Charles

Now back in my office, I unbutton my jacket and pull it off to hang it on the back of my chair. I took a seat and let out a breath that I’ve been holding. My mind wanders to the woman who is sitting outside my office door. What am I going to do with this woman? I have hired many attractive PA’s before, but this woman beats them all. I feel an attraction to her that I have never felt before, and that’s not good. Maybe I made a mistake in hiring her.

Just then, my mind imagines having her pinned against the wall with her skirt up around her hips while I pound into her repeatedly. The thought causes a tightness in my pants. For the first time, I think my cock may have something to do with my business decision. “Damn it,” I say while slamming my fist on my desk. “Fuck just stay away from her” is what I tell myself. I thought I had this in check when I hired her, but my cock is not in agreement.

I’m thankful that she didn’t notice the bulge in my pants when I stood up to show her around. My dick decided to stand at attention the moment she entered the room. That pencil skirt is like the one from last week; it hugs her curves in all the right places. It shows off her apple-shaped ass, having me wonder what her ass would look like while I have her bent over my desk as my dick disappears in and out, while she screams my name.

Damn, I need to stop thinking about her. She is my personal assistant, and I don’t fuck where I work. Doesn’t matter anyway. I think I hurt her when I talked about her clothes. Yes, they fit her body, but they also screamed cheap, and I can’t have that. I hated the look on her face when I mentioned them. I turn my chair to face my large office window. I am perplexed as to why she keeps looking down while playing with her hands in her lap. My phone begins to ring. I look at the screen to see Lisa’s name flashing. “Fuck.” I say out loud. I know if I don’t take it, she will keep calling, and if that doesn’t work, she’ll try to stop by. “Hello,” I say.

            “Well, hey there, baby.”

“What can I do for you, Lisa?”

“I wanted to make sure that you didn’t forget about the gallery showing this Wednesday?”

“No, I haven’t. I’ll meet you there at seven.”

“How about you pick me up as a proper date, should?” She asks with a hint of humor in her voice.

“This is not a date. This will be the last time I accompany you to anything. We are going as friends, if you can even call us that.” I say in a stern tone.

“You know that we will never be just friends. We were made for each other. I know I have done some things in the past, but I was young. I made a mistake. It’s time that you forgive me.”

“I don’t know who you are made for Lisa. It might be the Devil himself, but it sure as hell is me, and it will never be me. As far as what you did, I don’t have time to rehash it. I have a company to run, so once again, I will see you at the gallery at seven on Wednesday. Now, if you don’t mind, I have to go.” I hit end call.

That witch thinks she can get next to me again. I laugh at the thought. I don’t care what anybody says about it. She thinks that she can lie to me, betray me, and everything is going to be okay. I shake my head. What am I saying? Of course, that’s what she thinks. That girl has always been trouble, but against my better judgment, I overlooked that. That’s a mistake I will never make again. She’s a spoiled rich girl who is used to getting what she wants. Her father babied her because her mother abandoned her, and she was his only child. She’s crazy, and spoiled all rolled up in one, and that’s some shit I want nothing to do with.

SamanthaI arrive at work in record time and walk through the office as I normally do, but there was something different this time. As I pass Stella’s desk, I notice she isn’t there. Thinking that she might be in with Charles, I leaned against his door to see if I could hear anything. Yes, I know it’s wrong to eavesdrop, but I don’t care. I didn’t have to press my ear very hard. There was loud laughter that came from the other side. I knock on the door.“Come in,” he saysI open the door, expecting to find Stella there, but instead I find a young, slender woman dressed to kill in designer clothes sitting on the couch with Charles on the other end. Her hand was gently grazing Charles’ arm. I felt a ping of jealousy. I have no right to be jealous, but that doesn’t stop the monster from roaring its ugly head. There must have been a look on my face, one that made Charles realize that I was watching their hands, because Charles removed his hand from hers as if her touch burned him. He st

  • Shattered Lives    Chapter Six

CharlesSamantha and I take our seats in a booth. A tall, strawberry blonde, curvy woman named Michelle comes by to take our orders. Michelle stands too close, and her eyes linger longer than they need to while taking our order. I see by the look on Samantha’s face that she has noticed as well. Michelle leaves to fill our drink orders. I was about to say something to Samantha when I heard music playing. Samantha begins rifling through her purse. She pulls out her cell phone, and that’s when I realize that the music was coming from her phone. I’m surprised to hear the song “Beautiful” by Christina Aguilera playing. Samantha looks at her phone but does not answer it. Instead, she places it on the table, then places her purse back inside the booth next to her. “What?’ She asks. I can tell by the way she talks that my staring is a bother, but Samantha is a wonder to look at. But I would rather not tell her that. “I’m just shocked by your ringtone. I thi

  • Shattered Lives    Chapter Five

SamanthaAs I was settling in at my desk, I noticed a tall drink of water (as my mother would say) walk in and stop at Stella’s desk. The man looked to be about 6’1’ or maybe 6’2’ with straight short blonde hair and hazel eyes. He has a tailored suit that shows his lean physique. I watch the interaction between him and Stella. “Hello, Mr. Evans. How are you doing today?” Stella asks. The guy learns over Stella’s desk. “Stella, you and I both know that you have known me since I was small so I don’t know why you feel the need to call me by my last name. Please call me Josh for the last time.”“Okay Josh. You can go in, nobodies in there.”Josh walks around Stella’s desk while looking at me. Then stops at my desk. “Well who do we have here?”For some reason, I don’t seem to be able to speak.“You have a name sweetheart?”“Samantha Clarkson.” I say pulling myself together.Josh extends his hand for a handshake. “I am Josh. One of Charles’s oldest friends. Do you mind if I call

  • Shattered Lives    Chapter Three

Samantha“Please stop! Don’t hurt me! I’m sorry!” My eyes fly open. I take a quick scan of my surroundings only to find that I’m in my bedroom. It’s a little unnerving to wake in my bed when I last remember being in the living room. When I sit up, I find that my clothes are clinging to me. The realization hits me that sweat is pouring from my body. My pulse is racing. The light from my bathroom catches my attention. I keep it on for times like this when I wake from a nightmare, not sure where I am. After calming myself down and getting my breathing under control, I climb out of bed. There’s still a part of me that is panicking. My steps are tentative as I leave my room. I peek my head around every corner before entering the next room to make sure that no one is there. Once I see the coast is clear, I make sure the door is secure by pulling on the knob to check the lock.Walking back to my bedroom, I breathe easier knowing that everything is the same as I left it. I sit on my bed near

  • Shattered Lives    Chapter Two

SamanthaI get home, slip off my shoes, and open a bottle of white wine. I need this after the day I’ve had. I went to four other job interviews after the one at Maxwell Publishing. They were all brutal. Each one had wall-to-wall women who looked like models applying for the jobs. The job market is tough right now, so I have no idea what my chances are of getting a call back. I take a seat on my couch with my glass of wine in hand. I place the glass of wine in my hand on the couch, making sure not to spill as I lie back and close my eyes. Images appear in my head as soon as I close my eyes. Not surprising to me that the images are of the handsome man Charles Maxwell. I can’t help but replay the sound of his voice in my head. His voice is strong and forceful. It sends a chill down my back. I imagine his hands caressing my body. As the thoughts run through my mind, my heart begins to race. My breathing becomes shallow. My eyes fly open, shocked at how my body is
