KAI’S POV Two days before the reveal. I went back to the slave quarters. The sun was barely up, but people were already outside. Some were sweeping the dusty floor, some were fixing broken wood from the old shelters. It was just another day in the slaves quarters. It was all about work. I inhaled deeply, walking inside. Immediately they saw me, they stopped working and ran to me. They looked like they had just been dug from the ground. Most of them looked half dead, the smile on their faces was the only thing that gave me reassurance that they weren't just walking corpses. “You’re alive!” one of the girls shouted. Another boy hugged me tightly. “We thought you were gone.” I smiled. I didn’t know I could smile like that anymore. After everything, it felt strange… but good. “I’m glad to see you all,” I said, patting the boy’s head. “I missed you.” They surrounded me, everyone trying to talk at once, they were laughing, crying, even the old cook came out and called me her
RAVEN'S POV.I don’t remember the ride back to the palace, everything felt like a dream. One minute, I was in Kai’s arms on the battlefield, and the next, I was lying in a bed too soft for someone who had just come back from the dead.I was brought back to the palace, the villagers cheers were awfully annoying. I just came back from the dead, and what I craved more than anything was peace and quiet but thankfully, darkness consumed me before the cheers could kill me. My eyes fluttered opened as the morning song of the flying birds drifted in, when I opened my eyes fully, the first person I saw was my mother. She was sitting on a chair beside my bed, her face looked all wrinkled, her hair was messy, and her eyes were red like she had been crying a lot.“Mom,” I muttered. This was the first time I saw her in this state. She looked at me, her expressions flickered to shock as she covered her mouth with her hand, and more tears fell.“You’re awake,” she whispered, her voice shaking.*Wh
RAVEN'S POV. I woke up coughing blood. My body was shaking, cold, and drenched in sweat. I could barely move.I took in a deep painful breath and took a quick glance around. It looked like a cave, I wasn't in the tent anymore. The healer beside me was muttering prayers under her breath, her body trembling in fear. I groaned, trying to sit up but the pain in my belly sent me down. “You are awake,” the healer said, eyes wide with surprise.I blinked slowly, trying to sit up again but the pain only became sharper. “Don’t move,” the healer said, pressing me back down with her hand. “You’re lucky to even be breathing. The poison should have killed you.”I forced my cracked lips to move. “Where… am I?”“We moved you to an abandoned cave on the western ridge. Lycans already stormed the camp, we had to move you here so the Lycans won't kill you,” she revealed, her voice filled with pain. “Where are the rest?” I demanded. Her eyes went down as tears flowed down. “Your people… they kne
Author's pov. Back at the palace, the palace was in chaos, everyone was scared, even the slaves knew that they were in deeper trouble. The whole Kingdom wss thrown into chaos, the news spreading like widefire The Alpha was dead.At first, no one believed it. They thought it was a joke, until some travelers said the same thing…the Alpha was dead. Theodora couldn't believe it, she didn't want to believe that Rowan, the greatest warrior of all time was defeated. It was all a joke, a prank to her. Her daughter was dead. And that was the first time she admitted that Rowan was hsr daughter, not her son. Raven was more than her daughter, she was her soul and that soul have been sucked out of her body, she felt empty. Many people didn't want to believe it too, and the elders still clung to hope like children gripping their blankets during a nightmare. But it was true, it was a harsh reality that they had no choice than to accept. This was the end of the werewolves rule. The message h
RAVEN’S POVThe battle was over and we had won…somehow. But it wasn't a happy ending, we had lost most of our warriors, only a few were left. We stood at the center of the field, too sad to sing the war song or the victory song, the only sound heard on the battlefield was that of the crowd, feasting on the bodies. This was indeed the biggest war we had experienced. We had nothing again, we were too weak to burn the bodies of the Lycans…that was our last respect to the Lycans fallen…yeah, wolves are not all badMy people slowly gathered our dead aside, piling them up and burnt them to ashes giving them the proper final rites. I took in deep breaths, watching their ashes scattered into the air, I couldn't hold back my tears.Kai was gone. He must have been among the people who turned to pieces. My fists clenched tightly, caging his moon pendant in my fist. I gave him the pendant before the war, praying that we reunite again but I guess that wasn't part of what fate had. I wasn't ev
Raven's POV.The wind howled wildly around me like the cry of a wounded animal. I stood on the battlefield with my teeth bare. I was ready to tear down every fucking Lycan here. Blood dripping from my claws, everything around me was in chaos. Wolves against Lycans, my men's agonizing screams filled the air as bodies dropped, both mine and the Lycans. We were losing. It was more brutal than we expected. I pushed my feet into the soaked earth, trying not to fall as another group of Lycans lunged at me. The ground beneath me was red with blood. Damien fought beside me, his fur soaked with blood, his and that of the Lycans, he had so many deep cuts on his body but that didn't stop him. He’d killed so many already and I could see he was tired. We all were.“For werewolves,” I yelled, trying to be louder than the noise around us. A few of my soldiers heard me. They looked up, hailing our slogans and continued the battle with full force but that didn't help. The Lycans were killing us,
