Lena’s Pov

As I ran down the hallway, I couldn’t shake the feeling that the walls between me were closing on me.

My feet clicked against the marble floor; each step felt heavier than the last, and my heart was pounding in my ears.

I paused in front of the door to my room, my hand resting on the cold metal handle, my mind a surreal feeling of emotions and endless thoughts.

Was I ready for this?

My life had taken a huge turn in the blink of an eye.

Being rejected, sold, and mated to a stranger as a second-chance mate was so fast to happen in the space of only two months.
