Raven’s POV. Kai left before sunrise. I stood by the window and watched him walk away until I could not see him anymore. He didn’t even look back. Author's pov. Raven ran after Draven until her lungs burned out. The docks were a mess of ropes, splintered wood, and men hauling gear. A ship sat at the river bank. Men were climbing aboard with crates containing food skd resources. Raven's fists clenched the moment her eyes landed on Draven who had boarded the ship. “Draven!” she yelled, her voice loud and raw. Draven stood near the gangplank, calm as always. His cloak hung heavy on his shoulders and his face was a mask of patience.
