Chapter 2: Rejection at First sight.

There was nothing but complete darkness around her; there was no light at all. Absolute silence. The quiet was so oppressive that it rained everywhere; she could even hear her own blood pumping through her veins. Her long lashes fluttered as her eyes slowly opened, and she groaned as she sat up with the aid of her hands. The coldness of the floor had hit her skin so hard that it had caused her eyes to squint. Her unkempt hair hid her face. She turned to look and discovered that she was still in the computer lab. “How long have I been here?” Mumbled a tired Kiara; she remembered what happened before she passed out. “Uhh,” she gasped.

As she hastily checked herself, she unexpectedly sighed in relief, “Phew!” saying, “At least he didn't take advantage of me.” She got to her feet and sat down after feeling a little queasy.

Slowly, placing her palm on her forehead, she discovered that she was wiping away tears. “Why… Why is this happening, exactly? Why do I feel trapped? Why do I feel like I am cursed?” Tears swelled in her eyes as they slowly rolled down her cheeks, staining them, but she wiped them off with the back of her fingers before they reached her jaw.

Checking her wristwatch, her lips pressed tightly together; it was already School ending. “Jeez, where is Janet? Didn't she even notice that I was missing?” She eventually shook her left shoulder and hurried home, where no one treated her like a living being; instead, to them, she was just an object of satisfaction that could be thrown around. Since there were no students in the school when she left the computer room, her only plan was to get home. She wanted to be strong, but she was severely bullied and sobbed a lot.

She fervently prayed to the moon goddess as she made her way back home for someone to love her and support her while she recovered from the trauma. When she got home, she saw her mother, Clarissa, and she was going to her room when Clarissa's voice could be heard asking, “Why are you coming home by this time?”

'Well, I passed out owing to too much tension and discomfort. Thank you for asking.' She did her best not to smirk as she struggled to contain her thoughts. “After school was over, I dozed off, and when I woke up, everyone had left.”

“Are you certain?” Clarissa regarded her for a while.

'As if you care!' Saying this to herself, she faked a smile that did not appear in her eyes as she responded, “Yes, I'm certain.”

“Excuse me, I have to go to my room.” Clarissa nodded slightly before Kiara headed to her room. Clarissa's eyes appear to flash something, but she quickly brushes it aside.

Clarissa had short black hair and blue-colored eyes. She was tall with a curvy figure.

Kiara sighed heavily as she entered her little room, which she couldn't even call a room because it was more like a tiny store with a tiny bed inside. She was silently muttering to herself, “I hope he doesn't make a bad Alpha,” before a small chuckle escaped her lips. As she stood, she grinned. She was standing in front of her mirror when she noticed her reflection, staring at it with her eyes fixed on it. Tears fell from her eyes, and she wiped them away, saying,

“I will not be a weakling who won't stand up for herself.” After changing into matching pink shorts and a large pink t-shirt, she hurried to the kitchen to start cooking dinner. To her surprise, Clarissa was already cooking; she leaned against the wall and looked around the kitchen with arched eyebrows, and her lips were pressed together. “Um…”

While turning to face Kiara, Clarissa ignored her and carried on with her cooking. She was used to serving and preparing food for them; even though she was the first daughter, she was treated like a slave. “It looks like I am not needed here,” she assumed, hesitating a little before fleeing the kitchen.

Heading to the sitting room, she saw Kate, her younger sister who was fifteen years old, with her boyfriend as they seemed to be making out in the sitting room on the furniture. 'Okay, wrong timing' she stopped as she closed her eyes while turning back to walk away, but then…

“Can't you greet my boyfriend, bitch?” That was Kate's voice.

She froze and said, “Darn it!” Turning around, she said, “Yo… You two were, um, I just didn't want to disturb.”

When Mike, the teenager she was with, turned to gaze at Kiara's thighs, Kate asked, “And since when did you start wearing shorts?” She erupted.

Kiara raised a brow, asking if that was even a question in her mind.

“Is that your sister? She is hot!” Mike said as he smiled at Kiara, but she gave off no expression.

“Shut up, Mike!” Kate glared at Kiara angrily as she stood up and approached her.

“You stupid girl! Are you trying to seduce my boyfriend or what, huh? I knew that you were always evil. You filthy and disgusting piece of trash! I bet that your mate would even reject you at first sight. I don't even think anyone would have any interest in you at all, not even a blind man who can't see,” she snapped her two fingers in front of Kiara.

Kiara was already used to being talked down to. Kate was the last born, and she was the most spoilt. Kiara's parents were rich, and her father was the beta of the pack.

“I am sorry, but I am not trying to seduce your boyfriend.” She uttered. Kate gave her a stink eye from head to toe.

“You liar, you are clearly trying to seduce him with this disgusting body of yours that no man would even look at twice, shameless ugly being.” she spat out angrily.

As all those words were coming out of her mouth, Kiara tried to convince herself that she was not hurt by her words, but it was a lie. She was more than hurt; her self-confidence was fading; she felt like an ugly person, but she wasn't going to cry in front of her sister and give her the satisfaction of seeing her break down.

“Whoa, calm down, babe,” Mike said from behind, wrapping his hand around Kate's waist as he placed a kiss on her left cheek.

“She is your sister; why are you being this rude?” There was this disapproving look in his eyes.

She exclaimed at him, “You know nothing about this; just keep out of this.”

“What is happening here?” Arnold's voice was heard from behind. Kiara suddenly turned her head backward while awkwardly standing.

Kate yelled angrily, “This filthy idiot is trying to seduce my boyfriend,” pointing at Kiara.

“If I'm really as ugly as you claim, why are you worried that your guy would be seduced or fall for me?” She couldn't help but ask; if she truly was as unattractive as she claimed, her boyfriend would not even give her a second glance.

“How dare you, Kiara?” Arnold violently dragged her by her hands.

She was angry as she stared at the man who had almost raped her, but she reminded herself to remain composed. “Father, I did nothing!” As calmly as she could, she spoke.

Arnold commanded her to go to her room, but she knew that they were simply being polite since Mike was around. Kiara nodded slightly as she ascended to her chamber. When she returned downstairs later that day and saw her mother serving dinner, she took it to her room, where she found serenity. She went downstairs after dinner to collect the plates. Luckily for her, her sisters weren't home, and her mother had left the house with some pack members, leaving her alone with her awful father. She shuddered at the thought of being alone with him. “Just protect me, Goddess.” She was on her way to her room when she heard a voice. For some reason, she was curious and wanted to know what he was talking about, so she tiptoed toward his room while berating herself for her crazy behavior, but she continued to do it. “Haha! I always appreciate keeping my end of the bargain, Purple wolf!” She scowled when she heard him mention this.

“There isn't much there, I guarantee you; once I receive the full payment, everything will be resolved. As long as you got the money, the deal would be completed.” She overheard Arnold stating that.

“She is perfect, and I must admit that she has some delicious activity going on between her legs.” When she first heard these words, she was immediately upset and more curious to find out what he was actually talking about, but when she did, her entire world came crashing down.

“Give me the money, and I'll sell Kiara to you right away.”
