Susan's POV

Instead, he took his time to console me. “I hate to see you like this. I wished there was something I could have done to help out.

Unfortunately, my Uncle decided today of all days to hate me,”

“What did you do to him? It took a while for you to notice.

His actions towards you showed how uncomfortable your presence made him feel,” I questioned Paul.

“Honestly, I wouldn't know.

The same way he and my Father never liked each other.

It's such a pity that he extended the rivalry to me,” Paul explained.

While he talked, I had a divided attention when I saw someone approaching from a distance.

A second glance revealed it was Angela, Ethan's stepmother.

I needed to clean my eyes to be certain it wasn't a hallucination.

Just like me, Paul spotted Angela after trailing my gaze. “Isn't Angela approaching us? What does she want?”

“What does she want?

Isn't it obvious that she came to finish the dirty job?” I replied harshly.

“You know what?

I don't care what she came for. Let's just leave this place,” I told Paul.

I didn't see myself recovering from the anger should Angela's face keep popping in my head.

“No, hold on a second. She's already close. Let's hear what she has to say,” Paul insisted despite my refusal.

He was behind the steering wheel, which further complicated it for me.

I couldn't go home either because it was too dark.

“Hey,”

Angela waved.

She tried to get familiar with us after what she did back there.

I'm utilizing the absence of Ethan's Father to confront Angela.

The revenge I yearned for had finally arrived, and I wasn't ready to bottle the wonderful opportunity.

To my greatest shock, Paul stopped me from experiencing the greatest revenge of all time

He held me back and said, “Let me handle it my way. Fortunately, Ethan's Father isn't here to shut me out.”

I forced myself to stay calm, but deep down, I wanted to do some crazy things for Angela that she'd live to regret for the rest of her life.

She studied me so well and knew what got me upset the most, and I fell for it.

“You still wanna fight after what happened out there?

You ought to be calm like a dove if you want to get what you want,” Angela advised me.

It certainly didn't sound like advice because I felt insulted by the things she said.

I decided not to retaliate because Paul warned me not to.

“That's enough already! What do you want?

I am pretty sure you are not here to cause more trouble, are you?

Because if that's what you came for, then I suggest you leave,” Paul spoke authoritatively.

I've never, for once, doubted his ways.

The situation would have gone in our favor if only Ethan's Father had allowed him to speak.

“On the contrary, I came for a peace talk,” Angela clarified.

“Peace talk?”

Paul and I spoke at the same time.

Our responses weren't even planned.

“Yes, you heard me right. I want to give you an offer.

If you accept the demands, I will make my husband stop his son from making that silly move,” Angela proposed.

She spoke in a soft tone.

I get to witness another angelic version of Angela that's never been seen before.

Only if she had been this sweet and accommodating could my mission have been executed effortlessly without anyone making a fuss out of it.

“So what's this offer all about?

Let's hear what you have got to say,” I asked after a brief silence existed among us.

Paul and I were so desperate to know what Angela had to offer.

I refused to get my hopes high.

Knowing the mess she's capable of creating, I never expected anything good to come from her.

“Wait a minute!

Why should we trust you?

What makes you think you can influence the decision of an old man?” I interrupted Angela just as she was about to speak.

I had every reason to believe that she had got intentions to mess with our heads, the same way Maria did.

I would consider myself the biggest fool that ever lived should I allow myself to make the same mistake again when I had all the time in the world to learn from it.

“I don't expect you to believe me.

The few things you witnessed out there should have answered your question,” Angela responded while still leaving me guessing.

“Speak!”

Paul commanded.

“It's elementary.

I want Paul to go on a date with me.

Have sex with me for a night and your problems will be solved.

This is more than an assurance. Still, I don't expect you to believe me because I've got nothing to prove,” Angela announced.

I used to contemplate that she was insane but after listening to the rubbish she said, I could beat my chest and say my assumptions were correct after all.

“This has got a joke, right?

Where's the camera? Are you setting us up?” I probed Angela.

I glanced around with the hope that I would find Ethan's Father watching us.

I found no one.

Nothing even a bird in the sky.

Angela was all alone with us.

“Like I said, I've got nothing to prove to you.

The choice is yours to make.

Here's my card should you change your mind,” Angela handed her card to Paul.

She proceeds to kiss Paul on the chin before leaving.

She spun her buttocks rigorously while her cat walked just to seduce Paul.

Five minutes after she left, Paul and I kept looking at each other's faces as we wondered what just happened. We suddenly lost our voices to speak.

It feels to us like a movie.

What baffles me the most is Angela's confidence.

How she approached us without fear got me wondering if she was a powerful witch.

If she could speak to Paul like that, then Ethan's Father is definitely her puppet.

Now I know why she attacked me when I speculated that Kelly isn't the bold son of Ethan's Father.

I needed to be certain that I wasn't imagining things that weren't real.In a delicate situation like that, the last thing I'll consent to is jokes or pranks.“Of course, I did, Tony. You weren't the only one who heard the voice. It is safe to say that your ears lead you in the right direction. Let's listen to what the son of a bitch has to say,”Marcus replied.I was relieved by his utterances. It confirmed that I wasn't losing my mind after all.Patrick stepped forward. He stood before everyone to ensure he was closer to Sean than any of us. “Start talking now! This is your chance to make it right again. Tell us what you know about Angela's whereabouts. And don't you dare miss out on any details,” Patrick ordered Sean. For a moment, I was impressed by his moves. That was the only sensible thing that has been done over the last couple of hours. He's going to do something crazy," Officer Patrick instructed his other officers.Instantly, they stood before me and formed a shield to block my exit.Soon, Patrick joined me as he panted heavily. I gave him the run of his life that he would never forget rushing. “What's the meaning of this madness, Patrick? Have you suddenly lost your manners? Is this how you treat a man of my age?Tell them to get the fuck out of my way before someone gets hurt," I demanded.I used my age as an advantage to get past the officers, but I failed. The officers in front of me were ruthless. It was as though Patrick had cast a spell on them, that made them obey his command without grudges.“This ain't got nothing to do with ageYou brought this upon yourself. If there's anyone that might end up hurt, it's you," Officer Patrick said to me. It was starting to sound like a threat to me. I couldn't handle the r

Are you starting to hear things that aren't real?” Patrick mocked me. He didn't think I was telling the truth. “Have you forgotten the reason we are here? Let's go inside quickly before she escapes,” he urged me, but I refused. I was resilient and focused on my instincts. “I might be old, but certainly not dumb or stupid. I knew what I heard. That was Kelly's voice,” I challenged Patrick.I didn't allow him to control my thoughts. I left the doorway and strolled around my mansion, trying to trace the voice I heard. “Papa, please come,”I heard the voice calling me for the second time. I traced the voice to the garage and saw Angela and Kelly seated inside the car. I tried to get closer to them, but she drove off. I didn't try to run after the car, knowing it would be pointless to do that. For the second consecut

Tony Wood's POV“Where's Angela?Where's Kelly?” I popped the question without a direct lead. I was hoping that someone would sacrifice themselves to speak up.“Oh, shit. She fucking escaped. How did this happen? Where are the fucking nurses?” The doctor screamed. He slammed the wall to demonstrate his rage. He was about to leave when I held him back. “Where the heck are you going?”“What the heck is this? Let go of me,” he requested.“I want to summon all the nurses to know who was on duty,” he explained.I was ruthless!I refused to let him go, knowing that he was the reason for Angela's escape. If he hadn't hesitated when I called for her arrest, Angela would be sleeping behind bars already.“Oh, come on, Tony. You know I have nothing to do with this. I was only trying to protect the image of my hospital,” he claimed. That was the lamest excuse I've ever heard. The excuse made me even more angry. I wasn't conscious of my act anymore. The people you think you know. You come to realize that maybe you don't know them after all.And that shakes you.I usually have answers, but now, I'm the dumbest man alive.I'm used to having directions. Each time I recall that I'm the architect of my misfortunes, my heart bleeds. The question that keeps echoing in my head when I wake up every morning is, “When will I finally get out of this?” To worsen it all, I am not guaranteed a perfect response, let alone a remedy. “What the hell is going on here, Mr. Woods? Tony Woods POV“Are you sure you are ready for this moment, Mr. Woods? I want you to take your time and reflect on it before coming up with a decision. What I'm about to disclose might sound partially devastating and heartbreaking to you. And I am sure you wouldn't want that for yourself. Remember your health status. I don't want to be the one to escalate your blood pressure,” The doctor retreated just when he was on the verge of disclosing my son's test results. It wasn't a question I found quite intriguing. But somehow, I was able to control my rage. “Really? Are we going to do this all day? Come on, Doctor. I am not interested in any of your jokes. Just hit the nail on the head.
