We got to Ava's place, and she was happy to see me at the door. She looked confused when she saw Andrea and stared at me, waiting for some sort of explanation.

"Oh yeah, this is Andrea. She's a new pack member.”

“She doesn't smell like she's a part of our pack." She raised an eyebrow.

"Oh my goodness, that must be so insensitive of me to ask. I know that Alpha has gone off to war. I can't even imagine how you are dealing with things right now." She tugged my hand and pulled me into the room. "Come on, settle in."
