Eleven
Two girls were staying alone one stormy night in one of their homes,when suddenly, the power went out,plunging them into darkness.
While they lay in bed,they heard a noise. The braver of the girls put on her dressing gown-white,with a furry collar around the neck-and went downstairs to check what the sound was. Twenty minutes passed,and the girl upstairs in the dark got increasingly frightened. At last she heard feet coming down the hall, but she began to worry that it might not be her friend, but someone else... She decided to hide behind the door with a lamp. When the person came in she would feel for the furry gown;if she couldn't feel it,she would lash out with the lamp.
The steps came closer. The door creaked open and the person was right next to her. She felt with her hand and found the fur collar. Feeling a little higher, all she felt was a STUMP where her friend's HEAD HAD BEEN!

A motorcyclist was riding one winter,wearing his jacket backwards. This method made the jacket windproof and warm. He hit some ice and fell off his bike,and was unconscious but not seriously injured. A passing motorist saw the spill and leapt out of his car to help. Seeing the biker with the backwards jacket, he was horrified,assuming the crash had twisted the man's head 180 degrees! Mr Brand was elderly and poorly, and during his last days,there was nothing his wife and the doctors could do for him,except make him as comfortable as possible until he passed away. One night, Mrs Brand saw headlights speeding up the driveway to their home.'Oh no,'she thought,'I don't want visitors now,not now.'But it wasn't a car bringing a visitor. It was an old hearse with maybe a half dozen little men hanging from the sides. At least,that's what it looked like. The hearse screeched to a stop. The men jumped off and stared up at her, their eyes glowing with a soft yellow light, like cats' eyes. She watched with horror as they disappeared into a side door of her house. An instant later they were back outside, lifting something into the hearse. Then they drove off at high speed,wheels squealing,the gravel in the driveway flying in all directions. At that very moment, the nurse came in,put her hand on Mrs Brand's shoulder, and told her that her husband had died.

Marc Quinn creates works of art using an unusual choice of material-his own blood. One of his best-known pieces is a sculpture of his own head made out of his blood that has been frozen solid. He used nine pints of blood for the sculpture, which created a sensation when it was first exhibited. The life-sized blood-red head even caused some people to faint when they saw it.Unfortunately, the work is no longer with us. The sculpture was purchased by millionaire art collector Charles Saatchi, who kept it in his home in a refrigerated case. Workmen in Saatchi's home moved the freezer case,unplugging the motor that kept the freezer going. A little later, the workers noticed that a pool of liquid had formed around the floor.They opened the freezer lid, and saw to their horror that the fragile, irreplaceable work of art was now a puddle of blood.

A nurse named Jane was unable to get along with the other nurses in her hospital. She was bitchy, unkind, and constantly quarreling with people. One night after Jane had been particularly horrible to a young student nurse, a bunch of colleagues decided to do something to teach her a lesson.One of the nurses on surgery duty agreed to bring a patient's arm (which had been amputated that day)to Jane's room and slip it in her bed after she was asleep. They knew this would scare the living daylights out of Jane, but they thought perhaps it might force her to be nicer in the future.The arm was carefully put in the bed with the sleeping Jane. The next morning she didn't come out. The nurses, thinking she might be unwell, went to investigate...They opened the door and saw Jane sitting on the bed. Her hair, black before, was now completely white, and she was gnawing on the arm, making gurgling noises and rocking. SHE HAD GONE

A man on a motorcycle was passing an eighteen-wheeled truck carrying sheet metal when one of the sheets shifted of and fell off the side of the lorry, neatly cutting off the motorcyclist's head. His headless body continued on its route, overtaking the truck. The truck driver saw the headless biker overtaking and immediately had a heart attack, severing his truck off the road into a ravine.I don't own any of this stories. Two elderly women went shopping. As they came out of the mall they spied a dead cat in the park.Being cat lovers, they couldn't bear the thought of leaving the poor dead kitty there. They decided to take it home and give it a decent burial. They went back into the store and got some shopping bags. They wrapped the dead kitty in one bag and then put it in another bag,hoping to contain the stink.It was lunchtime so their next stop was a local restaurant. As it was a warm day,they were reluctant to leave the dead kitty closed up in the car. So they placed the bag beside their car and went in to eat.Their car was visible through the window where they were sitting. They watched,amazed, as a lady walked by their car,stopped ,went back,stole their shopping bag, and walked into the restaurant!The thief ordered her lunch, and, curiosity getting the better of her,she opened the bag and peeked inside. She spent Thursday and Friday going from salon to salon, only leaving when the management refused to let her stay any longer for safety reasons. She finally achieved the colour she wanted and went out Friday night. A young couple purchased a new mattress for their bed,but when it arrived it seemed lumpy,and,on waking after a couple of nights, the wife discovered scratches on her neck and body,and felt queasy and faint.She was taken straight to the local hospital, where she made a complete recovery,though even after examination doctors were still mystified as to the cause of her injuries. The couple decided after a few days that their new mattress was just awful and returned it to the retailer. The store couldn't figure out why it was so lumpy so they took the mattress apart to look for any faults in its construction.They discovered that during the manufacture of the mattress in South America, a huge anaconda had snuck into the half-finished mattress and had been accidentally sewn into it. The snake was still alive, and the couple had been SLEEPING IN IT FOR THREE DAYS!
