seemed to have been God's favorite during creation because he was a sight to behold. He had white blond hair, blue eyes ,beautiful skin and was just overall perfect.

"Hey, what are you zoning out for?" he snaps his fingers infront of my face and I immediately come to.

"Who are you?" I ask

"The owner of this place duh." he says rolling his eyes at me as tho I am an idiot.

"Oh. I didn't know this place had an owner." I say blushing " We just moved in and it's really loud at home and i was just looking for a place to read in peace." I add rambling

"So your the new neighbors."he says arching his brow. I just nod."Well this is my spot."he says

"I can leave if you want." I say making to get up form the bench

"No. it's ok. You can stay" he says rubbing the back of his head."I am Ryan Montegue and you are ?" he asks offering his hand like a little gentleman.

"I am Gavin Montez. Pleased to meet you." I shake his hand and then dissolve into a pile of giggles. He joins me not long after and we laugh for a while.

"You ae pretty." he says looking at me

"Boys can't be pretty Ryan." I say looking at him askance.

"But you are."he insists and I just let him be.

"Can I have my book back?" I ask and he looks at the book he holds seeming to just realize he still holds it.

"So you are a nerd?" he asks

"I like reading." I say

"That makes you a nerd." he insists

"Does not." I insist

"Does too." he says

"Whatever. Can I go back to my reading now?" I say gesturing towards my book

"Sure ."he answers "I am going for a swim."

"Be careful out there." I tell him since I haven't ever met a seven year old who can swim.

"I have taken swimming lessons you knw ."he says

"Still." I insist

A few hours later, we trek the path back to our houses.

"Can I come here again?" I ask Ryan since he says he owns the place

"Yea ." he answers " My house is just down the street. The one with the really green gate." he adds

"Ok. Mine is the one with people you don't know yet" I tell him and giggle at my description.

"Bye" he waves running back to his house

"Bye"I wave

Since then that becomes our little spot and since our parents also become best friends not long after, we by default also become friends.

I thought that would be a matter of course all our lives till when we enter high school and my best friend turns around to become my bully.
