His Jealousy

Ryker POV

The sudden slam of the door being thrown open shatters the moment, tearing an aggravated sound from my throat. You’ve got to be kidding me.

“Get out,” Jaxon snarls, shooting an angry glare toward Aiden.

“Seriously? You’re such a fucking cockblock!” I shout in frustration, throwing my hands up in disbelief. “Yes, touch me. Wait, no, go away. No, I’m in denial! Then I finally decide to fuck another guy, and guess who’s right there, telling me to stop!”

Aiden shoves himself up from the bed, grabbing his shirt as he shakes his head, frustration radiating off him. “You know what, Ryker? This isn’t worth the stress. I’m done.”

“Aiden—” I begin, but he cuts me off sharply.

“No,” he snaps, pulling his shirt roughly over his head. “Whatever this twisted game is between you two, leave me the fuck out of it. Sort out your issues, then maybe we’ll talk.”

He pushes past Jaxon without another glance, storming down the stairs and out the front door, the slam echoing through the house. The

  • Slapshot Awakening   Him Again

Ryker POVI work slowly, easing him open with care even though I can feel the urgency between us like a damn heartbeat. His hips rock toward me now, like his body’s chasing it, desperate and past the point of return.“You’re killing me,” he pants, voice tight.“You asked for it.”Another finger pushes in, and he arches off the bed with a curse. I lean over him, kissing the corner of his mouth, his jaw, everywhere I can reach while he writhes under my hand. When I pull my fingers out, he makes a noise of protest that quickly dies when I line myself up and start to press in.His back arches again, mouth falling open in a sharp gasp, eyes wide and locked onto mine. I go slow, letting him adjust, watching every flicker of emotion ripple across his face.“You okay?” I ask, holding still. He nods quickly, breath catching. “Don’t stop.”I don’t. I push in deeper until I’m fully seated inside him, both of us shaking now. His legs tighten around me again, like he’s scared I might pull away.Bu

  • Slapshot Awakening   It Worked

Ryker POVShe just pushes me gently back until I hit the edge of the bed and sit down, staring up at her as she drops to her knees.“Okay, stop,” I say quickly, throwing up a hand.“Ryker,” she groans, clearly annoyed. “I want him to think you’re enjoying yourself, not being tortured.”“This is torture. I don’t like women. This plan is officially the dumbest thing we’ve come up with.”“He’s going to walk in and see you. That’s all we need. He won’t know how much of a failure this is unless you make it obvious.”I shake my head, exasperated, but she pushes on.“Just close your eyes,” she says. “Think of someone you do like. Imagine it’s them. Come on, we’ve got like thirty seconds, if that.”Reluctantly, I close my eyes. My mind immediately goes to Jaxon. I replay that moment, the way he moaned my name, his fingers digging into my skin, how wrecked he looked when he came undone beneath me. My body reacts before I can even think about it.Lauren takes that as her cue and suddenly her m

  • Slapshot Awakening   Trying Her Plan

Ryker POVI’m happy. Weird to say, but I am. Quinn was right, stepping back from Jaxon, letting him live his life without me hovering, has actually helped. I’ve kept my distance, made sure he doesn’t see if I bring anyone home, kept our interactions short and clean. The strange part? He hasn’t really reached out.I figured after a few days of silence he’d crack, miss me, send a message, something. But he didn’t.He’s messaged me three times. The first to ask if Erin had made it home. The second to say the workers needed access to my room. And the third, today, whining about Erin choosing Paul. Now I’m anxious again. My eyes stay locked on him across the room. He’s sitting with Lauren, talking close, and it makes my stomach twist. The fact that Erin gave them her blessing to skate together? That’s messed up.“You’re glaring,” Quinn says, nudging me.“I don’t get it,” I mutter. “It’s been over a week and he hasn’t cared that I stopped trying. If anything, the space made it worse. He’s j

  • Slapshot Awakening   A New Me

Jaxon POV“Fancy coming back to mine?” I ask, turning to Lauren. “We can start discussing a new routine. I’m not interested in reworking the ones I used with Erin. I want something different.”Lauren smiles, brushing her hair back. “Sure. What kind of different are we talking?”“Honestly?” I say, running a hand through my hair. “I don’t know yet. I just know I want it to stand out, completely separate from what I did with her.”She chews her lip thoughtfully and nods. We gather our things, and I drive us back to the house, both of us quiet as we start tossing ideas around in our heads. The streets are dark, the city lit up in fragments, and for once, the silence between us is comfortable. When we walk through the front door, the noise hits immediately, music thumping from the living room, voices carrying, laughter echoing from the kitchen. I catch a glimpse of people sprawled across the couch, drinks in hand, someone dancing half-dressed with a bottle held high.I don’t look for Ryker

  • Slapshot Awakening   A New Partner

Jaxon POV“Then,” I continue, “we transition to mirrored footwork, tight, low patterning across the diagonal, into another synchronized spin. When we break, I do a knee slide and you go into a high arabesque turn over me.”Hailey raises her brows, impressed. “That’s a risky one.”“I know,” I say, shrugging. “But it’s sharp. Judges love it. If we don’t hit it clean in the audition, we’ll adjust. I need to know the person I pick can at least do it, not perfectly but a bit.”“What about the finish?”“Side-by-side jumps. I go triple toe loop, you go double. Doesn’t have to be in sync, just landed clean. Then we reconnect, do a final rotational lift at center and drop into a slide out finish.”Hailey smiles slightly, already moving into position. “Alright. Let’s run it. Slowly first.”I nod, resetting beside her. As we take our starting marks, I feel the weight of everything settle over me, Erin skating with Paul like nothing we built meant anything, Ryker shutting me out like I don’t matt

  • Slapshot Awakening   Moving Forward

Jaxon POVI step onto the ice. Things with me and Erin have oddly gotten better. Her stupid late nights out, or full nights out, have stopped. She’s also backed off from accusing me of faking injuries when I’m not.She turns to face me, and I skate over to meet her.“Are you okay?” she asks with a smile, and I watch Paul skate off, leaving us alone.“I’m great. Got the all clear, so we can train again.” This past week has been hell, but I’m cleared now, and I want to get back on the ice.“I…” she trails off, glancing in Paul’s direction. “He’s got it figured out, so we’re good.”What? “He was meant to stand in until I could skate again,” I say, frowning.“Yeah, I know but…” She chews her lip, avoiding my eyes. “I was thinking we shouldn’t skate together anymore. It’s not good for our relationship, Jaxon.”Is that a joke? “For over a week, I’ve been pushing to get back on the ice and help. You haven’t once said you changed your mind.”“You didn’t have to,” she says, her tone defensive.
