Mag-log inMia
The moon is half full, so I have a little light to guide me on my journey. I am not quite sure where I will go, but I am excited to finally be free. Anything is possible as long as I can make it past the border.
With the party starting, the borders will not be patrolled, and I can slip away easily.
I run up an embankment when headlights flash in my face, I scream quickly picking up pace as I miss being hit by a car by inches.
My heart races as I make it to the other side as I listen to the car slam on their brakes. Oh no. What if they look for me?
I hold my breath until I hear the car start and move on. I take a deep breath and turn around, quickly moving through the trees.
That was close.
The night air is cold, and I smile, letting every scent fill me. The trees smell like pine, and the night air is so fresh and clean. I am never allowed to go out after dark to walk in the forest.
They say I am easy prey since I have no wolf, and I guess they are right; I could be mauled easily.
I have been walking for about thirty minutes when I see the red poles that mark our boarders. I crouch down, looking around, but as I suspected no one is guarding the boarders.
I smile, holding my knapsack closer to me as I run towards freedom… This is it!! But as I get closer, a warning howl comes from my pack and I gasp as I watch wolves emerge from the border, running towards me…. But they are not my pack.
I let out a scream, turning around to run but I already know I do not stand I chance. I run as fast as I can until something heavy hits me in the head and everything goes fuzzy. I watch as the wolf shifts, laughing as drops me to the ground, “now what do we here?” he grins, circling me as I shake on the ground.
“Please,” I plead, let me go.”
“Let you go?” He smirks, his eyes trailing my body, stopping where my arm should be. “What the hell is wrong with you?”
Tears fill my eyes, “I was born this way.”
He studies me for a moment before shrugging, “Are you apart of Menard’s pack?” My heart races as I think of what to say and he nods, “I see. Well, my Alpha has ordered we take every female from Menard’s pack for the breeding program.”
My eyes widen and I gasp, looking towards my pack as I realize we are under attack.
“But?” I begin, but what do I say? Do I tell him I don’t have a wolf? He may just kill me then. But who is attacking us? “Your Alpha?” I ask, my voice shaking.
He chuckles, before bending down and picking me up in one swift movement, “Alpha Perez.” He says so smugly.
“NO! NO!” I yell. Terrified. I was supposed to be sold to him tonight. I was trying to avoid this, but he only laughs as he treks back towards my packhouse. I watch as flames fill the sky and howls of terror ring through the night.
Maybe we still have a chance. We have mighty warriors, but as we get closer to the packhouse, I gasp in horror as I see the bodies of pack members I knew. “Don’t worry, sweetheart.” The giant man carrying me laughs. “You will carry many pups. Your story doesn’t end here tonight.”
“Put her over in the van with the others,” Another man says as he sees us and then I hear a blood curdling scream that I have heard many times before, only this time it’s one of terror and not authority, “NO NO! Please.” Veronica shrieks as three men drag her towards my shed. “Alpha Perez said we could have you now.” One says, pawing at her. “You are the Alphas daughter that he was selling to Alpha Perez… and we were told we would get first dibs.”
My heart sinks as I watch them drag her away: that was supposed to be me. They don’t know who I am.
Veronica has always been evil, but I don’t want this for her.
“Please, don’t do this!” I shout, now my fist pounding against his shoulder. “You can’t do this!!!” I start to fight back, but he only laughs.
“Maybe we should skip the van and go to that shed, too?”
The bile rises in the back of my throat as I realize I may not be going to the shed now, but I will be forced to be mated and become a breeder…. My family may have treated me poorly, but I was never forced to do anything like that before.
Tears fill my eyes, but as the van doors open, three more wolves emerge from the trees, and I gasp as they attack him. He growls, shifting quickly, dropping me on the ground, his claw grabbing my wig and pulling it off.
I gasp, as I reach for it, knowing if others see it, they will know what I am and they could kill me on the spot.
I whimper as one of the wolves who is attacking my captor, turns his eyes on me…. I knew it.
This is the end.
He stomps towards me as I hear my captor’s neck snap. I close my eyes, waiting for death to come but instead, arms shake me, “Can you shift? Are you hurt?”
I shake my head, as I open my eyes, “No, I cant shift….” I begin but one of his companions cut me off.
“Kane, we have to go!” he shouts in human form, but his eyes widen as he sees me. “No, it can’t be….”
“You see it, right?” the one he called Kane asks.
“Yes,” he pauses, “I see it.”
“I’m cursed,” I blurt out, covering my hair with my one hand, “Please, just let me go…” I plead, but it’s no use.
“Take her.” Their leader commands and my heart sinks….
What do they want with me?
KaneI slowly open my eyes, feeling Mia’s soft cheek against my chest. I sigh in relief as I realize this wasn’t a dream but a reality. I was never being punished or forsaken….I have found my mate…. and she is an ancient.“Good morning,” Mia says cheerfully, drawing me out of my thoughts.“Good morning,” I chuckle, pulling her closer to me. I watch as she breathes in deeply, taking in everything that happened last night.“So, what now?” She asks me her head, peeking up and her blue eyes peering into mine.I smile, moving a strand of her white hair from her face, before touching her cheek, “Now,” I smirk, pulling her on top of me. “Now,” I begin, but she positions herself onto me, slowly lowering her already wet folds down around me.I groan as she keeps eye contact with me as she slightly bites her bottom lip, moaning softly before beginning to ride me. I grab her hips, helping her keep balance as I encourage her to pick up speed. She moans louder as our bodies work together, I reac
MiaI know Selene told me not to be disappointed when I found out who my mate was, but I was not expecting it to be Kane.He is a stickler for the rules which means he and I being together is a big no-no for him. When I smelt the scent of Pine and musk, I was terrified it could have even been someone from Jackson’s pack, but then he came around the corner, and my entire world stopped.I couldn’t breathe… but I forced myself to. I forced myself not to reach for him. Instead, I walked past him into Loki’s arms… the man who actually wants me.I had to make Kane think I didn’t know he was my mate, and I had successfully avoided his touch al day, but then he grabbed me…..and it all went to shit.He knows I know…and the way his touch made me feel…. How can I deny this, but how can I accept him when he doesn’t truly want me?“DON’T, Kane! Just DON’T!” I yell back at him, walking away. This isn’t fair….“Mia! WAIT!” He says sternly, his voice making me shiver. The mate bond is no joke.I igno
Kane“Do you know where we are going or what’s happening?” I mind-link Finn, but he doesn’t reply. I am not sure he even knows where Veronica is, but he is trying to figure it out.He said Veronica needed us and she was under attack, but he hasn’t said anything since he just ran and we followed, hoping something sticks. In the distance, I hear growls and Finn picks up speed. I know he is terrified he may lose Veronica, but I am worried about Mia too.She could try to defend herself, but I am not sure she knows how to yet.I see some of Jackon’s pack members ahead of us, but they are running in the opposite direction…. Some are even covered in blood. What is happening?I hear sobs as I get through the trees and my heart drops as I expect the worst, but I’m completely shocked to find Veronica in Finn’s arms and a silvery-white wolf stans beside her.My heart starts beating erratically as I see her. The scent of Lavander and rosemary assault my nose, and I gasp as I watch her shift back.
Mia“Mia, can you hear me?” Selene’s voice says softly. I open my eyes slowly, letting them focus.“Where am I?” I ask, groggily.“You are back at the lake,” she says, her hand landing on my shoulder. I look around and sigh in relief, sitting up and touching the strands of tall green grass with my fingers.“Do you know what happened?”I tilt my head as I think, “No,” I answer honestly. “I can’t remember.”Selene smiles as she sets next to me, “You are one of the most powerful of my descendants,” she says smiling. “But your power does have limits.”I gasp, remembering something, “I GOT MY WOLF!” I say, cheerfully.Selene nods, pointing to the lake, “You did.”I smile, leaning over the water, tears filling my eyes as I see her instead of my reflection—she’s really there… staring back at me.“Hi,” I whisper.I gasp as the water ripples and the suds bring my wolf to the shore. She stands on the grass, shaking the water from her shiny coat. She’s silvery white, beautiful, strong and just l
KaneWe manage to make it out of Jackson’s territory, but when I look back, Mia and Veronica are gone.“She’s hurt!!” Finn panics, pacing back and forth.“Find out where she is!” Loki tells him, but I have a feeling it’s the same as us—we have no idea“How did they even get separated from us?” Loki gasps, frustration covering his words and Finn growls.“That was the plan! As soon as they knew what she was they wanted her! They wanted to separate them from us! It was foolish for Mia to do that!”Loki glares at Finn, shoving him, “She was just trying to show the children they could trust us! That she was one of them so we wouldn’t hurt them!” he yells, but Finn shoves him back.“IT WAS STUPID!” He growls, his eyes turning red. “Jackson will never stop looking for Mia now and she’s very easily recognizable,” he pauses. “One armed she-wolves aren’t a normal thing, you know!”“Knock it off,” I growl. “There is nothing we can do about any of it now.” I pause. “We need to find them,” I say,
MiaI watch the woman cradle the baby in her arms, singing the song… no, my song… as my heart races…. “Do you recognize her?” I ask hopeful… I really want that to be Audra.“No,” he says softly and I sigh, feeling sadness. I was really hoping that it was her and I could find out if she was my mother.“I count three pups,” Finn says, looking at Loki and Kane and they both nod.“Why isn’t the cabin guarded?” Veronica asks, looking around. “You would think he would guard this place, so she doesn’t take the children and run…”I look around realizing she’s right, “Maybe she thinks it’s too dangerous to try to escape.”“Or maybe she’s too weak since they use her healing powers,” Veronica says and I sigh, looking back at the children. We need to get them all to safety...“Well, she said Jackson would be bringing dinner soon… so let’s get them and go,” Kane says and we all nod, looking around before we walk up to the door. The woman hears noise outside and opens the door, “Hey, baby,” she beg
