Chapter 3: Meeting The Alpha

                            13 YEARS LATER

For thirteen years I am caged to live in the werewolf fortress, but that isn’t the funniest part. The funniest part is the fact that I haven’t seen or in anyway come in contact with my so-called mate.

Whenever occasions happens, I’m being locked up. All I can tell about the fortress is that I only know of this section known as the Royal Queen Chambers, and that’s actually where I am kept.

This very section is different from that owned by the King’s. I was barely left to go outside the walls. Everything I needed was brought to me even before I asked.

Even at this moment, I can’t even give a damn order. Or do I have to wait until I’m being crowned. Don’t blame me, I’m just a novice.

Two months ago, I turned twenty five. I didn’t notice I was even celebrating. For good thirteen years, I never celebrated my birthday and no one cared. Not even my so-called mate.

I made paintings of nature and humans, that was the only thing that kept me company. Sometimes when I go to the garden, I go with my board and other necessities I would need for the drawing.

My room is gorgeously beautiful is all because of my paintings. Back then when I was little, I remember my mom telling me that I can make great money from my drawing.

Then I hoped for the future to arrive. Now it has, it’s just me locked up in this God forsaken room.

“Diana?!” I heard the voice of my maid call from the outside.

Yeah, I know what you’re thinking, she just called me by my name. They all do as far as I don’t have the crown on my head. And guess what, I don’t care either.

She opened the door but didn’t enter. “Good news, Diana, his majesty has granted you the right to explore around on your own. And. . .” She was smiling. “ tonight, you will be having your first dinner with his majesty.”

She’s kidding, right? Why would she call that a good news? No, it’s a bad one.

My entire body was trembling even though it wasn’t time for dinner. I’ve got extra two hours yet, it’s all like I’m standing right in front of him.

I can’t imagine what or how he would look like. An animal, or a human? Or maybe having both forms at the same time, who knows?

The evening was gradually surfacing, I shivered, sighing heavily by the sound of the knock on the door.

“Come in.” I said, looking at the door.

Erica was smiling. She seems happy that I was finally going to see the alpha, while me on the other hand has been praying earnestly I don’t get killed tonight.

“I’ll get your water and clothes ready. I’m so happy for you, My Princess.” This is the first time she is ever calling me that.

“What am I supposed to do? Sit, eat then after that I’m out? “

“ Oh my goodness, that is so unfair of you. You don’t have to sit, eat and then leave, there are other important things to do while having dinner with his majesty. “

“ Like what?” I asked.

“ Like, having conversations with him. Not that you have to start the conversation, but try to reply every question he asks.” She went into the bathroom to get the water ready.

After she was done, I entered. I wasn’t good at keeping conversation, and I wasn’t good at creating one either. Plus the fact that I’ll be meeting the alpha, the very one who had given me the mark.

Oh shit. . .

I spent minutes in there still pondering on what my first meeting with the alpha would be that I almost forgot time wasn’t a stand still.

“My princess, are you still in there?” Erica called from the room.

Am I supposed to say I am alright? No way! I’m fu!king freaking out right now. And yes, I’m alive if that’s what she wants to hear.

“Yeah, I’m fine.”

I spent about an extra ten minutes before I thought of leaving the bathroom. Erica had set everything ready for the dinner. She spread my dress on the bed, checking shoes that would suit the dress.

“It’s just a dinner, Erica, not a ceremony.” I said taking off the towel.

“A dinner with the alpha is so much like an occasion. Dinning with the king has been every girls dream, you just got the opportunity.”

I rolled my eyes.

I had to admit but, I don’t think I care about any of that. I’m fu!king freaking out, is that too difficult for her to understand?

I was ready to attend the dinner. My stomach was grumbling, not because I was hungry, but because I was scared.

I stood before the door, sighing thousand times to calm my raising heart down. I could hear his voice from the inside, he was actually making a phone call.

I sighed for the last time, exhaling heavily. “Don’t be scared, Diana. Stay calm. Yes, stay calm.”

I opened the door, making my way in. He was standing by the window, with one hand in his pocket, the other held the phone firmly on his ear.

“Call me when it’s done.” He finalized before cutting the call.

I was still standing by the door side, my eyes scanning the back of the figure from head to toe. He is a human being just like every other people, but I still can’t explain why I feel so scared of him.

“Don’t you feel uncomfortable standing there?” He turns to look at me. “Please make yourself comfortable.” He ushered me.

I went to sit on the chair far opposite from his. He was staring at me, and I was staring back. Who would believe this was the animal thirteen years ago who bit me.
