When the brave fall.

Raven’s POV

“Take care of him,” I told the doctor as Damien laid Fein gently on the bed.

The doctor nodded quickly and began working, checking his wounds and preparing something I didn’t recognise.

“Please…save him,” I whispered, my throat tight.

Damien touched my shoulder. “Come on, we need to face the council.”

I didn’t want to leave Fein. But Damien was right.

I nodded, taking another glance at Fein who was still fighting for his life. I swallowed hard, unable to contain my fear.

“I'm coming back soon,” I muttered and turned to go.

We walked to the council hall in silence. The hallway smelled of smoke and blood. I couldn’t get the image of Fein’s chest out of my mind.

The Lycans were brutal. Everyone knew that Fein was sold here as a child, captured by his own people and sold to my father. He grew up here and for years no one knew he was a Lycan except my mother who was only told the truth when my father died.
