Chapter 7: Why Not Cooperate

Vivian Winifred slammed the door. "She fell on her own, what does it have to do with me?"

"Right, Dad, don't blame my sister, it's my fault, I fell on my own!" Stacey Goldsmith said in a fluster.

"You're always defending her. How she treats you, and yet you're so naive!"

Darnell Winifred helped Tang Yule up, giving Vivian Winifred's door a fierce look. "Day after day, I don't know what foolish things you're all up to! Useless."

The next morning, Vivian Winifred received another call from the old man.

Curitis Judson had climbed over the wall again to deliver breakfast. Just as she was about to eat, Old Master called.

Old Master first inquired about her health, then lamented his age, poor health, and the possibility of not seeing his great-grandchild before he died...

In the end, he emphasized that nothing should jeopardize Vivian Winifred's future; it would be better to terminate the pregnancy. He was old, and his opinions didn't matter much. The unborn child wasn't important; what mattered most was Vivian Winifred's future.

If she gave birth—she actually loved children, just as Sophia Odelette had said. The child's mother was her, and the father was Broderick Judson, both with excellent genes. Over the next few days, the old man kept calling, sending her videos of adorable babies. The more she watched, the more she couldn't bear to part with the child in her belly.

When he sensed her resolve weakening, Old Master decisively proposed a grand wedding for them in a month. He wanted Vivian Winifred to marry Broderick Judson with honor, primarily to become the Seventh Young Lady of the Yun family.

"Grandpa, I only agreed to have this child for myself, not to marry Broderick Judson."

Vivian Winifred frowned at the old man's suggestion.

"Child, you haven't met Jingchen formally, so you don't know what kind of person he is. But I assure you, he's a good man. Besides, my main goal is for the child. A child is better off growing up with both parents, right? And if you don't come to our family, how can I pass on our family's wealth to you?"

"Can you consider this as a collaboration with me? You need someone to help investigate your mother's case, and I need someone to protect our little Seven. So, how about we team up? I know there are still many things about your mother's case that you haven't figured out, right?"

Hearing about her mother, Vivian Winifred froze. She had been investigating her mother's death, which had many suspicious points, but her limited power had hindered her progress. With the help of the Yun family, the investigation might be easier.

The old man had indeed moved her. Despite having powerful friends, she still couldn't uncover her mother's past. Perhaps she needed the influence of a deeply rooted aristocratic family. Additionally, she had no plans to remarry or fall in love again. Being with Broderick Judson and giving the child a perfect family might be a good choice. Broderick Judson, being ill, seemed safer.

Even if, as Sophia Odelette suggested, Broderick Judson was faking his illness, it wouldn't matter to her. They could live in peace.

After some hesitation, Vivian Winifred agreed to the marriage. The old man acted swiftly, coming to propose the very next day.

In the large hall of the Tang residence, Darnell Winifred looked at the old man in disbelief. "What did you say?"

"I said, our little Seven wants to marry Weiwei. I'm here to discuss this with you," Old Master said with a smile.

"Little Seven is—" Regina Winifred asked in surprise, "the Seventh Young Master, Broderick Judson?"

She was incredibly surprised. She had thought Tang Yule's engagement to the Qin family was impressive, but now the Yun family was proposing to Vivian Winifred! This was the top family in J City!

How did Vivian Winifred get such good luck? Wasn't the child in her belly from a beggar?

Did they not know about the illegitimate child in Vivian Winifred's belly? Or was Old Master, seeing that Broderick Judson was near death, looking for a socialite to marry him?

Old Master chuckled, looking at the three of them with a dignified air. "What conditions?"

"For the Tang family's eldest daughter to marry, the dowry must be no less than one billion. Plus, a company and the DC project—" Regina Winifred made a bold demand.

Darnell Winifred, who had initially opposed the idea, was now tempted by Regina Winifred's proposal.
