CHAPTER TWENTY SEVEN
He was wandering the hospital wards looking for a room that was described to him over the phone,
He stopped a nurse and asked for directions, he thanked her and left afterwards.
He stopped in front of a room and knocked at the door that was left ajar, he entered after being ordered to come in, he closed the door and walked towards the beside.
He looked round the room and saw two other patients that weren't opening their eyes, their guardian sat next to them with worried looks on their faces.
It was a typical children emergency ward, he sat down and smiled at Mirabella's sleeping face. She was really cute.

The doctor called Catherine into her office and had a talk with her, in the middle of their conversations she broke down."Doctor please save my daughter." They got under the almond shed and sat down at the deserted chair that has been there before either of them got admitted into the school.Michal stared into space and Hammed watched her."Why are you mad at me?" He asked when she still refused to talk to him."Try to figure out the reason." She said."I can't think of anything." He racked his brain but nothing was coming forth. "Wait!" He snapped a finger. Days passed swiftly, and as the days passed she got weaker.The doctor called Catherine into her office again, and told her "If after this surgery, I mean the bone marrow transplantation she doesn't get better. I wouldn't want you to panic, I'd just advise you to be with her and make her last days a happy and memorable one. Right now, she's left with very little strength and she fighting strongly for her life." The doctor told Catherine, she couldn't move her feet, her teeth were glued to her tongue.'Would she lose her daughter?' Was the one question her brain could process. She stared at the doctor with no expression on her face, she was not ready to lose anyone again, she sobbed silently thinking of the impending danger she sobbed out loudly."Please save my daughter." She begged, the words she said every time. She thought of Mirabella's smiling face and gnashed her teeth in pains. "I don't want to lose her."

"We made it." Lekky yelled happily not caring if she was disturbing other patients, she showed the letter to Mirabella. "We made it to the final." She squealed.Mirabella collected the sheet of paper from her and glanced through, "Congratulations to us." She smiled weakly."Yes, I'm so happy." Lekky said, her expression showed how happy she was."Lekky, will I be able to sing the next time we want to compete?" She asked sadly and the smile on Lekky's face faltered."You'll be fine before then." She told her."How do you know?" Mirabella sniffed, she was about to cry. "Don't tell anyone about it yet but I want you to rehearse ahead of the competition." She said to Lekky who had a gloomy face on."Mira." Michal went to church to pray for her sister, it's been a while she entered the church premises. She got to the altar and knelt gently by the cross"Oh Lord, I know we've been away from you." Michal clasped her hands together in a prayer arrangement."Forgive me, forgive us. My sis is hurting and I can't bear to see Mirabella in pains, it hurts me." She felt a sharp pain in her chest. "Its hurting.""Please God... She's really weak and I'm not sure if she can still hold on a little more but God if she'll leave us, make the rest of her days here painless, grant her peace. I know you can hear me and you are listening to these prayers please God.." Things have gotten worse, the surgery was not successful but Catherine didn't tell her daughter about it.She knew she would break down and she wasn't ready to see her two daughters dejected. There was nothing she knew of that could save Mirabella, something spoke to her to pray but she always waved the thoughts off her mind.'She'd be fine.' Was what her mind kept saying, maybe she was just deceiving herself, maybe Mirabella would never stand on her feet again, she thought of her well being and anticipated her resting in peace forever at the same time.Michal went to school to ease herself of all pains, though she knew a pest was in school to bug her but she had Hammed and he was there for her, there to make sure she was fine.Exams for the second third term was approaching, the students had less classes and the ones that held were mainly for revisions to prepare the student for the exams ahead of them.

"Ruth why are you being so unfair?" Hammed asked, his eyes showing disgust."Lover boy, what have I done again?" She looked at him and shrugged her shoulders, it was clear she didn't care about whatever he wanted to say. She knew the conversation would revolve around Michal and she wasn't interested in matters that concerned her."You know Mirabella is sick, don't you?" He looked at her."Who's Mirabella?" She deadpanned, then turned to him like she just remembered something. "You mean Michal's sister?" She asked shaking her head vigorously vibing to the song that played on her earphones."I'm surprised." He scoffed. "You don't know who Mirabella is?" He asked in disbelief, the anger he felt towards her was aggravating and he was trying his best to calm down."I do know her but Michal didn't tell me her sister is sick. So how would I know?"
