Chapter 1: We Meet

last update publish date: 2026-07-05 01:41:01

“What an awful sight to behold “..Corey sighs.

It’s been more than a decade but he still couldn’t get her off his mind. The thought of her made him listen and all he ever wanted was to hold her and tell her how much damage and darkness she’d brought to his life, the pain, torment, sleepless night ….worst of the never ending wet dreams.

“I’ll make her pay dearly” Corey whispered.

He went about his day binge drinking, fantasizing over her, that name that rocked his world “Kisha Prime”.

Sir we have to go, a familiar voice, his assistant, Shawn Morre called him back to reality. He picked up his jacket and walked out of the bar not waiting for his assistant, he drove off.

What a finished man! Shawn was not surprised,he got used to it the moment he decided to work for him.

Hello ma’am he just left ….. conversing while nodding his head.

I wonder how I got wrapped up in this scenario.

*flashback*

I want you to keep tail on Corey Lawson, his whereabouts, who he talks to, his business partners, just everything about him.

You mean everything that concerns a full grown man? A top banana like Mr Corey? Shawn raised his concern now wanting to engage in tailing his boss.

Kisha … took a deep long breath, listen I need you to act more and speak less since I am paying you a fortune for this, so it’s either you’re in or cease to exist. She walked away leaving her card on the table, call me when you value your life. Shawn realized there was no going back, more like he signed a deal with the she-devil.

Shawn snapped out of his thought and ordered a taxi back to the office, lost in thought on why the bad ass Kisha Prime, daughter of a well known and respected business tycoon take so much interest in a fucked up man like Corey. He just couldn’t understand anything.

Kisha pov:

Glancing through the beautiful moment of her and Corey on her laptop.Kisha couldn’t help it as tears kept rolling down her sunken cheeks. All she ever wanted was to live a life filled with happiness with the man she loves and cherish deeply, she detest the privilege of being a Prime, it caused so much set back in her life, a family name to uphold, a title of honor, an unfitted crown she found stuck on her head.

Her father, Robert Prime made her feel like a cursed, rapacious lady with no dreams.

He ruined her childhood and now he’s ruining her life forever. No! I won’t let this happen to me, “she said to herself.

She dialled his number and spoke immediately, I know that you’ll take away my right but I refuse to let you control me anymore. I am going back to Stark city to be who I really want to be, a passionate writer and ….

Robert's evil laughter echoed over the phone, almost choking on his saliva, you really think you can survive the street without my name, uhh…Yh now I see that I’ve been too lenient on you.

I gave you shelter, good education and everything that your poor wretched mother’s lover couldn’t give you in a thousand years to come and you see me as your worst enemy, huh! “he roared “

Kisha has always been so scared of him ever since she was a child, she would run to her mother to save her but her mother couldn’t even move a ginger finger to help at all.

But this time she decided to voice out even if it wasn’t going to solve anything.

“You know what dad, you’re just a man who likes to whistle in the dark. Then she hung up”

I can’t do this anymore …..I just can’t, she sniffed, wiping her tears aggressively. She stared at Corey’s photo like the only thing keeping her sanity in check.

You mean so much more Corey, falling for a dublicitious bitch like me, she cursed at herself hating her pathetic life.

Lo and behold she stared at the beautiful scenery from the balcony wandering, if she had just taken the bull by the horn years back will her life turned out to be different… she scoffed, flames of fantasy.

Phone vibrating…Kisha reached out to her phone on the table.

Hellooooo girllly!!!! what is your fucking problem? I’ve been trying to reach you since forever, look! you need not say anything, all I need from you right now is to pull up at “Base Solo Club”.

And I must say there are so many hottie’s here, I swear to you …

Hey! hey hey! just hold it right there Mylo, am not in the mood to go clubbing or do shit right now. I’ve got enough on my plate and ..

Okay, right now am gonna show you, what Mylo Trevor is capable of, am going to call Mr Lawson and tell him how much you wanna get comfortable in his arms or you could …fine, fine am coming, don’t do anything stupid, Mylo, I’m on my way I repeat don’t do shit. Now hang up.

“Now I have to think of what to wear, “ Kisha sighs.

She finally picked a bottle green dress exposing her cleavage and thigh wildly, a designer bag with customized heels.

She looked settled, ready to rock the night as she admired her curves in the mirror. Unknown to her a chauffeur was waiting for her immediately she stepped out.

Hello ma’am am at your service for the night, Lady Mylo sent me to deliver you safely at the designated address.

Kisha was awed by Mylo’s mastery. She stepped into the limousine as the chauffeur held the door out for her. She felt so relaxed as she stared at the beautiful view, the ride was what she needed to cool off some steams.

“Finally we are here” Kisha whispered as the Chauffeur stepped out to open the door, she was taken by surprise as she walked into the club and everything screamed wealth, affluence and illegal dealings.

Spotted by Mylo, she walked towards her.

Here I am, thinking that the all and mighty Kisha Prime will ignore my invitation” she giggled”.

Kisha rolled her eyes and hissed, pass me a drink and get a life.

Mylo pulled Kisha in for a tight hug while she kissed her face desperately like a lover craving for attention.

That’s it… we’re no longer children. You need to stop being clingy. Kisha detached from Mylo’s hug.

Mylo pouted, whispering inaudible words. Kisha trying to distract herself, observing her surroundings her eyes landed on a particular figure that she never believed would be in the same space as her.

She turned away fast! not wanting to be seen.

She knows immediately that she has to leave, run, hide, just anything that makes her feel invincible at the moment.

Uhm….. Mylo.. I need to get going. I have a business meeting to attend with some client that came from Dubai tomorrow. She didn’t bother to know if Mylo processed that or not. She excused herself.

Mylo was dumbfounded… huh! wait… Mylo dropped her drink and ran after her. Getting to the parking lot she saw Corey right in front of her but no sign of Kisha

“She took a deep breath…. now I understand why Kisha was in a haste” She said in a whisper.

Wow… Corey, it’s you, how long has it been? Walking towards him trying to start a conversation to make the tension between them less awkward.

Corey seemed uninterested as he scoffed, long enough for you know to know that “I don’t fuck with bitches who snitch”Corey answered.

Getting into his car, .. Miss Trevor would you mind to join me for a ride, I promise I don’t bite. A wide grin plastered across his face, reaching out his hands.

Ahh!! nah !! I’ll be fine, am still grooving a bit and …….

With that said, Corey sped off not waiting for her witty remarks.

God! I swear I am going to pop Kisha’s eyes out, stomping her feet aggressively. She walked back to the bar completely shaken by what just happened.

Kisha didn’t know where she was going, she only knew she couldn’t stay at home. The argument with Corey had ended hours ago, but his words were still circling inside her head. To conquer the world together is a great deal. She wanted to prove him wrong by letting him witness what she had just seen. She had even pretended to believe him. But now, walking alone through the busy streets of Stark City, she realized how deeply those words had reached. The evening crowd moved around her. Cars honked, people laughed, street vendors called out to passing customers and music drifted from an open shop. But Kisha heard none of it clearly. She simply walked, one street became another, then another. She didn’t notice how far she’d gone until her feet began to ache. She stopped near a busy intersection and looked around. She didn’t recognize the street. “What am I doing?” She whispered. Her phone was in her hand. Corey’s name was still at the top of her recent calls. She stared at it, her hand

  • Seeking Deeper Fantasy   Chapter 37: Always Been A Father To Me

The house had finally gone quiet. Their mother had gone upstairs, the dishes had been cleared from the table, and the television in the living room played softly in the background, but neither Corey nor Jethro was paying attention to it. They sat outside on the back porch, two cups of juice between them and the night air settling gently around the house. For a while, neither brother spoke. Corey leaned back in his chair, Jethro stared at the garden. “You know…” Corey glanced at him. “What?” Jethro smiled faintly. Mom wasn’t joking earlier, about you never visiting. Corey laughed, I’ve been busy. “You’ve always been busy.” Jethro looked at him, “But you always came.” Corey’s smile faded, what do you mean? “When I was little you always came.” Jethro lowered his eyes. Corey listened. If I had a school event, you came. If I had a football match, you came. If I got sick, you slept outside my room. Corey smiled, “You had terrible nightmares.” “I know.” Jethro laughed softly. You

  • Seeking Deeper Fantasy   Chapter 36: Around The Family Table

By seven that evening, Corey was already regretting agreeing to dinner. Not because he didn’t want to see his mother, he did. It was his younger brother he was worried about. Jethro had a talent for turning a peaceful dinner into an interrogation and tonight, Corey wasn’t in the mood to be interrogated. He parked outside his mother’s house and sat in the car for a moment. The house looked exactly as he remembered it. Warm lights glowing through the curtains, the faint sound of music coming from inside and the familiar smell of his mother’s cooking drifting through the evening air. He never seems to get why his mother cooks when they have servants at every beck and call. To make matters worse she prefers to live in this small mansion compared to the grandeur of the mansion he bought for her. His phone vibrated. Mom: Don’t make me come outside and drag you in. Corey smiled as he stepped out. Before he could knock, the door opened. His mother stood there with her hands on her hips. “Y

  • Seeking Deeper Fantasy   Chapter 35: The Jealousy Game

Kisha stared at her phone for almost a minute before finally typing the message: Can we meet tonight? She watched the message delivered. Three dots appeared almost immediately, then disappeared. Appeared again. Where? Kisha swallowed. She typed the name of the restaurant and sent it. She knew exactly what she was doing and she knew it was childish. But Corey had walked away from their argument without understanding what she had been trying to tell him. He always protected her, always decided what was best amd always acted as though she would break if he loosened his grip for even a second. She wanted him to feel something. Anything. She wanted him to understand that she wasn’t someone he could simply push away and expect to find waiting in the same place. Unfortunately, the plan she had come up with was cruel and she knew it. The restaurant was crowded when Corey arrived. He stepped inside, scanning the tables. Then he saw her. Kisha sat near the far window, she wasn’t alone,

  • Seeking Deeper Fantasy   Chapter 34: Mama Uyioku

Corey didn’t remember the drive to Mama Uyioku’s house, he only remembered leaving. One minute, he and Kisha had made it look like they had it all figured out, and the next minute he felt like a stranger with her. Dealing with all these emotions at once exhausted him to the point he couldn’t think straight any more. The next, he was behind the wheel, driving through the familiar streets of Stark City with his jaw clenched and his hands tight around the steering wheel. He shouldn’t have left, he knew that. But staying would have meant saying something he couldn’t take back. Kisha’s final words kept replaying in his mind. “We are both adults and needed to cool off some steam.” He exhaled sharply. “I know.” The problem was, he didn’t know how to stop protecting her. Not after everything they’d discovered, not after Morgan, not after Blackridge and certainly not after realizing how much he cared about her. By the time he pulled into Mama Uyioku’s compound, the sky had begun to darken

  • Seeking Deeper Fantasy   Chapter 33: Truth Or Dare

Waking up side by side, the room had gone completely quiet as the morning sun reflected across the room. Not the awkward kind of quiet, but the kind that came after two people had shared something that changed the air between them. She lay beside him beneath the tangled sheets, her head resting against his chest while his fingers moved slowly through her hair. Neither of them seemed ready to speak. A few hours ago, they had been laughing, whispering, holding each other close. Now every little movement felt significant. She lifted her head and looked at him. “What?” he asked, catching her staring. Nothing. You’ve been staring at me for almost a minute. She smiled. “Maybe I’m trying to decide if I regret what we just did.” His expression immediately changed. “Do you?” The teasing disappeared from her face. “No.” His shoulders relaxed, “Good.” She playfully pushed his chest. “Don’t look so relieved.” I am relieved. Why? “Because I don’t think I’d know what to do if you told
