Chapter forty-four

Logan sat next to Adena in the lobby, where they were waiting for Damon. She turned to him and noticed how pale he looked. She felt bad that he had to risk his mental and emotional health in order to bring her to the hospital.

"Are you okay?" She asked. He turned to her and nodded. He shifted his gaze to the glass window, it was still raining, but it wasn't so heavy anymore.

"You didn't have to get in the rain because of me" she added, folding her arms across her chest.

"What should have I done? I had no idea what was wrong with you so I had to bring you here, to make sure you're alright" he explained and she looked away. She didn't like what her heart was doing. It was pulling her to the same man that tortured her.

Adena tried to resist, she really tried.

"Thank you" she murmured and he chuckled at her childish behavior.

"It's alright, don't thank me. I'm just glad you're fine" he said and she sighed.

"You should change into some warm clothes, it's cold" she pointed out. Logan look
