I collected the test from the counter, unable to look at it immediately. I turned it over in my hand and stared at the screen. There was no denying the result on the window. The words were plain as day. Clear written words in front of me. The world stopped around me, and everything faded away. My world was forever changed in that moment.

    As I awoke to an empty bed, I checked the time on my phone. It was 12:34 p.m. I rubbed my eyes, cleared my sleep from them, and stretched out.
