Chapter 39

last update Last Updated: 2026-01-20 00:07:14

My mind drifted, and I came back to reality.  I glance through my half-closed eye lids and notice, he’s not the only one in the room. Conrad and Edgar are also there. Hovering over my body. I open my eyes; they already probably know that I am awake. I try to pull on the chains, and I stare at Edgar with a defiant look. He stares back at me. They all stop their sexual probing of me. Conrad and Silas take step back at Edgars physical command, when he holds up his hand.

“So, this seems familiar, only different. How do we fucking kill you and make sure you don’t come back?” Edgar says. I smirked, then I spit in his face. He smirks then slaps me hard enough across the face, that I feel like jaw crack. I steel my reserve. I will not scream in pain to their delight.”

“Why me?” I ask through the pain.

“That’s a good question, you don’t know do you ?” I stare at him.

“Lover boy hasn’t told you?” Conrad said with a snicker.

“You’re descendant from a powerful deity. She fell in love with someone and gave up her immortality. As a goddess, she wouldn’t be able to have children with this person because her was not human however, as a mortal woman she could. She abandoned her eternal life. However, she retained her psychic abilities. According to legend they were in love and happy for several years. She had become pregnant. They were filled with joy. That is until she was killed by humans who thought she was a witch.” He laughed with bitterness. I stared at him like he was insane.

“So, you think I am related some mythical deity? And you what? want to snap your fingers, wish on genie for her back into existence? Are you insane or retarded?” I snapped with sarcasm. He grabbed me by the throat. The others went to hold him back.

“Do not think I will not end your fucking miserable existence Bitch!” he growled at me.

“You’re the one who made it miserable! I was fine until you showed up and tore my life apart!” I shouted at him in a cold voice devoid of emotion. He snarled and hit me repeatedly, each time harder than the last. I was coughing up blood. Wishing for Rudolph to miraculously find me.

“Legend says that she will be reborn into the through the Hofer family line! I will be damned if I let Rudolph claim the prize!” Edgar snarled while yelling my ear.

“Ask yourself, why it is that Rudolph continues to be blessed with having a mate that is reincarnated?” I stared at him, not willing to answer.

“She’s the matriarch of the LeFleur bloodline.” He said with a stone face. I stared at him in shock. Could that be possible? What if he was lying? He must have seen understanding dawn on my face. I searched even Silas’ eyes and only saw truth.

“That’s right you bitch, you’re descendant from a goddess, Rudolph’s first love. You should have seen his face when he thought humans destroyed her.” Conrad laughed. “I thought for sure he would hate them as we all do, why in the fuck does he continue to be so pathetic!” he snarled.

“You killed her?!” I shouted in rage. A power somewhere inside of me was breaking through at the revelation. I felt my soul beginning to snap, I felt like I heard a voice screaming in despair and pain. Like some part of my core was awakening in a painful magnitude. I saw a vision of myself, of Gabrielle, looking devastatingly beautiful and the of pain mixed with rage in her eyes could set the world on fire.

“No, I wasn’t born yet, that was a thousand years before my birth. My father did. He told me about it. My father wanted her but, she said he wasn’t worthy and refused him.”

“It wasn’t hard however for him to stir up the humans and set them loose on a witch hunt after her. Celenia and Rudolph were living in a house that used to sit on the Le Fleur grounds. There used to be elegant castle there. Rudolph had left to return to Germany. I had told him that his mother had been attacked by humans. Not seeing the danger towards his goddess, had left to attend to his mother. While gone, Conrads father led a rabble of pathetic humans to the estate. Celenia refused to attack the humans. She had said that her purity as a goddess would not allow her to kill innocent people. Thanks to Conrads Aunt Elenia, children had been going missing in the community. All it took was a bit of compulsion from Walter, telling the crowd that she was a witch who was eating children and “worshipping satan they stormed the palace without any other thought.”” He laughed in disdain “Humans are so pathetic and easily fooled.” He continued to laugh. “What makes it worse is she thought it was humans and never saw the vampire who was really her demise.” They were all laughing.

“How would she get pregnant? If she’s a goddess, wouldn’t she be immune? I have heard of gods having kids  but, only with mortals” I said stalling for time.

“You’re right in that, as a goddess, yes normally it’s mortals however, she blessed her lover, with the ability to have children with her only or perhaps her bloodline.” He said with a knowing look at me.

“Gabrielle’s family said the exact same about me, now imagine my joy when you defied your family and chose me.” Silas said in smugness.

“Yeah, then you fuck around behind my back like a cheating man whore.” I threw it in his face. He snarled at me and hit me.

His hits I was becoming accustomed to. It didn’t take away the revulsion I still felt towards him. He forever changed how I would see him now that I knew everything. I felt the world between us shift, and all was laid bare. He was not the prince charming I ever  thought he was. He was scheming lying, insidious bastard who could rot in hell. If I ended up becoming immortal with him, I would torture his eternal existence.

“Be lucky we didn’t stay together, if you trapped me into immortality with you, and I learned the truth, I would make it my eternity to torture you daily after all you have done.” I tell him with as much malice as I can. I see pain and fear flicker in his eyes before he hardens himself again. He was about to strike me another time when Edgar roared.

“ENOUGH!”  He sneered and gave a sick smile. “I am going to enjoy this!” Edgar snarled.

He positioned himself. I screamed as he roughly slid into me. Filled me to the hilt. The others held me down as he began to pump his hard shaft into me, It hurt so much. He was not being gentle. It was extremely rough. I knew that the way this was going, he could kill me. Fuck me to death. I did my best to fight him. He knocked me in the head and told me to shut up and take it. I spit in his face. He roared in fury and started to go harder. I was pinned down but, I would fight with everything in me.

I reached out to Rudolph through my mind and gave a mental image of everything. I knew now why I felt so connected to him. It had nothing to do with me, yet it felt like it had everything to do with me. I was his eternal soulmate. We were Shadows of the night passing each other, torn apart by death but, meant for each other by fate. Eternal soulmates, yet shadows in the dark. I reached for Rudolph with everything in me. I could almost see him in the field of flowers. He reached for me. I felt myself fading. Edgar must have figured out our connection in my mind cause he screamed.

“NO!!!” I felt him bite my neck and begin to drink.

“HE’LL NEVER HAVE YOU BACK!” He screamed in my face.

“Of course not! He doesn’t know where she is Ed!” Conrad rolled his eyes.

“No! She’s connected to him! She’s the one! Not Gabrielle, she’s got the telepathic powers of the goddess! She’s connecting in her mind!” he told them. They had a look of fury and disgust. At that moment they both start to bite me and drink. They were desperate to kill me. I screamed in pain, frustration, and malice.  I was not going to die by their hand. I would fight somehow! I felt a flutter in my stomach. I felt the flutter growing faint. Hours of sex with Rudolph clicked in my brain. Sex with no condom! I realized with that meant and I was about to join the goddess in the same way. Pulled into eternity, savagely murdered with pregnant. Just like Gabrielle, just like her. I felt rage inside of me. I could not go out like this! Somehow, I saw a bright blinding light reach out to me. If it meant salvation, I welcomed it. Anything but death and separation from Rudolph.

“I thought, your big scheme was to drive Rudolph mad by killing me in front of him?” I croaked out. They all paused their assault on me. “You’re taking the cowards way out again! Admit it! you di this cause you can’t face him!” I groaned the truth they refused to hear. Egar roared and started his torture again. I felt myself slipping as I heard a sound so sweet.

The rest of the Hofer family had cleared the area. Except for Walter. I saw him hiding in the crowd. He was staring at the scene in bitterness. There was a sneer on his face. He ran towards Rudolph at the battle arena. Ralph was hurt; he was prime target to easily kill. I lived through so much, I was not losing him.“WALTER!” I roared. He stopped and stared at me. There was fear in his eyes, he looked pale for a moment.“Oh Goddess, of bullshit! You think you can come back! Never!” he bellowed as he threw a spear at me. I hit the ground to get out of the way. I heard a groan from behind me. The spear had hit my grandfather.“No!” I ran towards him and held him as his life faded from his eyes.“I love you buttercup. I am so sorry, I never told you.” He said as he breathed his last. I cried in sorrow. I reached back with the power of the goddess I knew was flowing inside of me. I grabbed Walter by the throat like a Sith as he was about to perform a killing blow to Rudolph. He choked as

I heard the roar of pain, rage and my eternal salvation. I felt the ground quake. I had left the mental door open for Rudolph to hear everything. With eyes slipping closed, I saw the castle walls being ripped open like the wrath of the earth and powerful force was being slammed into the room. The walls ripped open. Broken, and bleeding I saw Rudolph in all his eternal glory. His eyes were the color of fire, ablaze with revenge with the need for revenge his been seeking for the last thousand years. The constant betrayal of his family cut deep. I saw Victor Hofer and several others storming into the room. I saw an invisible power pick up Edgar and rip him away from me. He flew several yards and hit an ancient building. He screamed in anger. Several vampires were surrounding me and snarling at Conrad and Silas.“Get her out of here!” Rudolph roared to one of them. Fredrick came to me as I was coughing up blood.“Oh my God! Miss Katie! Forgive me!” he bellowed as tears streamed down his f

The left side of my head feels sticky and has the most throbbing. I feel like someone just hit me with a Mack truck. My eyes are groggy but begin to focus around the room. I am no long bathed in the darkness of where I was but, I am still not in good shape, I look down trying to focus my eyes. I left eye can barely open. Whoever hit me must have given me a black eye, on top of knocking me the fuck out.I look around. I am in a bedroom I do not recognize. It looks ancient, the design looks it’s a medieval castle bedchamber room. The bed is large enough to fit a dozen people but, there’s dust everywhere. It shows, it has not been used in forever. There is a faint glow of a light in the room. As if it is lit with a torch or candles. I feel hands roaming around me. I lay still. It feels also, like I cannot move my legs? Did they break them or something

I remember Ralpha left telling me to stay in the house. Before leaving, as an escape route, he removed the stone from the entrance of the tunnel. He told me if anything happened. I could escape to the tunnel. Find a chamber room and lock myself in or hide in the mansion. I nodded, grateful for an escape I can rely on. He told me to call him if I can, if anything happens. That was a few hours ago. He said that he was going to arrange with Fredrick and the Hofer family our trip to Germany. He needed to prepare the vampire counsel of my presence as well. He said that not everyone would be on board with a human being included into his world. He said that if they knew I am intending to one day change and become queen that would settle them down.He said there has not been a vampire royal couple. King and Queen since his parents. His parents were killed six hundred years ago during the Middle Ages. Humans during that time were more aware of vampire creatures and were not accepting. There we

We start getting dressed. He looks outside and checks to make sure the coast is clear. He calls on his phone to Fredrick and speaks with him. When he is done, he tells me that Conrad and Edgar no longer appear to be in the area. I should be safe. I breath a sigh of relief.“You can’t stay here right now.” He tells me.“I honestly never wanted to. Too much has happened to me here to want to be here.”“You will be here eventually but, right now I need to keep you safe. You’re coming with me to Germany.” He tells me with finality. I look at him in surprise. I am going with him to the Hofer family estate. If he’s really the same one who was with Gabrielle, this means I am going to the “Lord Hofer” estate where he was once a person of German royalty. The amount of German historical ancestry this is, I am nervous and excited.“In my vision, they were saying that you called a ‘Vampire King’ of Germany?” I ask him he looks at me warily.“Yes, that is true, you don’t need to worry about it. th
