Raven's POV.

The wind howled wildly around me like the cry of a wounded animal. I stood on the battlefield with my teeth bare. I was ready to tear down every fucking Lycan here.

Blood dripping from my claws, everything around me was in chaos. Wolves against Lycans, my men's agonizing screams filled the air as bodies dropped, both mine and the Lycans.

We were losing. It was more brutal than we expected.

I pushed my feet into the soaked earth, trying not to fall as another group of Lycans lunged at me.

The ground beneath me was red with blood. Damien fought beside me, his fur soaked with blood, his and that of the Lycans, he had so many deep cuts on his body but that didn't stop him.

He’d killed so many already and I could see he was tired. We all were.

“For werewolves,” I yelled, trying to be louder than the noise around us. A few of my soldiers heard me. They looked up, hailing our slogans and continued the battle with full force but that didn't help. The Lycans were killing us,

    Author’s POVThe cave was lit by a sickly red glow. Candles made of black wax flickered around the edges, their flames bending unnaturally. A thick fog rolled along the ground, swirling around Damien’s boots as he paced impatiently.In the middle of the cave stood a rough stone, an ancient altar covered in old dried blood. The black witch moved slowly around it drawing strange symbols on the stone with a dagger made from animal bone. Damien’s jaw clenched. He looked toward the small figure lying unconscious nearby — Xavier. The boy’s small chest rose and fell weakly. His wrists were bound with silver-thread ropes.“Are you done yet?” Damien asked. “The auspicious time is almost over!”The witch didn’t look up. “Do not rush me, Lord Damien.
