By the time I finished whispering the last piece of my plan into her ear, Mia’s reaction was priceless. Her whole face just… froze. Her eyes went as wide as saucers, and all the color seemed to drain from her cheeks for a second. She looked like someone who had just seen a ghost and a magic trick at the same time.

"Hey, stop pulling that face," I said, poking her arm. "You're making it a habit. Tjis is the third time you'd look at me like that. You should have gotten used to it by now, shouldn't you?"

She finally snapped her mouth shut with a soft click. Then she started shaking her head back and forth, fast and loose like a rattle drum.
