~ Emilia ~

I had waited up almost all night waiting for Adrain. But he didn’t show up.

I was a bit confused on why I was actually waiting for him, not like he cared about me, though.

We weren’t even married as normal couples. It was just a contract marriage that would last for a few days.

“I don’t think he is going to show up, ma'am. " His beta Austin bowed after watching me pacing up and down in the living room for hours.

"It's fine, Austin. Not necessarily waiting for him, though. I just couldn’t sleep.”

Adrain moved towards the door. “Alpha mentioned he wouldn’t be home early, so I think you should just go in and sleep." He said and left.

"My goodness," I exhaled.

Why was I even waiting for someone who didn't know I was waiting for him?

I sighed heavily and went up to my room.

I tossed on my bed, trying to sleep, but I couldn’t.

I rose from the bed and decided to still wait for him a little while.

I came back to the living room and sat down; my mind raced with thoughts as I stared at the frame on the wall.

I was actually seeing this frame for the first time hung on the wall since I moved into the Alpha's quarters.

I stood up and went to bring it down. It was the exact frame from the other day. Two kids holding hands and staring at the moonlight.

I caressed it gently, wondering how special it really was to Adrain.

Something about the picture meant a lot because he protected it like life.

Drawing this exact picture isn’t a bad idea, though. I thought of drawing it and maybe surprising him with it. It will definitely mean a lot.

I was perfect when it came to drawing; no one actually beats me to that. I had applied for a scholarship to one of the biggest artistic firms in Lycaonia, but I hadn’t gotten a response till I found myself here.

I went back to my room and pulled out my suitcase, praying I still found everything I used for my drawing.

And fortunately they were all there.

I brought a sheet and gently laid on my bed and started the drawing.

I had painted it halfway when my door flung open.

“Adrain." I called and climbed down from the bed.

He stood, his gaze resting on me.

He walked in fully and shut the door before coming to sit.

“Hope you are good, Emilia?” He asked, glancing at me.

I nodded and shifted my face from his. He smelled of alcohol.

Hell no, Adrain was heavily drunk.

"Adrain, you are….”

"Alpha." Austin burst through the door.

“You kept us all waiting, and coming back heavily drunk doesn't seem right." Austin explained and bowed.

“I’m okay, Austin. "Now leave," he responded.

Austin shook his head, then turned and left.

"You are drunk, Adrain." I pointed and shifted backwards.

Adrain chuckled like I had said some sort of joke.

His eyes met the half-painted drawing on the bed, and he picked it up.

“Where did you find this? " He inquired drowsily.

"I... did it..."

“I have told you to stay away from anything like this, Emilia. Do you want to hurt yourself?" He mumbled and leaned closer.

"I didn’t get it from…."

“Shhhhh." He cut in, placing his index finger between my lips.

I stared at him, and our eyes locked.

He leaned in closer so that our faces brushed against each other.

He pushed me slightly, and I lay on my back.

He crawled over till our faces were at the same level.

“I don’t suck on these sweet lips of yours.” He used his finger to part my lips.

His touch sent a spark through my body. Every part of my system wanting and pleading for more of his touch.

He snickered, then placed his hands on my chest, touching my boobs.

“Wondering how it would feel, robbing my cock between them.” He let out.

Shit! My body was on fire at this point. I stared down at my chest, and his hands were still on my boobs.

"Ad…..rain…" I moaned softly.

He let out a sly smile and gently squeezed my nipples.

I bit down on my lip, swallowing the moaning sound that wanted to escape from it.

I looked at Adrain and wondered if this was really worth it. Isn’t he trying to take advantage of me in his drunken state?

I wanted to push him off my body and scream at him to stop. But my body wanted otherwise. It wanted his touch and affection so bad.

Adrain moved his lips to mine, seeing I didn’t resist him.

“Should I?"

I nodded almost immediately.

I never knew I wanted him so bad till now.

“I have always wanted to kiss you so bad, Charlotte." He drawled and wanted to crush his lips on mine when I pushed him off.

He fell to the other side of the mattress, and I lay up immediately.

I shut my eyes tightly to prevent the tears that were already shimmering from falling.

So this was about Charlotte?

He wanted to kiss me and even touched me because he thought I was her.

I was a fool, though; I should have known this, seeing he was drunk.

“Leave my room now." I blinked, the tears already trickling down my cheeks.

"I didn’t mean to, Charlotte," he said and staggered backwards, holding the door handle to avoid falling to the floor.

And yes, he mentioned that name again.

“Just get out, Adrain. " I barked and turned my back. I wouldn’t want him to see me this way.

He smiled and left, without uttering a word.

~ Emilia ~The bang I felt on my head when I woke up was massive.I smiled, remembering how Adrain carried me in his arms to my room and then tucked me into bed after I told him I felt sleepy. He really cared, though. He ensured the vase didn’t hit my head, not just once but thrice. How do you feel when someone you think doesn't love you suddenly starts to care? The feeling is reassuring, so reassuring that you would fall for him again.I rolled myself out of the bed and headed to the bathroom. When I came back to my room, my mind raced back to the event that played earlier. How could a vase drop from the servants' quarters not even once but three whole times?Something is off. I sat down on my bed and crossed my leg, looking up to the sky as the thoughts flew in.I saw the figure, at least from his neck down to his head. But they were all covered in a black mask; I couldn’t see his face. Why would someone throw off a vase without even checking if someone was there? Let's say the v

~ Adrain ~I paced in my room, patiently waiting for Austin to arrive.“You called me." Austin bowed as soon as he stepped in."Earlier at the courtyard, did you make sure all the guards were present?" I stopped to face him.He tilted his head, then nodded."Yes, Alpha, I made sure they all left their quarters."“No," I shook my head. “They didn’t all leave their quarters.” I leaned closer.“Who then threw the glass?"“The glass?" Austin echoed, confused.“Yes, the vase. Not just once or even twice, but thrice. Three fucking times." I made the sign with my hands for clearer understanding.Austin still looked confused, and then I knew I needed to explain.“After addressing the guards, I was leaving and then bumped into Emilia, and next thing, a vase fell from the servant quarters almost hitting her.” I paused.Austin's expression was unreadable, but a mix of shock and confusion was written all over him.“I pulled her out the first time, the second, and the third time." • Sold To The Alpha, Now I'm A Werewolf    The Alpha's Cruelty

~ Emilia ~ I watched Adrain leave and shook my head in disgust. Adrain isn't even worth my love. But wasn’t I even a fool for falling for someone who made it clear in the first place that our marriage was just for paper's sake and nothing else attached to it? But something off was going on in this pack. I have overheard Austin complaining about a curse and the death of someone. I hissed; it shouldn’t be any of my business though. The pack's affairs aren't meant to be bothering me. My next plan was finding out more about Charlotte and how she is anyway, Ava. I looked at the drawing and made up my mind not to continue with it or even look at it ever again. I needed to concentrate on my well-being till the marriage days elapse, and I would leave just as he said. I folded back the half-painted drawing, including the box of instruments I needed for the drawing, and headed outside to trash it. I didn’t want to trash it anywhere close because looking at it might make me wa
