13 YEARS LATER
For thirteen years I am caged to live in the werewolf fortress, but that isn’t the funniest part. The funniest part is the fact that I haven’t seen or in anyway come in contact with my so-called mate.
Whenever occasions happens, I’m being locked up. All I can tell about the fortress is that I only know of this section known as the Royal Queen Chambers, and that’s actually where I am kept.
This very section is different from that owned by the King’s. I was barely left to go outside the walls. Everything I needed was brought to me even before I asked.
Even at this moment, I can’t even give a damn order. Or do I have to wait until I’m being crowned. Don’t blame me, I’m just a novice.
Two months ago, I turned twenty five. I didn’t notice I was even celebrating. For good thirteen years, I never celebrated my birthday and no one cared. Not even my so-called mate.
I made paintings of nature and humans, that was the only thing that kept me company. Sometimes when I go to the garden, I go with my board and other necessities I would need for the drawing.
My room is gorgeously beautiful is all because of my paintings. Back then when I was little, I remember my mom telling me that I can make great money from my drawing.
Then I hoped for the future to arrive. Now it has, it’s just me locked up in this God forsaken room.
“Diana?!” I heard the voice of my maid call from the outside.
Yeah, I know what you’re thinking, she just called me by my name. They all do as far as I don’t have the crown on my head. And guess what, I don’t care either.
She opened the door but didn’t enter. “Good news, Diana, his majesty has granted you the right to explore around on your own. And. . .” She was smiling. “ tonight, you will be having your first dinner with his majesty.”
She’s kidding, right? Why would she call that a good news? No, it’s a bad one.
*
My entire body was trembling even though it wasn’t time for dinner. I’ve got extra two hours yet, it’s all like I’m standing right in front of him.
I can’t imagine what or how he would look like. An animal, or a human? Or maybe having both forms at the same time, who knows?
The evening was gradually surfacing, I shivered, sighing heavily by the sound of the knock on the door.
“Come in.” I said, looking at the door.
Erica was smiling. She seems happy that I was finally going to see the alpha, while me on the other hand has been praying earnestly I don’t get killed tonight.
“I’ll get your water and clothes ready. I’m so happy for you, My Princess.” This is the first time she is ever calling me that.
“What am I supposed to do? Sit, eat then after that I’m out? “
“ Oh my goodness, that is so unfair of you. You don’t have to sit, eat and then leave, there are other important things to do while having dinner with his majesty. “
“ Like what?” I asked.
“ Like, having conversations with him. Not that you have to start the conversation, but try to reply every question he asks.” She went into the bathroom to get the water ready.
After she was done, I entered. I wasn’t good at keeping conversation, and I wasn’t good at creating one either. Plus the fact that I’ll be meeting the alpha, the very one who had given me the mark.
Oh shit. . .
I spent minutes in there still pondering on what my first meeting with the alpha would be that I almost forgot time wasn’t a stand still.
“My princess, are you still in there?” Erica called from the room.
Am I supposed to say I am alright? No way! I’m fu!king freaking out right now. And yes, I’m alive if that’s what she wants to hear.
“Yeah, I’m fine.”
I spent about an extra ten minutes before I thought of leaving the bathroom. Erica had set everything ready for the dinner. She spread my dress on the bed, checking shoes that would suit the dress.
“It’s just a dinner, Erica, not a ceremony.” I said taking off the towel.
“A dinner with the alpha is so much like an occasion. Dinning with the king has been every girls dream, you just got the opportunity.”
I rolled my eyes.
I had to admit but, I don’t think I care about any of that. I’m fu!king freaking out, is that too difficult for her to understand?
I was ready to attend the dinner. My stomach was grumbling, not because I was hungry, but because I was scared.
I stood before the door, sighing thousand times to calm my raising heart down. I could hear his voice from the inside, he was actually making a phone call.
I sighed for the last time, exhaling heavily. “Don’t be scared, Diana. Stay calm. Yes, stay calm.”
I opened the door, making my way in. He was standing by the window, with one hand in his pocket, the other held the phone firmly on his ear.
“Call me when it’s done.” He finalized before cutting the call.
I was still standing by the door side, my eyes scanning the back of the figure from head to toe. He is a human being just like every other people, but I still can’t explain why I feel so scared of him.
“Don’t you feel uncomfortable standing there?” He turns to look at me. “Please make yourself comfortable.” He ushered me.
I went to sit on the chair far opposite from his. He was staring at me, and I was staring back. Who would believe this was the animal thirteen years ago who bit me.
He wasn’t a male model but he should have been. His face looks so innocent. The lush, mother lode-gold hair he groomed so carefully had a rippling quality, a sign of his rude health. The aquiline nose he sported complemented his prominent cheekbones. Handsome in an understated way, his basalt jaw and spartan shoulders spoke of strength. His best feature was his entrancing, wayfarer-blue eyes. Sloe shaped, they could shine as bright as the evening stars when they were a-light with joy. No wonder why Erica never stops praising him. And there are more about him I just can’t explain, the plain truth is. . . Indeed, he is every girls dream. But definitely not my dream, at least not yet.He sat on his chair. “So, if you don’t mind me asking, what is your name, Miss?” He started, picking his fork.“ D. . . Diana. . . Alessandro.” I stammered.“Diana Alessandro,” he repeated. “What a nice name.” He drops the first bite of food into his mouth, grinding on it.“ T. . .Thanks.”I held my fork
★ ★ ★ ★I spent my entire night awake, thinking and rethinking over nothing in particular. I went to the mirror, sitting before it. I was brushing my hair even when I knew I still have to take my bath.“Go get some rest, and try not to think too much.” Seriously? Get some rest? Well, I think I’m breaking that statement.I don’t know why but I just felt like getting the shower ready without Erica’s help. And surprisingly, she was shocked to walk in and I was done with everything. I even had my room dressed up for the first time.Since the alpha had permitted me to exploit the fortress on my own, I think I’ll start that exploration from my room. And hey, I didn’t even get the chance to know his name. Like seriously, Diana, you’re such a jerk ass. “Seriously, your highness, are you for real?” She asked still with the shocked face.“ I don’t think I understand what you’re trying to say.”Actually, I do understand.“ For the first time since thirteen years you just dressed up your room. I
FEELINGS UNTOLD. ★ ★ ★ ★WRITER ✓*Diana stood by the window, staring down the street. He walked out of the building, hopping into a black car twice longer than a carriage, which she recently learnt that it was a Limo. She had a white cloth in her hand, with a needle she used to patch it. “Does he always go out this early?” She asked Erica who was busy with the bed.“Yes, most times.” She answered.“But why? Does something always happen in the morning?” She took her gaze off the window, turning to Erica.“ No. He always goes out to work every morning and returns at night. Don’t tell me you haven’t noticed that since you came here.”“ Nah. Then, I don’t think I seem to care about anything. Plus, I didn’t know him then.” She looked back at the window, watching as the car slowly drove off. “What type of work is that?”“An office work as they do call it.”“ What is an office?” She asked, Erica rose an eyebrow at her. “ What? I grew up in a local town, re
“ A little while, my princess. Just for a little while.” They eat silently for a brief moment. “ You love him, don’t you?” She asked, breaking the silence.“ Isn’t it obvious? I do love him, Erica, I mean I’m crazy over him already.”“ Not minding he is the one who almost killed you thirteen years ago?”“ I did mind about that before, but now, I don’t think I do. Love can make you do a lot of things, you know.”“ I understand.” She smiled.“ What?” Diana asked.“ All the whole time you talked about his majesty, you have been blushing. I think his majesty needs to see you in this manner.”“ Erica? He’s gonna think I’m crazy or something. Why would you want me blushing in front of him?”She shrugged. “ I don’t know. You know, you look beautiful when you blush. I bet he’ll fall in love with you when he sees you. . . Blush.”Diana chuckled, rolling her eyes. Soon they heard the sound of the entrance door bang open, catching the two girl’s attention. From the dinning room they could hear
★ ★ ★ ★“I think you should get some rest.” Diana whispered, breaking the hug.“I don’t wanna sleep.” He whispered back.“ You have to.” She insisted. “ You look tired and distressed. I don’t want you looking like this all day. “His eyes looked heavy but he didn’t want to accept the fact that he was feeling sleepy. She held his hand, assisting him to the bed. He laid down on the bed, Diana covered him with the blanket.“I’ll check you up at noon.” She said about to leave, he grabbed her hand and in a whisper, he said;“Don’t go, stay with me.”“I. . .” She sighed softly. “I will stay. “He didn’t close his eyes until he had seen she is sitting beside him. Slowly, he let himself to be pulled by sleep.Diana watched him sleep soundly. He looks handsome when he sleeps and those long lashes made him look more beautiful. She made sure he was deep in sleep before she thought of leaving the room. She went to meet Erica in the kitchen.“Your highness you shouldn’t be here.” Erica said, dragg
“So, what should I do, Master?”“Follow her, and keep an eye on whatever she does. And find out where and who she stays with. Give me a feedback within 24 hours.” He said and the window slowly wing up.“ Yes, master.”Nicu entered a different vehicle parked behind that of his master. He started the engine of the car, taking the same direction Diana’s driver took.He lodged in one of the homes not far from the fortress, where he can study and get vivid information for the Master, lucifer.Diana went in to the King’s chamber to see if he was still asleep. He was asleep but woke by the sound of the door. He turns by his side but was saddened when he didn’t see Diana beside him.“Your majesty.” She said from the door. His face wore a small smile the moment he saw her standing by the door. “You are awake.”“You didn’t stay.” He said, sadly. “I woke up only to see that I was alone. Why did you go?”“ I did stay, but I had to leave.” She said sitting on his bed. “ There was something importa
★ ★ ★ ★Erica held her basket, wedging it under her left armpit. She was waiting for Freya, her best friend to get hers so that they both can go to the market together.Diana was becoming bored and she searched around for Erica. When she learnt that Erica was in the kitchen, she went there.Erica and Freya just walked out of the kitchen when Diana showed up. “Erica.” She called.Erica turned her gaze to her, surprised to see her. “Your highness?” She looked at both sides, dragging Diana out so no one can see her. “ For goodness sake you shouldn’t be here.”“Why? I searched everywhere for you, and luckily one of the maids told me you are here.”“ Thank goodness for that. But please, do me a favour and go to your room or his. . .”“ Why do you always have to mention his majesty anytime I try to do something on my own?” She snapped angrily, taking off her hands from Erica’s.“ I’m trying to protect you and myself. If his majesty finds out that you aren’t in the fortress, he’s gonna have
“ It’s been great. Though, I had the challenges but luckily, I was able to overcome it. Well, I feel more safer now. . . I guess.”Diana noticed he hasn’t touched his tea since the conversation started. “You haven’t touched your tea yet.”He took the cup, sipping from it. She watched his adam’s apple move up then down. She sighed in relief, assured that he did swallow the tea. Then she faked a smile on her face, sipping from her cup.She was studying him to see if there would be any reaction in him. She noticed his breath was heavy, and his eyes grew heavy. He was blinking hard to resist the reaction, and not to pass out.“What did you do?” He grabbed the tea cup, smashing it in his grip. “Did you just poisoned me?” He said faintly, falling to the ground.Diana stood up, smiling at him. “ I never thought you’d fall so easily to my trap.”“Who sent you?” He growled, but the more he talks, the more he loses his strength. “Who are you?”Diana walked to his side, bending before him. “ Let
