LOGINKillian’s P
I returned to the slave quarters just as the sun began to set, the sky painted in soft shades of orange and crimson. My footsteps echoed against the stone floor, slower than usual, the moment I walked into the slaves quarters, everyone froze, it was like time itself stopped. "Killian!" someone yelled. Others turned to me, gasps filling the air as they stared at me like I was some kind of ghost. “Kai,” Theo called from behind. I slowly turned to him, my lips curled into a faint smile. He rushed to me, pulling me into a hug before I could stop him. Theo was always this emotional freak, we were the complete opposite of each other but we were inseparable, if anything had happened to me, I knew it won't take long for him to snap. “I thought you were dead,” he said, his voice choked with tears as he released me from his grip. “Are you crying?” I snorted. He smiled, wiping his tears. “Do you have any idea how worried I was?” He eyed, removing a dagger from his pants. A low chuckle escaped from my lips as I saw the dagger. “Is that for Jarek?” I asked, pointing to the dagger. He laughed, checking out the dagger like he was just seeing it for the first time. “I was almost close,” he revealed. That was a lie—at least not completely. He ‘almost close’ meant he did move close to Jarek but became a pussy at the last minute, everyone knows he doesn't have the balls to do anything dangerous. “Yeah, yeah,” I nodded, my voice filled with sarcasm. He rolled his eyes but didn't push further. “So what happened man, we all thought you were dead.” "I thought I was dead too," I admitted, a small smile on my face. "How?" another voice demanded. "How are you alive?" "I was moved," I said. "Upgraded. I’m no longer a slave, I'm now a sentinel.” Everywhere went silent, even the wind seemed to have held his breath at that moment. They all stared at me confused. I don't blame them actually, in the whole history of this pack, it has never been recorded that a slave became anything more than a slave. "What?" Theo's voice cracked. "Sentinel? But… you’re a slave. That’s not possible." I shrugged. "It seems everything's changing." “Things change everyday but there are some things that don't,” Theo insisted. “Do you know how many servants have lost their lives because they went into the Alpha's chamber, not to talk of the slaves, how the hell is this possible?” “Well, you better believe it, guys,” I said, my voice filled with pride. “So you are leaving us?” Another small boy said, his voice filled with tears. “The servants would bully us more.” "I’m still me," I said, taking the boy into my hands. “Don't worry, I would use my position to protect all of you.” The room erupted with soft cries, nods, even a few smiles. One by one, they touched my arm, my shoulder, like they had to feel it to believe it. “You’ve made it out, Kai,” Theo said, his voice proud. “And now you’re going to make them see us.” “I will,” I said. “For all of us.” The Sentinel quarters were nothing like the slave halls. Wide stone walls, spacious rooms that actually had beds. This place was actually paradise compared to even the servants quarters. Immediately I walked into the place, everyone turned to me with a disdainful look, some of them were walking away from me like I was some kind of ghost or something. “He’s the slave,” someone whispered, pointing a finger at me but I wasn't bothered by that. I have experienced worst. "What’s he doing here?" someone muttered. "Did they let dirt into our house?" "I smell weakness." I kept walking further, my shoulders were straight. One guy stepped forward and blocked my path. "You lost, mutt?" I looked him square in the eye. "No. Just finding my room." He scoffed, but I moved past him, with no guide, I finally found my room, the last door on the hall. Inside was a bed, a wooden trunk… and another guy sitting on his bunk, tying his boots. He looked up, blinked once. "New roommate?" "Yeah," I replied. "Name’s Killian. Or Kai, if you like short." "Ruben," he nodded. "Welcome to hell,” he smiled. He seemed nice and that was scary. “You must be the slave guy,” he said, still tying his boots. “You must be something special for the Alpha himself to break two laws for you.” A loud bell rang, echoing through the hall. "Breakfast," he said, standing. "You’ll want to eat fast before they talk you into a fight." My stomach growled, as I just realized that I haven't eaten for two days straight, I followed him immediately. The dining hall was packed. Food lined the tables—bread, roasted meat, fruit. I stepped into line just as a group of three bulky sentinels pushed past. "Out of the way, trash," one said. I ignored them, waiting for my turn. I finally grabbed my food, looking for a table. The whole place was packed, everyone sitting in groups, but their eyes were still on me as they whispered among each other. Luckily I found an empty table in the corner, I slowly walked towards the table, ignoring their piercing gaze. Just when I sat down, someone threw a bowl of soup at me. Everyone started laughing. My jaw clenched but I didn't turn back, I slowly used my hands to clean the soup off my shirt as if it would make a difference. “Hey,slave,” someone shouted from behind. I scoffed loudly, dropping my spoon angrily in the bowl. This wasn't going to work. Just when I thought I was going to get a decent meal after two years, some fucker decided to ruin it. “Hey, dick,” someone called, hitting the back of my head. “Are you deaf?” I ignored him, taking up my bread and stuffed it in my mouth. “It's just bread, slave boy,” his hand covered his mouth as if shocked about something. “Do you even know what that was?” I ignored him, devouring my meal like I had no worries in the world. I have been eating foods not even worthy for a pig for almost two years now, I won't let some dick take away my appetite. “Hey,” he called, leaning closer. “you don't belong here asshole.” I inhaled deeply, gulping down my water before turning to him. “I'm here on the alpha's request, are you saying he don't know what he is doing?” I asked, my voice steady and controlled. The man blinked, turning to his comrade for support but no one moved forward. As if knowing he can't beat me, he turned to a slave boy who was clearing the dishes. It was Mikel. The asshole grabbed him by the neck, shoving him to the ground, Mikel groaned in pain but quickly got back up. Others kept cheering the asshole as he kept hitting Mikel hard in the face. I was on my feet before I knew it and caught his hand mid air before it could hit Mikel again.. "Back off," I barked. The man turned, sneering "You again? What, you want a beating too? He eyed, jerking his hands away. I ignored him, turning to Mikel. This boy was just like a magnet to beating, whether it was his fault or not, he never misses a good beating everyday. “I would help you,” I said to him, helping him pick up the plates on the floor. The asshole might have thought I was foolish or something, he tried to punch me on my head. I caught his fist mid air, his bones crushing under my grip. He screamed in pains as he tried to free himself but my grip only tightened which made him scream louder. “What's going on here?” A loud deep voice said from behind, I slowly turned my head towards the strange man. I have never seen him before but he looked like he was a man of authority. Ruben stepped forward, signaling me to let the asshole in my clutches go. I reluctantly obeyed, the asshole scrambled towards the strange man, bowing his head down. Like I guess he was definitely a man of influence. “You must be Killian,” the man said, with a faint smile. “I will watch my back if I were you,” he said, his voice steady, he turned and walked away, everyone giving way for him to pass. Ruben moved closer to me but my eyes were still on the strange man. “You just got here but you already signed your death,” he said, his voice filled with fear. “Who is that?” I asked, casually. “That's Zade, he is the best and most feared sentinel we have, if you want to survive here, it's best you don't get on his bad side.” My lips curled into a faint smirk as I watched him finally disappear into the crowd. So that was the boss of sentinels, It seems like I have found out the next position to aim for. I turned to Ruben. “Tell me everything you know about him, and please don't leave out any detail.”Raven's pov. I stood before the mirror, staring at my gown. It shimmered like soft moonlight. My hands trembled slightly as I adjusted the lace at my shoulder. For a long moment, I just stared at myself in the mirror. I wasn’t sure if I was ready for this new beginning. The door burst open. “Raven!” My mother called. She rushed toward me, her smile bright but her eyes wet. “The guests are waiting, dear. Everyone’s ready.”I forced a smile. “I’m coming.”She touched my cheek gently. “You look beautiful. Just like the moon goddess herself.”I laughed softly. “Let’s hope the moon goddess approves.”When I stepped into the hall, everyone stood up as I walked past them. At the front, Kai was waiting. His dark hair was brushed back, and his eyes glowed softly in the candlelight. His smile—gods, that smile—made me have butterflies in my belly. I walked slowly down the aisle, the soft music echoing through the hall. When I reached him, Kai took my arm and leaned closer. His breath brush
Raven's pov. Damien stood at the center of the cave, his eyes glowing gold, his smile sharp like a blade. The marks on our body were now glowing. I didn't know what it meant but I knew power was flowing through my veins and I was about to let it waste.“Still want to play god?” I asked.Damien smirked. “You can’t win this, Raven. You and your little mate have no idea what you’re dealing with.”Kai stepped forward, his jaw tight. “Try us.”The ground trembled as Damien raised his hands. The air around him shimmered. Black smoke curled from his palms and shot toward us. I jumped left, Kai leapt right. The smoke hit the wall behind us, exploding with a crack that made the ground shake.I rushed forward, my claws ready. Damien blocked my first swing and slammed his elbow into my ribs. Pain shot through me, but I caught his wrist before he could strike again and kicked him in the chest. He stumbled back, growling.Kai dashed in, throwing a punch that hit Damien square in the jaw. Raven’s POV“Damien!” I screamed, rage ripping through my throat. I ran straight toward him, but before I could even reach him, he lifted his hand and flicked his wrist. The air cracked like thunder.I flew backward, slamming into the cave wall. The stone tore through my back, and before I could move, an invisible force pinned me there. My body trembled under his spell.“Stay still, Raven,” he said, his voice calm but filled with poison. He took a slow step toward me, his eyes glowing with that terrible golden fire. “You never learn, do you?”“Let me go!” I shouted, struggling against the magic pressing into my chest. “You bastard—”Before I could finish, he turned his palm upward. Behind him, Kai gasped, his body lifting from the ground, floating in midair. His muscles strained, his jaw clenched in pain.“Stop it!” I cried, trying to break free, but the harder I fought, the tighter his spell gripped me.Damien smiled, stepping closer. “You should have chosen me, Raven. You and I—we c
Raven’s POV. “Get away from my son!” I shouted. My voice echoed through the cave. The black witch lifted her head slowly, her mouth curling into a cruel smile. Before I could move closer, three men walked closer. They were tall, built like beasts, their eyes glowing faintly red.One of them grinned. “I don't think you read the sign. This place is off limits.”“I’ll tear through anyone who tries to stop me,” I hissed, flexing my claws. They laughed, spreading out around me. The biggest one lunged first, swinging a heavy arm toward my face. I ducked and slashed across his chest. He howled, but the wound only made him angrier. The second one came at me from behind. I spun and kicked him hard in the stomach. He staggered, but didn’t fall. I tried to move toward the altar, but the third blocked my path, cracking his knuckles.“Not so fast,” he said.I didn’t answer. I charged. My claws flashed, cutting across his forearm. He grabbed my wrist and slammed me back against the cave wall. P
Author’s POVThe cave was lit by a sickly red glow. Candles made of black wax flickered around the edges, their flames bending unnaturally. A thick fog rolled along the ground, swirling around Damien’s boots as he paced impatiently. In the middle of the cave stood a rough stone, an ancient altar covered in old dried blood. The black witch moved slowly around it drawing strange symbols on the stone with a dagger made from animal bone. Damien’s jaw clenched. He looked toward the small figure lying unconscious nearby — Xavier. The boy’s small chest rose and fell weakly. His wrists were bound with silver-thread ropes.“Are you done yet?” Damien asked. “The auspicious time is almost over!”The witch didn’t look up. “Do not rush me, Lord Damien. Magic like this requires patience. One mistake, and the soul will be lost forever — yours or the boy’s.”“I don’t care,” he snapped, running a hand through his hair. “Just finish it. I can feel the hour slipping away.”The witch turned slowly, h
Kai's pov.I finally got to the cave Damien asked me to meet him, something told me it was a trap but I didn't care at all. All that mattered was that I get my son out of this place immediately. I walked in looking around, there was no one there — neither was there a scent. My fists clenched in rage thinking that Damien tricked me into coming here for another reason. Just when I was about to leave, I heard a familiar voice from the shadows. “A little impatient, brother?” “Allen,” I growled, slowly turning back with a glare. “Disappointed?” He asked, stepping out from behind one of the stone pillars, with a evil smirk. I let out a low breath. “I’m not surprised you’re part of this,” I said calmly. “You never could stand losing to me. And now that I’m the Lycan Lord, I suppose jealousy finally drove you mad.”Allen laughed, his tone mocking. “Jealousy? Don’t flatter yourself, Kai. Jealousy only comes when someone that doesn't belongs to you is with another person. Mine isn't that.
