Chapter 10

The hospital smelled awful. I woke up with a headache. My body seemed to fall apart.

The argument outside the ward grew more and more intense, gradually reaching my ears.

"No wonder Audrey tried to keep a distance from us after she came back. She must have thought we abandoned her!"

"Jeffrey, you are such a bastard. How am I going to explain this to Audrey’s parents?"

"Dad, Mom, I didn't expect that either. I just wanted to teach her a lesson."

A crisp slap came over.

It was followed by a few muffled grunts from Jeffrey.

I thought it was Richard hitting him again, but it wasn't until I heard Helen's scream.

"Mr. Pearson!"

Kash!

I wanted to get out of bed, but I ended up falling on the floor. I found my leg was broken. My room was on the second floor. I didn’t die after I jumped down from above.

Hearing the noise, Kash rushed in from outside. He looked terrible. Stubble grew on his chin as if he hadn't shaved for a long time.

"Kash."

I picked up the fruit next to the bed and threw it at
