"Oh. Hey," Carylle greeted, realizing it was him with her lips spreading into a smile. It made him relieved somehow as she didn't appear to be unhappy, but still, he shouldn't let his guard down as deep down, he didn't know what she was actually thinking.
"H... Hey," he greeted back and walked over to her, putting a hand on the couch, and she scooted as if to give him space to sit on. "I apologize. I had an urgent meeting, so I had to leave for a bit." Lies.
"That's fine, I understand," she nodded, gazing at him softly and unknowingly. "Is work not done yet? It's almost dinner time, you know. You must be hungry after a tedious meeting..." she trailed off, and he was taken aback. Adler didn't expect her to be more concerned about his well-being, or maybe she was just saying this to tell him that she was starving.
