Chapter 8

For the past three days, I ate my meals according to Kash's notes. He had made them ahead of time. I enjoyed being taken care of.

I missed Kash, but I didn't know what he had gone to do.

There wasn't a single missed call on my phone. Instead, they were all the familiar numbers that I dialed thousands of times.

I was going to go out and look for him. I even thought of calling the police. But the police couldn't even find those kidnappers. Could I trust them?

I left the door in a daze. When I walked to the entrance of the alley, I was suddenly dragged into a car. When I woke up again, I was on the bed in my room.

I was in the Chaney residence, to be exact.

It was dim in the room, and the moonlight filtered through the window. I saw a figure sitting in the darkness, staring at me.

"Ah!" I was so scared that I hid under the covers. That person turned on the light and came over to comfort me.

"Audrey, I was trying to let you sleep well. I'm sorry for scaring you."
