The elevator ride up to Victor’s penthouse felt like it was climbing into another world.

The walls were mirrored, and my own reflection stared back at me — hair tousled from the night, cheeks still warm from the heated glances we’d exchanged across the club earlier. Victor stood beside me, close enough that his sleeve brushed mine when the car shifted, the faint scent of cedar and something darker wrapping around me like an invisible hand.

“Why do I get the feeling,” I murmured, “that you don’t invite just anyone up here?”

His eyes flicked to mine in the reflection. “Because I don’t.”

It wasn’t arrogance — it was truth. The kind that curled low in my stomach.

The elevator opened to a space that didn’t belong in the chaos of the city — all glass and shadow, the skyline spilling out in every direction. Floor-to-ceiling windows framed the storm rolling in, clouds heavy and restless. In the center of it all, a set of French doors led to a rooftop terrace, where the first drops of rain wer

  • Shadows of Desire   Club Council Meeting

The council chamber in Elysium wasn’t used often. It was a quiet room, set apart from the play floors, with polished mahogany walls and a long oval table surrounded by leather chairs. I’d never been inside before tonight, but I could feel the gravity of it immediately. This wasn’t a space for spectacle—it was a space for judgment.Victor sat at the head of the table, his presence commanding as ever. The silver in his dark hair gleamed under the dim light, his posture taut but deliberate. Around him sat the senior figures of the club—Jennifer in a crimson dress that cut like a blade, Marco with his easy smile muted into something sharper, Andre the dungeon monitor, Nadia and Rafael side by side. And me—curled near Victor’s right hand, aware of how out of place I looked among the veterans. But his hand rested lightly over mine beneath the table, anchoring me.Victor’s voice was steady when he began. “We have a problem. Two recorders have been discovered in private rooms. Photos have sur

  • Shadows of Desire   The Charity Auction Aftermath

The gala had ended hours ago, but my heart was still trembling with the echoes of it. I couldn’t stop replaying the moment another Dominant’s hand closed around my wrist, the way the crowd laughed and cheered when my name was “sold,” the flicker of fury in Victor’s eyes as he watched me kneel for someone else—if only for a scene. It had been role play. All of it. For charity, for spectacle, for the theater of Elysium. And yet, the tension between us clung like smoke. Now, in Victor’s penthouse, I sat curled in his chair while the city’s skyline bled silver and gold through the windows. He stood by the glass, jacket discarded, shirt undone at the collar. His hands were buried in his pockets, his shoulders rigid, his reflection fractured by the night.“Victor,” I whispered, breaking the silence. He didn’t turn right away. When he finally did, his eyes burned with something rawer than I expected. “I owe you an apology.”My breath caught. “You?”He moved closer, every step deliberate. “Ye

  • Shadows of Desire   Lena’s Shifting Mood

Lena used to find me before I found her. She’d appear on the balcony like a shadow with a smile, slipping little comments in my ear about who was watching whom, or which Dominant had surprised everyone with tenderness after a scene. She was my confidante in those first nights, the one who made the glittering strangeness of Elysium feel less overwhelming. But lately, she had become a ghost.I noticed it first in the small things. She didn’t sit with me on the balcony anymore. She lingered in corners, her eyes darting when I tried to catch her gaze. She laughed less. She touched her phone more. And then tonight, when I went looking for her, I found her slipping into one of the back corridors reserved for staff.“Lena?” I called softly. She froze. Her shoulders tensed before she turned, her face bright with a smile that didn’t quite reach her eyes. “Cassie! Didn’t see you there.”My heart pinched. “You’ve been avoiding me.”Her smile faltered. “No, I’ve just been… busy. Helping Jennifer

  • Shadows of Desire   The Sound Recorder Returns

I used to think the Red Room was untouchable—a temple of velvet and shadow, where the flicker of candlelight and the pulse of anticipation drowned out the outside world. Tonight, though, the space felt invaded. It happened when Marco called Victor and me in after closing. His usual grin was missing, replaced by something sharper, colder. He stood by the Saint Andrew’s cross at the far end of the room, arms crossed over his chest.“Look what our little snake left us,” he said, gesturing to the base of the cross.I walked closer, my stomach twisting. There, tucked against the wooden frame beneath the velvet drape, was a small black device. Not much bigger than a lighter.A sound recorder. My breath caught.Another one.Victor crouched, lifting the device into his palm with deliberate care. His jaw tightened, the blue of his eyes darkening like storm clouds. “Again,” he muttered. “Always here, in the rooms where trust is thickest.”I felt the air leave me in a rush. “It means someone’s b

  • Shadows of Desire   Tension Between Victor and Jennifer

The club was quieter than usual, the music dimmed, the floor was almost empty. But in Victor’s office, the air was a storm.I hadn’t meant to overhear. I was coming to bring him coffee—just an excuse to see him after a long night of watching others play—but when I reached the half-open door, voices clashed sharp as whips.Jennifer’s voice, rich and biting: “You control everything, Victor. Every rule, every protocol, every little detail as if Elysium would collapse without your iron hand.”Victor’s reply was low, thunderous. “Because without order, it would collapse.”I froze, one hand on the doorframe, heart pounding. I should have turned away, but I couldn’t. Their words pulled me in like a dangerous flame.Jennifer laughed—cold, bitter. “No, Victor. It isn’t the order you’re after. It’s control. Always control. Over the club, over the members, over me.”There was silence, thick and weighted, before Victor’s voice came again. “You mistake discipline for domination, Jennifer. Without

  • Shadows of Desire   Pet Play Party

The moment I stepped into the lounge, I knew this night would be different. The heavy atmosphere that usually hung in Elysium—darkness, intensity, whispers of secrets—had lifted. Instead, the main play floor was sprinkled with color and laughter. Plush mats and cushions covered the stage. Bowls filled with milk and water sat in neat rows. Collars gleamed under the chandeliers. Tails—furred, feathered, even jewelled—swished with each movement. It was Pet Play Night.I hadn’t been sure I’d participate, but Marco had cornered me earlier, waving a pair of velvet kitten ears with a mischievous grin.“Come on, Cass,” he teased, perching them on my head before I could protest. “You’d make the perfect kitten. Wide eyes, soft curves, always watching but ready to pounce.”I’d blushed furiously. “You’re ridiculous.”“And you’re adorable,” he countered. “Trust me, Victor will love it.”I’d rolled my eyes, but here I was, padding onto the mats in kitten ears, a soft leather collar snug around my t
