Rene’s POV

I trembled as Kai moved closer. “I am here with Lisa. What am I supposed to do? Just leave her here? I can’t do that, Kai!” I didn’t recognize my voice as I spoke. Who was I right now?

Kai leaned back, his eyes studying my face as if to see if I was lying. Satisfied that I wasn’t, he answered with a calmer tone. “I’ll make sure she gets home. But for now, you need to go.” With the other hand, he opened the door to the room slightly and nodded toward it. “Now. Leave.”

I said nothing as I backed out of the door as Kai slammed it in my face.

Terrified, I went back toward the Cloud Room to find Lisa, to tell her what happened and give her a heads-up that Kai was there. Thankfully, the young man who had approached me was gone.

I checked the room, trying to find Lisa, but there were no signs of her. I walked toward the pools, only to find my cousin getting her pussy eaten out by the handsome guy from before, while another guy with blonde tipped dreads had his dick down her throat. I closed my eyes and shook my head. I had to go.

I grabbed my things from the locker, quickly putting on my coat. The driver brought my car and I was on the road. Kai had scared me beyond measure. What would he do? Would he find the guy who tried to fuck me and threaten him? Would he tell Remy that I was out cheating? It was a huge misunderstanding, one that Kai had refused to let meclear up. Instead, he just yelled at me to go home. And strangely, I had been too turned on to argue. It made no sense.

I pulled up to the house. Nathan came in yesterday. It was nearly two in the morning, and Nathan should have been asleep or at least trying to sleep. I parked the car in the garage. I saw the night nurse, Zora, on the phone. She looked up from her phone, wide eyed.

“Oh, dear God! There you are. Did you get my texts? I’d been texting you for an hour!”

I looked at my phone. There had been a dozen texts from her. I hadn’t been able to see them with my phone locked away in the club. “I’m sorry, I wasn’t able to get to my phone. What is it?”

Zora shook her head. “Mrs Daniels, Mr. Nathan is taking a turn for the worse. His oxygen levels are pretty low, and he’s really struggling to breathe. He was calling for you. I was going to call the ambulance, but I know you have a DNR in place. I wanted to be sure if...”

Before she could finish, I rushed past Zora and down the hall into the playroom where Nathan lie in bed. His breathing was rougher than I had ever heard it, and his chest was nearly hollow as he exhaled.

“Nathan? Baby, I’m here now.” I sat on the bed and reached for his hand. He turned his head, the cannula of the oxygen off of his nose. I reached to fix it, but he shook his head.

“Rene? Baby girl?” he wheezed. “Baby girl, I know I’m late.”

I was confused. “Late? No Nathan, you’re home. Not late.”

“No. The restaurant. I’m late. Sorry.”

It took a few minutes, but it dawned on me that Nathan thought he was on their first date, where he’d been late. He had gotten a flat tire, and I had to wait for an hour. Because I liked him, I had waited for him. He arrived sweaty, grease-stained, and holding flowers. We ordered, and I fell head over heels for him. We had been inseparable ever since. Yet, tonight, I hadn’t been there when he needed me the most.

“It’s ok, Nat. I waited

Good.” He smiled, holding on to my hand. His breathing slowed and his eyes closed. After a few minutes, he opened his eyes, returning his attention back to her. “Did you have fun, Rene?”

I sniffed, wiping my eyes. “Fun?”

“Tonight. Coverts. Fun?

“I...” I paused. “It was fun,’ I lied. I couldn’t tell him about the shit that had happened tonight. Not now. It didn’t matter.

“Good, beautiful. Good.” His grip on my fingers loosened.

“Nathan?” Tears filled my eyes and dropped on the coat that I still wore.

His breathing slowed down to a slow wheeze as he closed his eyes. The monitors beeped, then suddenly flatlined as his body grew still. Zora rushed in, but I held up my hand to stop her.

I needed time, I needed space to come to terms with what just happened. My eyes stared at his face then to the monitor

Memories flooded my mind.. our first date, our wedding. All the laughter, the fights, the quiet nights. All leading to this moment. I felt numb, like I was floating above the scene. Zora's voice was muffled, as if she was calling from far away. I couldn't process the words, couldn't move. My world had just shattered, and I was stuck in the wreckage. The pain would come later, but for now, I was frozen, trapped in this moment of loss.

I stayed like that, holding his hand, as the minutes ticked by. The room grew quiet, except for the sound of the machines and the quiet sobs of the nurse in the corner. I didn't move, didn't breathe. I just stared at Nathan, praying for it to be a dream, praying for him to wake up. But he didn't. And I knew he wouldn't.

“The funeral home’s number is on my desk.”

Rene’s POVI didn’t wait long before i had another company the next day with the simple text on my phone that said “I am coming to take care of you” take a bath and relax. It felt like It was something that was done in turns now.I watched as Remy moved about the kitchen. His slacks were fitted and tailored within an inch of their life. He was the epitome of tall, dark, and handsome. He was well over six feet, with curly black hair that he managed to barely tame. His goatee was always perfectly manicured, and I was more than jealous of the smoothness of his skin. He always smelled good and his hands were always soft. He was, in a single word, perfect. I could see how Remy had women, and men, fawning all over him. Shit, I was salivating right now.He poured glasses of Pinot Grigio for both of us as he motioned for me to raise my glass for a toast.I squinted. “What are we toasting?”I shrugged. “Hell, I don’t know. I just know I shouldn’t pour a fine glass of wine without a toast.”“T

  • Sensual Encounters   Chapter 13

Rene’s POVWe were at the observatory and planetarium.Kai removed his helmet, still on the bike. My eyes went straight to his thick, jean-clad thighs. I swallowed, pressing my own thighs together. Lisa was right. This man was fine as hell.“I figured I’d take you to see the second most beautiful thing in the world that consumes my thoughts.”I frowned. “Second?”He got off the bike, closing the space between us with quick strides. He took me by the hand, staring at me with whiskey-colored eyes. “Yes, second. Come on.”The planetarium was nearly empty. He led me toward the back- middle row of seats. I looked around, feeling self-conscious; I couldn’t remember the last time I had been in the dark with a man. Kai must have sensed my nerves. He reached for my hand, stroking it.I nervously giggled. “Relax, Rene.. It’s just me.” he laughed, kissing the top of my knuckles and sending a hiss down her wrist. We continued to watch the show as Kai pointed out several things. I was intrigued a

Rene’s POVAfter sleeping until midday, I made to have coffee As I was reaching for the coffee, my doorbell rang. Startled, I looked at the doorbell app on my phone. I wasn’t expecting anyone on a Saturday morning, and anyone with sense would call. When I looked at the app, I could only see broad shoulders wearing a leather jacket. When the face glanced up in the camera, I swallowed.KaiEven in shades, with the beard and leather jacket, he looked every bit the part of a rebel. He was incredibly sexy.I didn’t bother to communicate with him via the doorbell app; instead, I adjusted my robe and made my way to the front door. Slowly, I opened it a crack.“So, was calling out of the question?” I asked as i leaned against her doorframe.“Get dressed. I’m taking you to breakfast” he commanded.I rolled my eyes, mildly irritated. “Excuse me?”“Breakfast, Rene. I’m sure you haven’t eaten in a while. It’ll sober you up.”I scratched my head. “I am sober. I think...”It wasn’t until Kai sighed

Rene’s POVI put down my drink slowly, my heart pounding. “It depends. What is it?”“For you to just relax. Be open. Have fun. Again, we got you.” Remy reached across the table for my hand. I freely gave it to him as he interlocked his fingers with mine. He had the softest hands and a perfect manicure, I observed. “Trust us, okay?”I nodded. “Okay.”“So, when do these dates start?” Kai asked.I smiled. “I guess this can count as the first date. A group date.” “Well, that’s wack,” Remy laughed. “But I understand.”“And as for these dates,” Kai suddenly asked, “Do we get to plan them or what?”I shrugged. “Sure. Honestly, I’ve never been much of a planner of dates. All I want is just some time alone to get to know you all as individuals, apart from what I knew of you via Nathan.”“And if it gets...physical?” Remy asked with some hesitation.I swallowed, thinking about my phone session with Remy . “When I am ready, we need STI tests. Clean bills of health. Medications you are on. No ill

Rene’s POV“Seriously, how do you feel?” Remy asked me as he continued to clean himself.Relaxed. Blissful. I wanted to say that. Instead, I simply replied, “I’m good.”“Good.” he tossed the tissue into a wastebasket next to the desk and gently adjusted his glasses.“You didn’t take your glasses off,” I observed as I watched his post-orgasmic ritual. “Do you keep them on during sex?”He laughed. “Normally I wouldn’t. Would you like me to next time?”I frowned playfully. “Who said there was going to be a next time?”“There’s going to be next time. Possibly with our clothes off. In person. But I’d at least like to take you to dinner first. I am a gentleman, after all.”“What makes you so sure?”He adjusted the waistband of his shorts. “Because phone sex isn’t enough for a woman like you.”“A woman like me? What’s that? Old? Lonely?”He frowned. “Don’t talk down about yourself, Rene. You’re not ancient. And you’re not alone. You have me. And the fellas,” He picked up the phone, his face
