Personal carriage?

I looked around to search for a vehicle especially arranged for us, thinking that my grandparents must have hired someone to help us, considering the previous hardships.

But I found nothing, confusion clawing at my mind.

“What are you talking…”

The words died down in my throat as I turned and saw Cassian crouching in front of me, offering me his back for a ride.

My mouth dropped open.

“Cassian…?”

He glanced over his shoulder, grin widening.

“Come on. I won’t drop you.” He paused. “Probably.”

Damon snorted behind us. Carla covered her face, hiding her laugh. I rolled my eyes, but my heart thudded like a drum, warmth melting my worries.
