Kelsey POV:
“Kelsey, you come here.” A bitter voice resounded as I was bent over weeding.
I looked up to see a fat woman slowly moving closer to me. Suddenly, my back stiffened. Although it's been a long time since I've seen her again, her impression of her is still etched in my memory, it was a horror when I was a child. I was brought here as an enslaved person when I was five years old. Kaisa is the ruler of this land; her orders here are absolute, make her unhappy, and I will be beaten and starved.
"Yes." I didn't dare to delay, so I put down the grass in my hand and rushed to Kaisa.
She looked at me, a displeased expression on her face. "Stand a little away from me; don't you know how dirty you are?" As she said that, she sprayed perfume everywhere like she was extremely discriminating against me.
I immediately backed away as programmed, then wiped the dirt on my hands on the shirt hidden behind my back and forced a smile.
Kaisa impatiently looked at me, full of anger. "Listen! Stop working here tomorrow and come serve Alpha's son."
'What?' Oraile, my wolf, howled in agony.
My body also trembled; I stammered, looking at Kaisa, and my mouth muscles stiffened. "Dear madam..."
Kaisa, who had only come to inform me, had no intention of stopping to talk, so she had already walked a bit by now. When I called her, she turned around, annoyed. “What?”
"I have to go to Sir Richard's mansion tomorrow?" I bit my lip, praying it wasn't.
Richard is the most brutal man I know. If angering Kaisa only gets hit, you will lose your life when angering Richard. I spent two years as a servant in the garden of his mansion. Luckily I didn't see Richard too much because he rarely came home. But the number of dead people pulled from the estate is uncountable. I had two friends when I was there, but Richard was strangled to death on the spot because of a small mistake.
'It's a nightmare, Kelsey; I don't want to die yet. He'll kill us if we go back there.' Oralie kept screaming in my head.
'Don't say it, Oralie; I'm scared too.' I couldn't help but shiver.
Kaisa looked at me with disdain. “Don't show that stupid look. But lucky for you, the person you need to serve is Brian, Richard's younger brother. I want to warn you about one thing; they are brothers."
After saying that, Kaisa left.
I helplessly watched her fade away; at noon, it was sunny, but I still felt a chill on my back.
When I was young, when my parents were still warriors and were not punished, I had the honor of going to Alpha Arnold's birthday party. There I once met Brian, and even though it was only a fleeting moment, the impression was profound.
And it is terrible.
He and Richard had a fight at the party, at which point my father stopped them in time, but his white suit was covered in blood. As he passed me, he glanced sideways, a look colder than hell.
After all, their two brothers were people who should not be approached.
But the irony of fate, I got rid of Richard once, and now it's Brian.
...
The next day Kaisa came very early; she stood outside urging. “Hurry up, this turtle. Do you want me to grab your neck and drag you away?”
"Yes, I'll be right out." I quickly grabbed my bag of clothes and ran out; although I tried as fast as I could, it wasn't enough to please Kaisa.
She raised her hand and was about to slap my face as usual, I gritted my teeth to wait, but it didn't come in the end.
"I forgive you today, hurry! Don't keep Sir Brian waiting." Kaisa retracted his hand and stepped forward.
I breathed a sigh of relief; today didn't look too bad. For others, they have many needs in life, but for me, if I can't get beaten up for a day and can eat enough, that's good enough.
Kaisa rarely uses her car, so it had a bit of a problem during starting, which broke her excellent mood; she pointed at me and growled. “Unlucky bastard!”
Instinctively, I stepped back a little to avoid her tantrum. But luckily, the car finally started up.
After thinking for a while, I finally reached the mansion of Brian, the second son of the noble Alpha.
Kaisa threw me down like a commodity and said coldly. “Hey, serve well; I must return now.”
As soon as she finished speaking, she turned the car around and disappeared, leaving only a faint layer of dust; she seemed terrified of this place.
Cold air immediately surrounded me, and I looked at the ancient castle before me. I heard it's almost a hundred years old, dating back to before Alpha built the pack in this place. It was once magnificent, once very glorious, a place everyone's dream was to set foot in once to admire. But now that it's dilapidated and the grass outside is growing taller than my head, is this place inhabited?
I nervously took every step, pushing away the tall grass. I saw the main door of the house. I raised my hand to touch the sharp pattern above; a strange feeling suddenly arose as if I had been in this place. I tried pushing on one, but the door didn't lock; it creaked a few times, and then a dark space appeared before my eyes.
'Are all the curtains let down?' I clung to the wall to move forward.
'Hey, is there anyone here?' Oralie trembled, her body shrinking into a pile hiding in the corner.
My situation was not much better; I was so worried that my hands were sweaty.
"Is anyone inside?" I asked small.
There was no reply.
I licked the corner of my lips, trying again. "Excuse me, is anyone here?"
Like last time, still very quiet; there is no fly beside me here.
“Is Kaisa wrong? It seems there is no one here.” I whispered to myself and looked up to the second floor; my heart suddenly jumped and almost rushed out.
Above was a lighted room; although the lamp was weak, it was glowing.
'Could it be that Brian is up there?' I asked Oralie half-cryingly.
She shook her head, trembling slightly. 'Try going up there.'
Gathering my courage, I squeezed my hand into the luggage bag and walked up the stairs. Arriving at the door, I hesitated for a long time but still did not dare to knock. Ever since he failed that time four years ago, there have been many rumors regarding Brian after returning to an increasingly bizarre and cruel personality.
He locked himself in this castle and ordered everyone not to come near; sometimes, only a few servants came to clean and prepare rice for him. What's more terrifying is that all those servants, after returning, are in a very chaotic state; some are even obsessed with something mysterious.
If I step inside, will he immediately choke me and throw me down the stairs?
I was scared by this very thought of mine; even my tongue was drawn in.
“Who?” A cold voice suddenly came from inside the room.
I jumped, my body shaking uncontrollably, and almost my heart stopped beating. Suddenly, someone was talking scary in this quiet space, and a cold voice like pungent.
'Say! If we don't talk, we'll die a little faster!' Oralie urged me.
'You're only good at hiding in there; if you out, you'll feel how terrible it is out here.' I snapped.
'Okay, I'm sorry, but I don't dare; I won't say anything from now on.' Oralie lowered her voice. 'Come on, let's talk.'
I licked the corner of my lips, trying to calm down; I whispered. “My name is Kelsey; I was sent here to serve you in the future.”
It was quiet inside again, like the voice was my imagination now. Come to think of it, goosebumps pop up all over my body.
'Could it be a ghost?' I froze with fear.
Oralie let out a low growl. 'This is not the time to joke around.'
While she and I were arguing, there was a sudden noise inside. I pressed my ear to the door nervously, listening carefully.
"Come in!" That ice-cold voice resounded again.
'Pray for us to get out,' I whispered.
I was dumbfounded as I pushed open the door. The main room in front is pitch black, all decorations are cold tones, and only the yellow light emitted from the night lamp is a little warm.
Entering here, I began to panic about the concept of time. It was bright outside, but no single ray of sunlight could penetrate this room.
I rolled my eyes and stopped on the man sitting on the chair, I couldn't see his face, only his back, but maybe he was Brian.
A blast of cold air made me shiver without being mean. The murderous aura in this room was too heavy, like a pair of hands were flowing in and squeezing my heart.
"Slave?" Brian raised his voice emotionless.
I nodded vigorously, then afraid he wouldn't see, I said. “Yes.”
“Okay, I don't care what you do in this house. I only have two rules, don't disturb me while I sleep and make noise." Brian suddenly turned around, and his sunshade also flew up, letting in enough sunlight to help me see Brian's face.
I froze, my heart pounded, and my face heated up. Our eyes met when he turned his head, and my soul was linked to the hidden place in his heart.
'Mate...' I muttered like a lost soul.
Oralie shouted excitedly. 'Kelsey, he's our mate!'
I still can't believe it, I was overjoyed to hear this, but when I looked into Brian's deep eyes again, I felt scared. His pupils didn't even waver when he looked at me; maybe he didn't have any feelings for me.
"Be obedient, or I don't want to break your bones," Brian warned me with his cold eyes; at that moment, I decided to bury my thoughts with him.
Maybe he and I can never have a happy ending, a slave and a prince; that's absurd.
I woke up at four o'clock in the morning as usual. I tiptoed to the kitchen, opened the window, and closed my eyes to enjoy the fresh air. I raised my head just in time to see Brian's room, inside still maintaining a pale yellow light. When I think of him, I have many thoughts. The time I'm here, life is better than before; at least I get to eat and sleep enough, and I don't have to worry about being beaten. Brian's personality is a bit strange, he often stays up until dawn and then goes to sleep, so he and I only have a little interaction.Every day I must do my duty well, clean the house and prepare three meals. It wouldn't be too bad if it continued like this.'I want to see my mate; I haven't seen him in a few days.' Oralie began to lament; ever since that first meeting with Brian, she's constantly been bugging me about it.'If you have the guts to break his rules, I won't stop you, convert and get up there, but if we break any bones, I won't spare you.' I snapped.Oralie groaned
All eyes turned to the second floor, where Brian was standing."Long time no see; you no longer recognize your mother?" Luna Serena, displeased, raised her cold voice.Brian was not surprised by his mother's presence; he slowly walked down the stairs. He paused for about two seconds as he passed me, then quickly moved on."Who hit you?" Brian didn't let Kate in his eyes.I pursed my lips and didn't answer, struggling with the last of my strength to sit up, when a sharp pain came from my stomach, causing me to lose weight and tumble forward. Luckily, Brian reached out a hand to support me, his cold gaze grazing me, his brows slightly furrowed. An unprecedented sweetness filled my chest; his breath was manly, and his strong arms gave off a hot feeling."The smell of blood is unpleasant; change your clothes first." He let go of me and sat on the chair, never looking directly at Luna Serena. "What are you doing here today?""This is not the attitude you would talk to your mother in." Luna
Brian POV:While punishing Kate, I spotted Kelsey upstairs; she witnessed everything. It seems like I scared her because she's been avoiding me since then, not daring to raise her head when talking. In the past, she and I did not speak often; just a few times when we met, she would look up at me and smile. And now, she is like a little rabbit, always afraid and looking for a hole to hide in.Does she think I'm too cruel to be with Kate like that? Doesn't she realize I'm helping her vent? Or comes from another cause? Is she afraid to do the same to her?I remember that I was the one who threatened to break her bones if she made a mistake.I wonder why she is so shy. Being beaten and tortured by others can't even cry or protest. Should she say she's honest or say she's silly? If I hadn't heard the sound and gone down, I wouldn't know what she would look like. I know my mother would only order a stop if she were satisfied. My father, Alpha Arnold, used to say it when I was a kid. He didn
Kelsey POV:When I woke up, it was already afternoon; I panicked and jumped out of bed in a hurry to run out.‘How can I sleep so much? I don't even prepare Brian's morning. Will he get mad?' I asked Oralie quickly. She is reticent today; I feel a little strange, I asked. ‘Oralie, what happened to you?’Oralie didn't answer quickly as if she was thinking about something; after a while, she spoke in disbelief. ‘Kelsey, are you not paying attention? Where is the copper pot in our room?'I frowned and looked back at the table in the room; I clearly remember last night before going to bed; it was empty. In this house, it's just Brian and me; could it be that he helped me reduce my fever? It turned out that the strange feeling last night wasn't my dream. At that time, I felt my body heat up, and my strength disappeared. I opened my eyes uncomfortably; in front of me was Brian's blurred face, thinking, but at best, I assumed it was my imagination when I was not awake.Thinking of that, my f
My body trembled violently, and an uneasy feeling came; I remember two of my friends seemed to die like this; they were both strangled until they died, then their bodies were thrown in the forest for wild animals to eat. Since then, their names have not been mentioned anymore, and no one has dared to stand up for justice for them; they are like evaporated and do not exist.“Please forgive me, please….” I said intermittently.Richard looked at me with delight, his eyes filled with perversion. “Being this good from the start, I don't want to hurt you. Tell me, who would step on a beautiful flower like you? Come on, laugh!"I tried to smile to win his heart, but the internal organs were already curled up in a pile.Unfortunately for me, today, Richard's mood is furious; I accidentally fell into his eyes, becoming a sandbag to help him vent."I'm not happy now; I want to play a game with you; how do you feel?" Richard retracted his hand that was squeezing my chin. He shook his neck, activ
I hugged my frail body and ran far away, turning many winding paths. My exhausted body did not allow me to continue running; I hid in a dark corner, curled up in it, and sobbed.Oralie couldn't stand it and burst into tears with me. 'Why is it so unlucky? This place is so big, but must we meet him?'I tried to stay calm, wiped my tears, and kept looking out in case Richard would smell the blood and come to this place. It's just that I still hold on to the hope that he's lost interest in me, maybe won't look for me anymore.Rest for a while. I put my hands on the wall to sit up; I've been gone so long that Brian will undoubtedly be unhappy. When I turned around, the party had already started; from a distance, I couldn't see Brian's figure; only Luna Serena was happily talking with Alpha Arnold like they were never apart, always a couple of happy couples. But with a little subtlety, you can see their eyes are full of fakery; they pretend to show everyone what they think in their hearts,
Brian's POV:'I want to tear Richard to pieces; how dare he do that to my mate? How dare he torture her so brutally in front of us. Brian, let me out; let me bite that damn bastard!' Andrew growls repeatedly; he's almost gone mad after all we've seen.Remember Kelsey's pale face in Richard's arms. She trembled and clasped her hands together, begging him to make my chest ache. If I hadn't gone looking for her, I don't know what terrible thing would have happened to her.Too bad I'm still late, scaring her like that.I adjusted my breathing, frustratedly crushing the cobblestone in my hand. At first, I wanted to use a gun to puncture Richard's brain; if it weren't for the fact that Vyna and my father were coming, he would undoubtedly have enjoyed a bullet through the brain, not just a stone that hit his hand.'Brian, I want to kill him and tear his organs!' Andrew didn't stop, continuing to scream.I ignored Andrew, then went everywhere looking for Kelsey. Even though she was injured, h
“Okay, just kill the thief, right?” I ask.Serena was silent momentarily as if she didn't understand what I meant.“When and where was the lost necklace discovered?” I looked over at Edna.“About 30 minutes ago, at this place.” She replies.I smiled faintly. "30 minutes ago, Kelsey wasn't in the lobby; how did she steal the necklace?"Edna glared indignantly said. “Sir Brian, I know you want to cover your servant. But without proof, you blatantly say one sentence means she is innocent?" Edna is like a dog, fiercely biting Kelsey and not letting go.I looked at her coldly and asked. “So where is the proof you say Kelsey took your necklace?”“It was Kate who caught it with her own hands.” Edna pointed to the woman who always stood behind Serena.“Oh…” I stretch my voice, looking at Kate for a moment, a little familiar.'It's the woman who hit Kelsey that day.' Andrew thought I had forgotten, so he reminded me."Is it her again?" I pursed my lips sarcastically, then said. "Simple, open t
